"Do you still wanna go shorter than a 3?" 7:20 - how many of you have needed this at some point?! Starting higher and going shorter is one of our favourite pieces of advice from Dan, and this couldn't have been any better for showing it! A #1 would have been way too short for what Filip was thinking!
I wish more barbers did this. They always have a tendency to go shorter than people want in my experience. Personally I get a haircut every 2 weeks, so I just go crazy when they hack away at the top. Even if it's "too long" I'll be back in 2 weeks to fix it... But I can't come back in 2 weeks when you cut 2 inches off. Barbers need to communicate throughout the haircut, not simply "what do you want today?"
Client could of been a little more polite and shown more appreciation for the haircut for me. Iâd of banged it to a zero to teach him a lesson đ great work from dan again though
@@TheMan-cg5qu i don't think was rude at all?? Like most clients, he just seemed to have trouble clearly expressing what he wanted. He was looking for Dan to interpret his desires and create the style he was looking for, which exactly what Dan should do as a competent barber.

when blending the sides, what if one side lays heavier due to a cowlick? How would you take that weight out while making sure it still pushes back?
My husbands hair has a lot of cowlicks and the one on his left side is particularly stubborn. Wants to lay straight down, not back.

I'd like to offer a two suggestions that maybe others could be interested in, at the end of each vid: 1) a maintenance rating score 1 low to 5 high, 2) frequency recommendation for upkeep at the end of each clip. We need to take a saliva or cheek swab sample from Dan, send it off to a secret lab somewhere and have him cloned. Los Angeles needs a Dan but alas, there can only be one. SMH.

Who is he?
I have a question. I have never seen you do slicing, why? is it something you find unnecessary? some barbers say it damages the hair but I use it all the time but rarely see it in videos. I mean real slicing with slicing scissors, not just random cross overs like many do.
Iâm gonna start saying I apprenticed understand Dan Gregory as well as my actual mentee.
Definitely did the right thing of starting with a higher guard, keeping it a bit longer I think suited his head shape better and if you wouldâve gone with a 1 it wouldâve looked much shorter than the client thought, especially considering his hair texture like Dan mentioned. Man this haircut came out super nice so the clientâs lack of reaction was very disappointing to me đđ . I really appreciate these videos and have learned a lot from Dan đ

Watching this guy cut hair feeling jealous đjust had my haircut, barber went too high on the fade and he took too much weight off when blending the sides, with the length on top falling to my eyebrows, i literally look like a porcupine đ€·ââïž so annoying

When you get a free haircut from one of the best barbers in the world, is it not polite to at least thank the barber and not the other way around? What happened to good old-fashioned manners?
It's both sides of the coin, the barber wouldn't be "the best" if it wasn't for humans lol. He needs humans just as much as humans need him. So they both should thank eacbother and get it over with
Remember that these guys have camera in front of them while getting a haircut, something we doubt they're used to! haha. Some people just be themselves like the camera isn't there, and sometimes people don't know whether they should talk or not! A lot of the time people's more sincere thanks comes off camera â€ïž We find everyone is very thankful for the opportunity. At the end of the day, everyone in our videos is someone who watches the videos! Dan is also grateful for the opportunity to do so many unique styles!!
