Perhaps that's why you found them to be beautiful.. Also, those funnel shaped towers you see around Kuwait (same as the big water tower in Uppsala) are also designed by the same Swedish architecture firm.

try and visit Egypt it is so cool and lots of places to see and explore and try. also try ask the locals for recommendations as u will discover a lot of thinks google doesn't always show. try the sweet cane it is so sweet also some of the local juice mixes it will surprise u

OMG my mouth is watering. I love Middle Eastern food. Hubby and I were in Egypt last October and I put on 5 kilos I am sure from just eating Hummus and the bread. :)

I just came across this video ! I'm glad you had a good time in Kuwait. but too bad that you went to Freej Sowalih and hadn't tasted Kuawiti local food. Nothing can't be compared to the most famous dish in Kuwait Motabg Zibaidi (Fish). And it's too bad that you hadn't Mubarikyah Souq (Local Market). Unfortunately, a large part of it has been burnt recently.

I can't eat most Middle Eastern food (garlic, olive oil, seafood). But I *LOVE* tall buildings, and most tall buildings are either in the Persian Gulf area or East Asia (China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore). I'd have to fly in one of the super-luxury airline suites to get to Kuwait to go up to the tops of the tall buildings.

Kuwait is known for its beautiful restaurants though, not surprised at all. I traveled the world and I kind of feel you when you said it feels homie! Bahrain feels even more for westerners. So it looks like you've been to all GCC countries... except? Saudi Arabia. I'm from Saudi and I can tell you it's not that different from its neighbors. In fact, Saudi is way more authentic than all GCC countries. You'll experience both modernity and culture at the same time. You won't regret it.
