HOLA muchas gracias!
Great tips once again Otto! I'm getting better at vlogging using the Pocket 2
hello Frank! that's good to know!
Awwww yeah. My favorite camera for vlogging. I'm just starting the video, but I'm smiling like a giddy kid on Xmas eve.
yeah this camera is great!
Great video very helpful. Thanks Otto.

Great man! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
very useful video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
que buen video!! primera vez que me queda claro este tema, pensaba que 60 fps era lo mejor en muchos casos, ahora me queda claro que no. Thanks!!

Hello from Manila, the Philippines! I'm a new DJI Pocket 2 user. Thank you for your video topics regarding pocket 2. It helps me a lot!
hello hello! how is Manila doing today? You are welcome! there are other videos on my channel regarding the dji Pocket 2, feel free to take a look at them

obrigado!!
This was very helpful. Especially about low light situations. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful Greg
Thank you
hello Kevin!!! Thanks!!!
Otto! Just checking in my friend. I haven't watched in a while but wanted to see if you are still awesome. Don't worry, you are! And guess what, the ad I saw at the beginning of this was for the Snoppa Dolly. Very appropriate for your channel. :-) It looks like you were using something like that in your b-roll around the guitar players. But man, you are still the king of beautiful b-roll. I'm going to have to study more of your recent videos to see what fun experiment I want to try next. Hope you're doing well brother!
Matt!!! How are you doing! thanks for your comment! actually when I did that shot with the guys playing the guitar I used my own feet lol. No dolly, nothing. Not much new around here Matt, I also stopped by your channel a few days ago and I've seen many improvements. You are a fast learner. Have a great day Matt!
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks Otto! Sometimes I feel like I'm learning way too slow. I'll make a couple of good videos, and then a crappy one. Oh well. I just keep on going. 🙂
Here in Australia (PAL and 50hz power) we use 25p and 50p and they are divisible for editing - daylight 50p and nighttime 25p
yes! that's right! I didn't want to touch on that matter because I felt it was going to be confusing for some people. Explaining the whole 24 vs other frame rate was a bit challenging as I was trying to be precise without being a headache for beginners. Thanks for your comment Barry
Thank you very much. Perfect, now I understand. My style is Vlogs, so I'll use 1080 at 24Fps. Thank you very much.
You are welcome!
@@OttoJulian_ Muito Obrigado. Thank you.
Eu normalmente filmo meus vlogs do Canal em 1920x1080 60 FPS e depois da edição renderizo em 1920x1080 30 FPS
excelente!!
Osmo Pocket 3 was announced!! Awaiting your review before I get it. It looks cool with the bigger display. :)
Indeed. Will have a bunch of videos sooner than you think 😁
@@OttoJulian_ OMG! You already have it then? :O Nice. I am watching someone else's video on it now. It looks like they took some suggestions I had and implemented them into the new model. Man, it's pricey though! :O
why i have low res preview on my screen and the videos look bad quality i dont understand
which screen are we talking about? Pocket 2? Phone? Computer? If it's on the computer, you need to select 4K on the Pocket 2, if you are recording at night or in low light conditions, your videos will not look too good
How about sport cameras gopro/insta360 rs one 4k boost mounted on front glass inside car .
You still will recommend 24fps and 1/50 shutter ?
I am scoring complete blacout iso 1600 driving close to trees even on bike .
for action cameras like Gopro I prefer to use auto settings (I tend to bypass the 180 degree rule for those cameras, this helps the stabilization system which I like to prioritize
Otto, I'm touring Europe for a month and bought this as my camera. I hardly do editing and am using this mostly just to capture what I see outside. If I'm taking 30-1 min videos outside of buildings, do you recommend using 24fps?
Yeah, the 24fps will give you a more natural motion blur. Shooting at 60fps will give you a more “fluid” but unnatural motion. You can search for 60fps videos on CZcams so you get an idea.
thanks otto,, what u suggest for someone who does FOv and walking videos,,, 30 fps or 60 fps ,, i am not into 24 much but i guess 30 is better anyhow , and if we shoot at 30 but export at 60 , will it have slower videos ,, thanks
yeah 30 is very good and quite accepted, more fluid and still retains motion blur. about exporting at 60, no, you will get choppy footage, because you are trying to place 30 frames into a 60 frame "container". that means you are missing 30 other frames to fill that "container"
Hi can you help me. When I record i get so many files. I shoot long video's and there are a lot of files maybe 10 to 14. Is there a setting that will keep it in just one file? I do not stop it. Then when I put it in the edit softwire there are so many files . Thanks
no, the Pocket 2 and even the new Pocket 3 will split your video into smaller ones.
Nice 👌👏
Thank you! Cheers!
I just purchased my first pocket 2 and was wondering how to update firmware manually or can anyone tell me what the latest update is?
update with the mimo app. Current firmware is 1.03.00.10
brlliant video...
Glad you liked it!! Thanks
Hi Otto, what's the difference between 4k mode and HDR mode on the pocket 2?
HDR will improve the dynamic range of the video
Dear Otto, what is the application to install for dji pocket 2 and how to get it nowadays?
Thank you in advance.
hello! dji mimo app. If you are using an iPhone go to the app store. For Android go to their website and download from them.

Excellent tips - I want my girlfriend to use my Pocket 2 to capture video of my band. The challenge is low and/or inconsistent lighting. I would love to see a video with tips on using the Pocket 2 to video a band in a bar.
That’s a challenging environment. I think it was already mentioned in this video but your best bet is 24 fps, 4K, and keep the ISO as low as you can. 100-400 might not work and maximum values are going to get lots of noise.
The sensor in this camera is too small, if that doesn’t work, I think you will have to move to another device
I use outdoors 50fps and 25 indoors. Yes it is important to understand camera mechanics especially how exposing sensor works. I have seen so many using 60 in low light and they believed The bigger The better. I just face palm and recommend camera cources and not trying to teach by myself because there are too much to tell.
agreed! this topic gets confusing for so many people!
That was Chicago in a clip or two.! You live here or travel here ?
Yes that was Chicago. I made a trip that time, are you from Chicago ?
which memory card are you using
samsung brand, lately sandisk Extreme 128GB
Waiting for pocket 3
LET me tell you a secret: ME TOO!!
But what about 30fps?
Not a lot of people use 30fps, but yeah if you edit on a 24fps timeline it will give you a slight slow motion feeling that in my opinion looks good. If you shoot 30fps and edit in that same timeline, it’s a good combination but in my case I’d rather stick to 24fps
So lets say a walking video at night, then you recommend 4K 24 fps?
You got that right !!
@@OttoJulian_ Thank you, i watched one of your other vids about the different mode, what is the mode called when you lock the camera so its straight at all times? like no matter how bumpy you move its still straight
Lock mode
2.7 k with 24 fps is ok for recording ?
yeah it's going to be ok
@@OttoJulian_ thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like your stuff Otto. "The Hobbit" was unwatchable especially the CGI so 48 FPS -- I could not watch that movie... Not a criticism of Otto :-) Just a comment on his 48 FPS comment in the "The Hobbit."
thanks man!
Hello sir julian otto 👋❤️
Ardie!! Hello! Thanks for watching
Why this camera looks choppy, even in 30 FPS ? I don't understand. Iphone 11 is better in 4K 30 FPS, it looks a more smooth than the Osmo Pocket 2. I decide so to turn into 50 FPS for vlogging with the OP2... But I really prefer 30 FPS, shame !
It should not look choppy at all. Are you editing your 30fps videos on a 30fps timeline (in your editing software)
@@OttoJulian_ thank you for your answer 🙏🏻
I always make a project in 29,97 fps yes, as the 30 fps DJI drones and cameras are in real. It is written 30 fps when recording with the Osmo Pocket 2 or my Mini 3 Pro drone, but the file is 29,97 fps.
I think the automatic settings for record on the Osmo Pocket 2 is not as good as an Iphone ? (I don’t want to use ND filters with my OP2 because I want something practable and easy to turn on/off. I will be on the Camino de Santiago, no time enough to adjust the ND, unfortunately.
But really, when I record with the Iphone 11, it looks less choppy 🤷🏻♂️
But love the OP2 for its « easy » pop. Small and light, plus a good wireless micro
Agreed you are doing the right thing regarding your main project and I also understand it when you say that you want it simple without using nd filters. If you have a sample of said footage please send me a link on my Instagram
@@OttoJulian_ Is it possible to use a ND filter with the exposure in automatic, please ? Maybe it could be a good idea like this if it works. Just to add a bit of motion blur during the day walk. Less choppy because of a high exposure (250-400)... Maybe with a ND 4, it could stay between 50 and 200 max ? Just remove the ND filter when I go indoors.
Why 24 not 30? And other question: 48 or 60? In 60 you don' t have tracking
30fps can also be used instead of 24fps, but like I said, majority of people will prefer (or are used to) 24 for natural blur. 60 fps if you want to slow down the footage, but if you need tracking then use 48fps, you get a bit less of the slow motion effect but you get tracking mode
@@OttoJulian_ ok, thanks Otto
No problem
I'm more confused lol. too many caveats.
hi Harry! yeah it is a complex topic and there is a lot to digest, I'll be making a follow up video soon
Hi Otto, can it be possible to take blurred background video using Pocket 2? Please kindly advise. 🤍🙏🏻
it will depend, just a bit, but not like with a more professional camera
@@OttoJulian_ I see. Thank you 🙏🏻😊
