    First time watching your ch. , happy to see your enthusiasm for the greatest hobby ever...? I'm all over the place thinking about what would be the 2nd best hobby ? ⌛ I think I will wait for you to come up with a solid selection and then I can see what else you have in your playlist. What I have been using for removing substrate has been a few different sizes of dust pans the most important thing to make it essential is that the handle has some strength and the leading edge has the rubber or similar material. That and I have some good squeegees, spray bottle and the newest is from The Container store or Walmart and it's a giant spatula for monster cookies so I had to buy it. 💲 Take care of yourself and now I am ready for a good coffee and enjoy the day baking giant cookies 😂

      Appreciate the comments, 2nd best hobby for me has to be plants or video games lol. Thank you for the tips on substrate removal tools. 🙏 I’ll be snagging some for my next breakdown. What kind of coffee is your favorite?

      @@AquascapeOdysseyhad to be plants and I have been growing all the typical indoor plants and a few outdoor projects in the summer over the last 20 years. It's not that big of an investment but the benefits are so underrated and I don't think I have used that word ever since it's always been overused lol. My first official paycheck was from working at BUTTERFIELDS Nursery and I will never forget that intense perfume from all the different flowers and eucalyptus , etc. I was working on the Chris tree lot and I have been remembering that being one of the best jobs especially since the Holidays were such a part of my memory growing up with Norwegian parents who never had any interest in trying the latest ways to get rich , lose weight , regrow your lawn & a full head of hair 🤔 Traditional big time but not a selfie taking by either one of them. So I was just about as old as I think it's possible when I was one day never drank coffee and the following day I was hooked and the best thing about the way you mentioned you were not a fish keeper until Neo's got you ❔ The thing that started my interest in drinking coffee started from seeing the first Italian espresso machine in action was just a little different than that piece of plastic stinky Mr. Coffee my parents were sadly happy to see every single morning as long as I lived there and I have managed to make sure I have denied myself the pleasure of setting it and forgetting coffee . As far as my favorite either Jamaica Blue Mountains or Hawaiian Kona or the one I have had the most by a mile is Cota Rican La Minita Peaberry. That is usually made everyday in a 4 cup press and summer eventually I will start making a gallon of cold press which is what I have to say is as smooth as possible and then starts the mind awakening experience like only a coffee can ... Aquascaping is not far behind . So I didn't hear what you normally would say regarding the next Aquarium you are going to set up other than you said it was 12 gallons ❔ I was just wondering because I just got my first bookshelf and I have been wanting one for years and it's the UNS 90B , I have been slowly getting it dialed in the way I have been doing it for years and I'll be happy to spill the details next video I will watch. That reminds me to say I love the re-scape of the future Neo tank and....... don't think I should start with Shrimp or I'll be missing my tee time as it's officially Midnight in the Land of
      10k Lakes 🐚🦐🦆

      I had some kinda coffee when I was out in Hawaii a few years back. Nothing like getting it freshly roasted. Yes I made a nano tank to fill time before my next bigger build, as thing get shipped to me. Just posted that nano build. Mine is also the 90B. Almost got the 90L but the shelf I bought only had 10” of depth to it and the 90L is 12” deep. So sticking with the 90B. Getting excited with everything arriving. Also plan on having Co2 in it to excel the plant growth on startup.

    You may have mentioned this but I did not hear it, what are the floaters you are using in the final shot? Great vid overall! New to the hobby as well and nice to see another Arizonian in the hobby!

    I don't get how you get those red stem plants so vivid in colour without co2 injection. Did you use a filter when editing or is this how they are? What are the names of them? Ludwigia red? Beautiful setup. Really lovely

      Thank you for the kind words. It is all just lighting, no filters in my content. I talk about it in my next video on aquarium lights, it will be posted next Monday. And which ones? I planted Rotala Sp. Reds and Ludwigia Natans Sp. Red.

    awesome tank which filter you using , do you think an Eheim 4 250 will be too much flow for a tank this size ? thanks

    • @AquascapeOdyssey
      @AquascapeOdyssey  Před měsícem

      I think that is perfect, too much flow isn't bad. The flow force is typically the issue. I'm using the Fluval 207 now in this tank. In the old scape I used the 107.

    Just wondering, did you ever switch from the twinstar light to the chiros slim?

    • @AquascapeOdyssey
      @AquascapeOdyssey  Před měsícem

      Yes I did!!! I need to make a video update soon of the tank. Have any questions??

    • @brianholzwart800
      @brianholzwart800 Před měsícem +1

      @AquascapeOdyssey I have a 29 gal bow and am looking for a light that is wider and bright enough to light up the whole tank. Tried a fluval plant 3 and others, but they,re just too thin. Though I love the fluval for my 55 because the tank in general is narrow. Just give me your honest opinion on brightness, ease of use (app), how good it is for plants, and value for the price

    • @AquascapeOdyssey
      @AquascapeOdyssey  Před měsícem

      @@brianholzwart800 the slim is about almost double the depth of the twinstar and one main reason I upgraded was the twinstar A series didn’t really reach the full light depth to the bottom of the tank, the slim does it all and the app is super user friendly. And the reds just pop with no C02. Just a tip don’t run it as long as your other lights its spectrum is super strong.

    • @brianholzwart800
      @brianholzwart800 Před měsícem

      @@AquascapeOdyssey would the twinstar A be good for a 6 gal long? Do they have dimmer controls?

    • @AquascapeOdyssey
      @AquascapeOdyssey  Před měsícem

      @@brianholzwart800 depends on if you have Reds, I’d go with their mid-tier. I’m testing reds on the A-line right now on a tall nano. Nowhere near as customized as the chihiros line. You can buy an additional timer and dimmer for $19.99 on Amazon.
