Cadillac SRX GM Power Hydraulic Liftgate Arm Actuator Leaking Replacement ACDelco 23429744 repair

My 2015 Cadillac Power Liftgate stopped opening. The hydraulic strut had been leaking for some time. When the hydraulic fluid became too low the pump stopped working. The dealer quoted around $1000 to fix. The job took me around 4 hours.

Thank you for saving me some money! Cleaning out that reservoir was a trip but got a fair chunk of nasty out with a can of air & a couple fill cycles.
One tip I would add is that the side paneling is held in by the nub that would hold the back cover so unscrew that and you'll get lots more space.

Thank you for the video! I couldn't find it anywhere on CZcams. My mom's 2014 SRX has the same issue w/ the hydraulics. Not sure if I'll be capable of doing all that as I don't have a garage full of tools (especially the part where you replaced the hydraulic fluid), but we'll see when the parts arrive... Wish me luck!

I cant get my hydraulic lines to reconnect to save my life ? I did not change the arm just the pump, and lift gate module (3 plugs into it) . Anyone have any ideas ?

Can you just add fluid to make the arm start working again or do you have to do the whole job?

Just found a spot on a Black SRX in the shop bubbled just like that on the roof support. (FCA Tech) I dont do Caddys but wth.

Next time use vise grips on the strut to hold the hatch open!
