Great video! Gets right to the point of fixing the problem. You explain the steps clearly for people to understand. I look forward to more of your videos and encourage you to keep up the good work! Thanks again!
I just finished replacing the pump & motor in my 2013 Cadillac SRX, and this video was dead on. I just followed your video, and had no issues at all. I had already replaced the control module, but all that did was make it possible to unlock the liftgate, and open it manually. After watching your video, I felt pretty sure it was the motor causing it to not open automatically, so I ordered the pump & motor assembly, followed your video instructions, and now it's working. YAY!!! Thank you for posting this awesome instructional video!!!
Hello. Thanks for posting this video and the part 2. I'm trying to fix a friend's liftgate that completely stopped functioning. I replaced the control module first, and that allowed the actuator to function, but with no movement of the liftgate. The board seemed like it was trying to do something and it got rather hot, so I am guessing that the pump motor failed, and then burned out the control module. Disconnected the new board. So, now I am on to replacing the pump. Your video is very simple to follow, yet thorough. Especially for someone who isn't a mechanic. Her vehicle is a 2010 SRX, and appears to have similar rust, etc in the bottom, so I feel pretty confident this replacement will do the trick. Thanks again.
It's why I do it if I can help anyone get the job done and save some money in these trying times I'm glad to do it good luck to ya and if u need additional help please let me know
I have a 2013 SRX and I’m thinking it’s the pump. When would it be the liftgate tailgate actuator. Is there things I need to look at to narrow down the diagnostic. Plus I also have notice a musty smell days after I have ran the vehicle through the car wash or a heavy rain. You are amazing mechanic and it’s nice that someone explains in simple terms. Just because a subscriber 👍
Such a shitty design!!! I've had to replace my liftgate module three times. Damn drain tubes clog and the space back there floods. I just pulled it apart again tonight, and have her replace that damn motor again! Took it to the dealership last time, they charged me $850! Going to do it myself this time, thanks for the video!
Hi. Thanks for the great videos. Couple of questions for you. I'm trying to replace the liftgate control module on my 2011 SRX but the 6 trim screw in the tracks are very rusted and I'm having an issue trying to remove them. Any tips on that? If I have to get replacements any idea what the part numbers for those screws are? If I can't get the screws out any advice on how to remove the Styrofoam tub without destroying it? Thanks!
If you have to destroy the screws see if you can find a track assembly at the local salvage yard with screws it is an uncommon item so cost won't be so bad if u have no luck send me your vin number and I can try my best to get part numbers for all you need to replace as for getting them out try a penetrating oil and gently tapping on the screws after letting oil soak in for a few hours to loosen rust best of luck 🤞
@@slimsautomotiverepair8714 Just a follow up for you. The screws all got destroyed. All 6 are rusted and started to strip as I was trying to remove them. sprayed them first with penetrating oil spray but not much luck with that either. Wound up having to use a screw extractor to drill out and remove each one. Thanks again for your help. Your video helped me a lot in finding my issue and then fixing it. Now I have to check my 2012 SRX to make sure there is no water leaking into that same area on that one
@@ChrisDePalma I would definitely make sure while you have it tore apart and messing with it if it has a sunroof go ahead and make sure the sunroof. Drains are unclogged and clear
My mother in law just bought a 2012 srx and the lift gate will release but won't open or close, excellent video, looks like I'll be changing hers out soon. Do you think it's necessary to change out the ram arm on the driver's side as well, or should be good to reuse the old one? From what I can tell the ram hasn't been leaking any fluid so I'm hoping to be able to reuse it.

My lift gate is clicking (module). I'm assuming my pump had died. Can got confirm if it was the pump? Is so where u get the part from.
I like it a man who gets it. done no editing no fluff 👍
That's what I strive for I try to value the time of the people who take the time to learn how to do it

I would check the module on the side of the pump first open the plastic and I bet the circuit board is full of corossion

Unless the seal is blown out or leaking badly it should be alright
is a kit/part i need to install to make my SRX '13 be able to carry a spare tire like the one is this video?
You may be able to find the parts at a local salvage yard and drop them in all the body's are the same
When I push the hatch release I hear it unlock but it doesn’t open, would it be the pump?
It would be the place I started to look at thep pumps are notorious or the module
can you access back shock bolts by taking out the bottom track and all like you did in this video?
I believe so if you pull the plastic side covers or they are bolted in the fender well when you take the tire off
God Bless you...thank you for saving me $4,000. PLEASE Can you confirm that the 2013 and 2014 are the same?
Yes they r the same I am sorry for the late response
Shit! Forget it! 😡
I'll do without.
I'm sure they'll charge me an arm and a 🦵
What you got going on I can try and help with you took the time to comment I have the time to try and help
