Just a quick note to everybody - it appears this mod affects the simulator, and several other aircraft in lots of interesting / negative ways - even when it's not in use. I need to test more - it certainly affects sound in the Carenado aircraft when flying multiplayer.
soooo I can't fly this new 152 then and I can not go back to the prev update me sim did some funny things to it like no panel showing and the stock 152 hmmm. I do rather like the 152 since me dad and i had some real experiance in them especially when there was no 172 for rental so me dad and I took that for a fly ( we only rented never did own an airplane )
When I first downloaded the most recent version, I continually CTD'd. Before and during flight. However, after looking at my Community folder and throwing out a bunch of junk, this finally works wonderfully, especially since I installed the freeware GTN 750. I LOVE this plane now. It's my standard. I decided that I only need a few airplanes in my sim - I realize lots of people want much more. By cutting down on what was in my Community folder, I now have pretty much what I want. Thank you for this review, as it prompted me to try this thing again. As always, VERY professional information presented in a professional manner. You and real737ng driver are the best CZcams presenters I've found so far.

Wow. The nostalgia is strong with this one. I had so much fun flying the 152 back in the day.
RE: "Tumbles" - One of my most epic screw ups resulted in an inadvertent torque roll. The instructor praised my recovery and then dressed me down about not following the procedure I was supposed to read up on.
I love how the gauge needles jiggle from the vibration, I haven't noticed that in any other aircraft. Will definitely be using this airplane.
Several of the commercial add-on aircraft do similar tricks :)

This is just about the only aircraft I have flown since it was first released. Love it! Informative video with some details I was not previously aware of 😊 Would love to see some more videos on it and its new instrument features maybe. Anyway you have given me some more things to try thanks.

Nice video! Note that you can click on the chocks, engine plugs and pitot cover when moving outside, instead of using the tablet. Also look for the hidden clickspot for the new friend/turn coordinator/stall warning on the glareshield above the compass deviation card :)

Despite having several payware I love the old nice C152 and with this further improvements it will became one my favourites GA aircrafts. I did my first flights in a C152, about 15 years ago, then I choosed to do a glider licence but that little C152 remain in my hearth. Thanks for the stunning rewiew.

The JPLogistics 152 had been out for quite a while and has been perhaps one of the best (if not best!) GA aircraft in MSFS. This new upgrade with WBSim makes this a benchmark for other developers, freeware or payware I think! A very enjoyable review, thank you!
There's a problem with it though - it breaks the sound for lots of aircraft when in multiplayer situations - not sure why.

I flew 152s that had no dme equipment. Just had to straight use the clock and dead reckoning/pilotage. This mod adds a lot of luxuries for the 152! Thanks for sharing!

Doing a VFR VATSIM flight is a bit counter-intuitive - VATSIM is really all about IFR with business jets. I will do some more recordings with it though - looking at things like radio navigation.

Very nice looking mod that seems to have done what payware recently did for the Caravan and King Air.
It's getting there.
This mod is so good, it's pay ware level! My GTN 750 option works great! The last mod, before JayDee passed it on, had autopilot. You can turn the autopilot off and on in the flight pad. Of note, which I experienced, if you have the 787 Heavy Division mod installed, the flight pad won't work. Someone brought it to my attention. Jonathan, if you set it to ready to fly, watch the animation as it starts up the plane and at the end, the window opens and the pilot yells out. LOL. I'm not sure what he says but it's a "funny" voice. I nice touch. Also of note, when unzipping the file, you must open the second folder inside and install that. I got a feeling some folks might miss that. Great video as always.

I used this update in the early dates. This update looks phenomenal ! Been away from MSFS FOR A BIT. Maybe time to jump back in.
Now we just need them to simulate the contents of that box after all the tumbling.😂

I don't have the deluxe or premium edition of msfs so i don't have the steam gauge version of the 172
I think the 152 that everyone has is only the G1000 model and not the steam gauge?
@@sascenturion No - the 152 is basic - it has the 6 pack. The 172 has the glass cockpit.

Thanks for sharing. By the way you can activate the GTN750 in the options by downloading the free version of GTN750 from pms50 and adding it to your community folder. The free version will give you most basic functions of the GTN750 which will enable you to carry out flight plans and approach procedures. The paid version will, of course, will give you full functionality.
I used to use the PMS GTN 750 - I'm very well aware of how it works :) I have several videos covering it.
I feel this mod is very realistic an one of my favorites now.
Just a shame it breaks the sound in multiplayer flights if it's present in the sim.
I was hoping there would be an update to this mod one day. It turns an already decent 152 into something special. I'm still trying to set the wheel chocks - I keep seeing N/A on the tablet. I'll get there.
Are you getting "N/A" in the taildragger version? If so, chocks aren't available on that one yet. I installed this mod today (a minor update released yesterday) and I noticed that in the description/readme :)

This is nice, I wish Asobo had done a better job with their aircraft. Couple of bugs in VR but Dev has already acknowledged and working on solutions. 👍
Asobo have targeted the middle of the market on purpose - it's no accident that their aircraft are easy to operate.

Any good gaming PC should be fine. I have a 3.6Ghz I7 with 16Gb fast RAM, a 3080RTX GPU, and a fast SSD. I also have very fast internet (fibre to the house).
@@jonbeckett Thank you. My system is old I7-2600K CPU, 2080 RTX GPU and 16Gb RAM and my internet is only 12 MBps, no AT&T Fibre available yet to our subdivision. I want to build a new computer for MSFS and yours seemed to run really smooth so the info is most helpful. Thank you again.

ok dumb question: why does your Cessna 152 seem to be flying faster? Mine flies slower... like the game is not showing the same speed as your video shows. Are you playing in accelerated mode?
Hi Jonathan, I wonder if you could help, I have the 152 enhancement Mod and am very pleased with it except for one thing, it might be me missing something but every now and then the airspeed indicator doesn't work, it seems to get stuck on zero, am I doing something wrong or is it a glitch?.
Does it happen to be a cold day ? :) Check you have the pitot heat on.

It's the same autopilot that appears in lots of other aircraft - if you search my channel for autopilot, or for GNS430 you'll find lots :)

I did ask you for help on installing this mod but have now found out from another CZcamsr that you do not put the top folder in the community folder but the first folder underneath the top one, it is now installed through that one tip.
Yep - always check what you have unzipped.

Will this mod work on the Cessna 152 G1000 version? Unfortunately I didn't buy the version of FS2020 that comes with the 152 sky hawk and would much rather have the steam gauges than the G1000. If not is there a way to purchase just the sky hawk rather than having to buy the entire sim again at the next level? I should have done more research on what was included in the version I purchased, lol. Cheers

I think the developer pulled it.
A tip for all, at least was my case. This mod has some conflicts with B787 heavy division, in my case with issues on EFB (the tablet). If I remove B787XH folder, then I can use the tablet options.
I don't have the 787 mod - which is obviously why it didn't affect me.

My problem with the C152 in the sim is the unrealistic propeller animation! It's sometimes on nerve to see a piece of black pixels on and off specially at lower rpms
I have followed the download and install instructions on the web page and put the unzipped 152 in the community folder but the aircraft is not showing up in the sim, I must admit this is the first time I have tried to put anything in the community folder, have I done something wrong?.
You probably have a folder inside a folder.
But when I look for the item in the sim eg, thJPLogistics Cessna 152 as in your video, its not in the list of aircraft, the aircraft is in the "contents" section but says, "not installed" and there's no button to say "install", any help please?.
You must have not copied it correctly into your community folder. Check that you don't have a "folder in a folder".

Why is the ALT warning light off when you turn the BAT switch on, but it turns on as the engine starts (ALT switch off) Also, with the engine running it remains on even if the alternator switch is on? POH chapter 7 page 24.
The last version of JPL C152 was working correctly.
BAT sw= on > ALT warning light = on.
ENG running > ALT wl = on.
ALT sw = on & ENG @ ALTwl = on
ALT sw = on & ENG @ >=1000rpm > ALTwl = off; confirming that my ALT is charging the BAT.

Are you sure it is the base default wb-sim C152, with an included livery, or maybe its an addon livery causing this, or even the Boriz Sound Mod.
If it is the actual C152, (which I very much doubt) we will fix it wit apologies... but we do test for these effects, and as far as we know, we do NOT overwrite any other plane's or system files ..
These has recently been introduced a TOOL to test this, so it should be quite easy to see who is messing up who...
When this add-on was released I used it in several group flights. When other aircraft came near, my aircraft took on their sounds. What's more, it's presence within the simulator caused other aircraft to exhibit the same behaviour. As soon as it was removed, the problem went away.

Unzip the ZIP file, and then copy it into your Community folder (google the msfs community folder). Be careful that you don't copy a folder containing the add-on folder. You must only get the folder that contains the actual assets. Again - lots of people have written guides on putting add-ons in the community folder.

I'm guessing you didn't put the correct folder in your community folder. When you unzip it, it's nested inside another folder.
Thx, no, I installed it ok, just didn't expect multiple aircrafts to be installed. Now I have other problem. In realistic mode, my engine keeps dying on me. Fuel is on, mixture is on, but after 5-6 seconds he keep dying on me.
Funny, I only have a problem with 152-Fairing-N2577E model. Anyone else?
What airfield are you flying from?
EGTB Booker (also known as Wycombe Air Park). I have custom scenery for it - it's very good, and not too expensive.
That's an amazing mod, especially for free. So far i have only purchased in-game store items for multiple reasons. Firstly, i don't know which websites that sell airplanes for the sim are 'kosher', and which might be harmful regarding viruses, secondly i don't know how to install a mod, and lastly because of how atrociously long it takes the Microsoft downloader to install the game, i fear my inexperience might lead to me breaking files, which in turn could force me to re-install. At that point i'd be facing a 24-hour download again. I must say this kind of mod really tempts me, and it's not the first time as i have seen some wonderful freeware. I should to start learning about how to fiddle with the game's innards i think, because i'm missing out.
You cannot fiddle with the innards of the game - it's designed to prevent it. That's why there is a "community" folder. Microsoft learned their lesson about software delivery a LONG time ago. That doesn't mean that some 3rd party aircraft do as good a job though - both PMDG and Leonardo insist on filling your user profile on the PC with stuff that absolutely should not be there - and fills your OneDrive account as a result :/
You should certainly look into how to install mods into the community folder because your definitely missing out on some fantastic freeware/ payware add-on's 👍
To make your sim more realistic: delete the b & d bindings!

Thanks Jonathan. All good after a few downloads which were extracted to the community folder, and only the default Textron appeared. Finally succeeded after third try, same download 2.06.

Well its a good Mod but has issues. For one i can never see my friends Pilot in their plane when in multi and they cant see mine. So planes just flying themselves, no pilot Avatars. No matter the settings on the Tab onboard we cant get the pilot Avatars to show for each other. You can see your own but not another players.
It has lots of issues. It messes up the sound for all planes if it's present in the community folder during group flights.
Appears the file is now deleted and in the developers trash can, as reported somewhere I was searching this evening Dec 26, 2023
I think there might have been an argument about rights with the various pieces bolted together to make the aircraft.
This Cessna 152 add on looks like it is no longer available. All the link does is attempt to download other not wanted links ???
There's some sort of enormous fight going on at the moment between numerous developers, and flightsim.to - you have to go to the Discord server to get the download I think.
