I didn’t even finish the video, i had to pause it and tell you that this setup is AAAMAAAZINGGGGGGG. If I had THIS setup, my wife wouldn’t ever see me lol
Thanks dude!🤣🤘
This is crazy. My homemade cockpit just involves a random sock.
😂😂😂
Having a cockpit fully enclosed like really adds to the immersion when you're doing a 2D set up such as this extremely excellent❤
For me, the toughest part is programming all the functionality of the various systems. If you decide to produce further videos please consider a complete How-To on the electronic side of the kit. We’ll done!
Will do!
Love to see this. I was a software engineer for garmin aviation, including this airframe. Looking really great
No way, sick!!! Well then you'll appreciate the refresh I'm doing with it to make it fully scale to the real thing!@@TinyThinkerz
To be honest with chat gpt it became easy
Nice video
The amount of customization and expandabilty people put into their custom cockpits absolutely amazes me.
Yeah, it’s a sickness 😩😂
This is possibly, THE MOST DETAILED youtube video I have ever watched. Now i have goals for my home setup thanks to you
Right on dude!! 🤘🏻
YESSS, BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG, IM SO HAPPY YOU FINISHED THIS!!! GOOD JOB MAN!
Thanks bro👊
SKYTATION LONGITUDE COCKPIT v2.0: Coming soon (Fall/Winter 2023) I will be updating this cockpit into something a little more realistic, but also with some of my own creative liberties factored in 🙂 I will document the build via videos and live streams here on the Skytation channel. Stay tuned!
Sounds cool,
good luck
🤘🏻
The outside looks like a pillow fort I would make as a kid. The inside is a $400 million plane cockpit. Nice job bro
I have a Samsung neo g9 and a liquid cooled NZXT prebuilt with a 3080ti. You have similar hardware 👍 same monitor and tower.
This is the only substitute i'd be happy with over vr. You can flip it to a space ship , a car ,a boat , or submarine
Submarine 😂😂🤘
Incredible job here sir! Life is good on evenings and weekends for you! I just flew the Longitude for the first time a few minutes ago after upgrading to the Premium Deluxe version, what a beautiful cockpit (IRL and yours). I will be keeping an eye out for your upgrades to the cockpit!
Thanks for watching man! Yes, definitely stay tuned for more, also swing in for a livestream flight if you ever get a chance… Wednesday evenings around 9pm CST and Saturday and Sunday’s around 2pm CST every week!
Those side windows and the view you get from them - wow 🙌🏼
🙂🤘
Perspective on them is off though. Needs some adjustment.
@@darthmelbius Yep, check out some of the latest flight streams, it has been dialed in 🤘
What a lovely cockpit! The work gone behind the scenes can easily tell us with a quality cockpit you have. Cheers!
Thank you!👍 Yeah it was definitely a lot more than just building a structure, throwing a few seats in, and pushing some monitors up against the sides 🤣 Once I started down the rabbit hole, there was no turning back!
This turned out amazing! So realistic.
Thanks!
This is by far the coolest home cockpit I've ever seen. So sick . Love the lighting , the layout is just so cool
Thanks! Hope to have some live stream flights coming from it real soon.... stay tuned!!!🤘
This is one of the coolest. There's some crazy stuff around like the guy who has a real boeing cockpit on his garage.
@@joca1378 yes! I’ve seen that dude! That’s a pretty hardcore setup.
Have you ever seen a real cockpit?
@@AlphaWolf198 Yes, I've seen a few real cockpits. I even travelled inside the cockpit of a small 12 seater in Africa when I was a kid.
You failed to mention the crab eye effect. Every home cockpit uploads on youtube show the camera in a fixed centered position which doesn't show it. The crab eye effect is when you're sitting in either the pilot or co-pilot seat and the lines don't line up with your seating position. A perfect example is taxing, taking off and landing. At 24:24 you can see it in your video during the taxi test, but for the majority of it your camera was filming from the center. Once in the air you don't notice it, but on the ground it feels like you're moving sideways thus the crab eye effect.
Yep, definitely a pain for sure, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I just set my view to the center and leave it for the entire flight. Like you said, really only notice it on the ground.
Very good , a clean modular look. I’ve been attempting to do the same to be able to switch between a GA Aircraft and a Heavy (Boeing 777/787). With your design I’ve been inspired to keep it clean and simple. Again, Great Job!!
Right on, can’t wait to see it!🤘🏻
Awesome, enjoy it. Thanks for sharing!
THANKS!
As someone who hasn't played around with Flight Simulator since the late 80's/early 90's, this is mind boggling. What am I even looking at? And I thought some of the driving cockpits that people make are impressive. Just wow!
Thanks dude!🤘🏻
This looks great, man! I just finished my type ride in the Longitude a few weeks ago and I’m really excited to be flying it. I’ll definitely be watching your channel to see all the cool stuff to come!
SICK! Yeah stop by the streams sometime, I need someone who flies these in real life to tell me what I’m doing wrong 😂🤘🏻
so nice lol and its DIY no way its so clean, modern, sleek and is just overall so so nice. I could not think of enough words to fully compliment this cockpit
Thanks man! Got an entirely new one coming soon!🤘🤘🤘
One thing i did with a similar build I had done was get slightly larger screens and left a gap between the frame and the screens while adding a plastic window between me and screens. This , since the screens were larger than the frame window not only allowed a natural viewing change for minor head movements creating the illusion that there was more below the windows but also created alot more depth in perception .
Yep, considered this, but decided to go with them pushed up against. In my refresh of the cockpit, though, I will be doing a projector wrap around screen so it will allow for what you’re talking about👍🏻
Beast Mode ! This is so awesome, and I love it, great job ! The taxi view is on point !!!!!
Thanks! Yeah I think all the fields of view are lining up pretty well! Now if they'd just optimize the multi-view feature so it didn't take such a toll on resources 😉
Very nice! I'm building a cockpit myself, this is great inspiration! I am using xplane though, computer isnt strong enough for msfs. I love the lighting and extra gimmicks, makes the whole thing look absolutely beautiful.❤
Thanks, can't wait to see to what you come up with!
I am blown away and subbed to your channel. I love the cockpit, it is great. Thank you for sharing it with us. My favorite plane is the Cockspur C510 Mustang small jet, and I could see myself flying it with a setup like yours.
That’s a fun little jet, the mustang. Thanks for watching, make sure to stick around… project transformer is about to get underway!🤘🏻
My favourite cockpit yet. Well done!
Thanks dude!🤘
What an excellent setup. The air vents are great.
🤘
This guy is the Bob Villa of aircraft sim building
I prefer Tim the Tool Man Taylor, but thanks 🤣
Floored by this! Thank you for the video and outstanding simpit
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just discovered your channel today.
That cockpit design is premo man.
Really, great job 👏🏻 ❤
Thanks man!🤘It's actually in pieces right now, it's getting a full redesign.... stay tuned!
I just found your video. You are a godsend!!! You have links for everything!! Thank you!! I know you spend a lot of time putting up these links. Most CZcamsrs don't understand that putting up links for the items helps their videos. I hope you have a sponsor !!!
Cool thanks man!🤘 plenty more to come, refreshing the entire cockpit as we speak!
That toggle clamp to hold the seat is just ingenious!
Yep, struggled for weeks trying to over-engineer some sort of genius design.... then went to my garage and said oh, that'll work! 😂
That looks amazing. Great job.❤
Looks great. Really like the clean layout.
Thanks!🤘
Very nice, very practical lay out, aesthetically pleasing and i would imagine a joy to use. Many of these DIY contraptions are just weird and creepy, yet this marvel ticks all the boxes.
Thanks dude 🤘
That’s awesome! ✨👏🏽✨
Thanks dude!
This was a fascinating video! Thank you for showing your setup in such great detail. Lots to take away and implement. I would love to see a video on how you set up your stream decks, especially the SD plus. Thank you!!
You bet, thanks for watching! Yes, I am currently working on a part 2 of the video that goes over a few of the details a bit more in depth, including the stream decks setup. Stay tuned!
this is awesome man!
Thanks dude!🤘 stay tuned for a completely updated build coming here in the future
I bet this video is way better with voice over rather than live commentary. Great sim build too! Gives some inspiration about whats possible with DIY stuff. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
That is one incredible home setup! Kudos to you! Great to have a 3D printer for custom parts! All the best from Canada!
Thanks! Make sure to stick around, it’s going to get MUCH better here in the next couple months. Stay tuned!
That's a cool build! Good job!
Thanks 🤘
GREAT LOOKING SIM!! VERY CLEAN LOOKING!! Thanks for showing your baby!!
Any time!
W.O.W. The best home simulator I've seen
🤘
Woah chill bro, it's not that serious, it's just a game. Just kidding, I love that setup man! Good job! I bet it feels so real when you are sitting in there.
Ah yeah man, it’s awesome, I love it 🤘
Brilliant setup, inspiring stuff. Thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well now that is just too damn cool.
🤘
Incredible :) have fun with it, it's a really great job mate, cheer from France
Thanks!!!
Mate this is such a nice setup. Love the aircon too. It’s tempting me to make one
Go for it!!!🤘🏻
Cool flight Cockpit mate 😀
Thanks bud🤘
That is incredible!!
Thanks man🤘🤘🤘
I cant thubs up this enough. Love the set up. 👍👍
Thanks man, much appreciated. If you liked this, stay tuned to the channel for "project transformer".... even MORE home cockpit goodness!
Thats awesome man
Thanks man!🤘
Best thing sbout this type of setup is it could be easily adapted into other genres such as space sims. Great design
Thanks! Yeah my goal was to only ever fly the Longitude in the cockpit, but on the rare chance I'd ever want to fly something else it def can be set up fairly easy to accommodate other planes....or even other games like you say!
Dude. You living the dream.
Hell yeah brother 🤘
Very cool, man!!
Thanks!👍🤘
Fantastic cockpit!! Beutiful work!!! 😃👍💯
Thanks! Inspired by your home cockpit 100%, been following you for several years! Really liking the recent vids you've been putting out. Have you upgraded you visuals, or are you just using a single front screen/tv?
1 front view only still. Djort throw projector. Thinking about using a fisheye lens and building a curved screen. We had a curved screen years ago but it was pointless. Theres not enough space for more projectors but s projector eith fisheye lens might work. Or we try a similar setup as your setup. Do you have a how to video about your outside view setup??
Yeah, I considered projectors as well, but I had heard some people say the lackluster resolution isn't worth having the bevel free views. My monitors weren't anything special, the 49" curved front I had running at 5120x1440, and the two side views were 34" ultra wides running at 2560x1080. I chose them specifically because I wanted them to fit the window cutouts and essentially act as the actual "windows" and not just monitors. Worked ok, I enjoyed it, but in the rebuild here I think I'm going to go for TVs, that way I can get a little bit more screen real estate, but then also have them set back from the window openings a little more to allow me to look out and around. Also going to shoot for 4K. Doubt my PC is going to be able to handle three 4K outputs, but I have some ideas for that, we'll see!@@per-davidalm1434
This has to be one of the best home sims I have ever seen. Beaten only by people that have built near replicas of commercial airliners. I love the sinplicity and modern looks of your sim. Well done. I am still in the process of designing / making mine. But mine will be converting between work desk and flight sim. No room for a dedicated simulator space.
Yeah, that was definitely the first big decision I had to make.... do I go for ultra real, making every single button, switch, and lever perfect scale replicas? While that would have been cool, I thought it more wise to build something that I could always adapt with. As much as I'd like to say I only want to ever fly the Longitude until the end of time, I know realistically that won't be the case. I'll want to try out other planes and the stream deck button setup allows me to do that. It works best for my use case, and honestly that would be my number one tip for anyone wanting to build a home cockpit.... do what makes the most sense for YOU, not what everyone else thinks you should do.
@skytation I agree. I am going a similar route. I have two main touchscreens with, a knobster and two streamdecks between them. I should be able to immersively, though not realistically, control most planes. I am not studying to be a real pilot so it doesn't matter to me if the controls are of the right type or are in the right position compared to the real aircraft. All that matters is that they are there somewhere and intuitive to use.
@@flightsimdeskuk 100% Keep me updated on the progress, can't wait to see it!
OP should REALLY let us know what kind of scene he met his spouse at--clearly ALOT of patience and love in this video, behind the scenes!! LOL Congrats!!
Amazing setup
🤘🏻
QUE ENVIDIA!! jajaja Lo felicito! muy buen trabajo, espero lo este dsifrutando!! Saludos desde Argentina
Yo that's fricken Awesome!!!!
Thanks!!
Stunning!
Thanks!🙌
Beautiful. This could get me out of VR for sure.
Nice, thanks!
just bought a thrustmaster HOTAS for my flight sim, i'm good for now but damn!
That's one impressive setup you have there
Nice, you’ll enjoy it🤘
This is impressive. Nice job!
Thanks!🤘
Love the setup!!!
I also started with the Thrustmaster pedals when I was a student pilot. After a while, one of the pedals just broke off... Then I ordered the SLAW Device Viper RX pedals, and never looked back. 😊 Tweaking/upgrading the setup comes with the territory; Virpil and VKB also make some awesome components for the sim... beware the rabbit hole goes very deep. 😂
Nice! Yeah I’m gonna design and built my own here in the v2.0 cockpit refresh 🤘
Super device here! Nicely done!
Thanks!!
Awesome build!!
Thanks!👍
At first I was like "what is this junk?" - as soon as you opened the curtain, my jaw HIT THE GROUND - WOW
🤣🤘
Just found your channel, talk about the WOW factor, impressive.....
Thanks bro🤘
beautiful setup! must feel so fun to fly in
Absolutely it is! Plenty of flight videos coming soon!
Your Cockpit looks so cool. 👍
🤘
This is incredible! I’d really like to build something like this based on the RV-14. My kids and I have been enjoying some flights together so this would be a project we could work on together. Keep up the great work!
Excellent! Yes, projects like this are definitely memory makers and great time to spend with the kids.
You deserve a million views man. Great job!
Thanks for watching man!🤟
love it, this is super cool!
🤘
this is awesome dude!
Thanks man!🤘🏻
Great Job 😱
Thanks screech! 😂🤘🏻 A+ profile pic.
Simply amazing! Thanks for the tour. This is the only kind of setup that could ever get me out of VR I think. Unlikely to happen any time soon though. 😅
🤘 yeah VR is tough to beat!
Wow, this is nicer than my house!!!
Looks better than any Flight Deck! Airbus and Boeing scratching their heads in the Office:)
😂 Boeing and AB about to invest in a LOT of stream decks!
For those wondering the monitor alone in the uk that main front window monitor is £2'000 without a single switch cable tie or curtain hook included.
Thats a serious dedication to go to all that effort and expense, Bravo on your commitment to flight sim.
🤘🤘🤘
really nice
👊🤘
Congratulation!
🤟
😱🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 omg, this looks so cool. Amazing job👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!🤘🏻
How do you set up the window view like that?
that is super cool
Thanks 🤘
Really cool!
🤘
excellent !
Thanks for watching!🤘🏻
Ho Lee Fook! That's thee setup right there.
🤘 thanks bud
Beyond Impressive. I vow, some day and I mean some day - I will never afford this but I wish !
🤘🏻
Gorgeous finish. Wish i had the skills. Good job :)
Thanks!
awesome!!!!
🙂🤘
THATS SO COOL! I WISH I HAD ONE!
Thanks man🤘
Skytation look so Beautiful
As someone who has never played or experienced Microsoft Flight Simulator, my opinion doesn't matter, but dude, I'm gonna be SO mad if you don't have the inflatable Autopilot from Airplane!
Edit - Do flight simulators have a "Distraction training" mode? Where, you'd just be doing... whatever you usually do in the simulator -- I imagine it's not a "video game" that you can "win" but, I digress -- and every four and a half minutes, you just hear Leslie Nielsen, "Just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you."
🤘thanks man
if you think about it, it's kind of like a set on a filming stage. The outside looks like this , then inside is better clean and streamlined.
That is one of the best-looking home simulators. Hopefully you never have to move.
You're telling me! 😧 Hahahaha
amazing! the side monitors are quite stretched because MSFS doesnt do multi-monitor support properly.
It’s the angle you’re seeing them from. The view is not stretched at all when sitting in the cockpit. The multi monitor support MSFS currently offers does ok, just wish each window’s view could be controlled independently.
This is best setup I’ve seen in terms of both functionality and aesthetics. It looks amazing.
The part I can’t figure out is how you got your wife to pick up materials for the project while she was out. You need to write a book on that aspect alone.
😂
Thanks!
Thank you dude, much appreciated! 🤘🏻
Phenomenal ❤
🤘
This s*** is crazy, i love it 👏🏽
YEAH!!!!🤘🤘🤘
