    This flying box is the predecessor of the Shorts 330, another boxy skinny winged commuter, with just a bit more aerodynamics. The 330 has Pratt and Witney PT-6s as well. For those that have the Black Box offering of that plane (and its successor the S 360) you can see the lineage of the manner the switches are done.

    Why is the ALT warning light off when you turn the BAT switch on, but it turns on as the engine starts (ALT switch off) Also, with the engine running it remains on even if the alternator switch is on? POH chapter 7 page 24. The last version of JPL C152 was working correctly. BAT sw= on > ALT warning light = on. ENG running > ALT wl = on. ALT sw = on & ENG @ <1000rpm > ALTwl = on ALT sw = on & ENG @ >=1000rpm > ALTwl = off; confirming that my ALT is charging the BAT. I'm only an old Sim Pilot, so bare with me!

    Hi Jonathan. Great video. I love the 'normal' way you show things without all the jargon. I have been slowly learning how to set up and fly to (hopefully) land......I must be doing things wrong because on my descent with everything on managed mode, suddenly the speed increases well over its safety tolerance. Sometimes the speed slows to just above stalling. I am not sure how the perf on MCDU is programmed and I would love to master this. I am on Series X.

    Thank you Jonathon. VOR has always been something of a mystery to me, having only flown VFR or with GPS in the past. Pretty steep learning curve but by the time I had completed the tour and landed safely back in Southend in the pouring rain, I think the system was securely imprinted in to my brain.     Hi can u do me a fever and see if the shortcut for auto pilot all work like heading and then laugh mode because I use my shortcut button on my Xbox controller to put on the auto pilot and then you have mode for the plane to follow the GPS and then you know I can control my attitude does not work with this year. I wonder if it works.

    The autopilot is trash though. Fun to fly without it, but it just does not work at all. It keeps an altitude and speed, but the heading command is screwed up. My plane wants to constantly bank left and will NOT take a heading command!!!! Very erratic.

    How do you hold/set speed on the ATR? I know it doesn't hold speed like the A320N I've been learning to fly in sim recently so it's interesting to learn.

    I cant taxi this aircraft. It just wont steer. It veers to the right uncontrollably. I turned on my tiller controls rudder options and it makes the wheel turn but the aircraft still cant turn under my own control. Seriously hope they fix this soon
