So I too your advice on board guys and got a nice substrate for the tank. I can see that TRC (Te Ranchu Crew) love it already. I was also sent an air pump and air stones system from All Pond Solutions as I had seem so bubbles used in a cool way in a different video. I will probably add in some sponge filters too at some point.
One thing I'm learning fast is that you cannot have enough filtration with goldfish....they are DIRTY! Haha.
Anyway, bit of a vlog style I guess. Hope you LIKE!

I imagine the reason Jenny of Solid Gold hasn't uploaded in a while is due to the same health issues that caused her to need to take a break from CZcams in the first place.
And like you, she is the reason I go into goldfish and now Ranchu are my favourites

Goldfish are like little water puppies. The bubbles will add so much life to the tank and the studio. The sound and light they create make everything more lively.

I grew up with goldfish. So did my housemate- my elderly mother. Iâve got a 30 gal tank sitting there empty, because she wants goldfish, I donât mind goldfish, but I do planted tanks and didnât think I could have both. Thank you so much for showing me Iâm wrong!

I'm glad you shed the tetras for this one. Even as a planted aquarist, the hobby is so much more fun when you remember that fish are the main objective. This separates you from the somewhat snooty ADA crowd. If you just want to grow plants, I feel you could just start a greenhouse instead of a fish room. I love the Ranchu Crew.

Your bit at the End about Jenny was very serendipitous. I was watching this video on my tv and it made me think of her so I hopped over to her channel on my phone to see of she had posted because it's been a while. Saw it's been 6 months then you mentioned her name and how she inspired you. That made me smile. I do hope she is doing well I know that fish room of hers was BEAUTIFUL and I wish I could see more.

This is genuinely one of the best goldfish aquariums I've seen. Personally I wouldn't use airstones just have the spray bar breaking the surface of the water.
Thanks very much. In person, the airstones are great. And the water seems even more...pure now?? hard to explain. but yeah, not going to be to everyones taste
In my goldfish tank I use the airstones during the day but have them on a timer to turn off at night. :)

I always come back to goldfish, I love their personality and attitude. Videos like yours are climbed to get me in trouble, as Iâm seriously considering getting a 75 for three orandas or some like yours!
This is by far my favorite goldfish set up! I currently have my plants potted, I may have to borrow from your scape and hide some of the pots with moss covered rocks.

The number one reason to use a sponge filter is to have a backup source of biological filtration, just in case your canister has a failure. The tank is looking amazing, well done!

Looks great! Only problem you might come across is floating plants don't like water on them and the bubbles would keep a mist on them and they will melt away. But like you said.. you gotta try new things. Keep us updated!
I'm watching this video because I'm getting prepared for owning some goldfish, I don't know yet what type will I have, I like all types of goldfish, but I'll choose the one I like the most, I really love any shubunkin, some black moor too, but I'm also interested on telescope or commet, but now, with pumpkin... I'm just in love with that fish, and I think now I have a favorite type of fish, any fish that looks like pumpkin. Adorable đđ
I miss solid gold as well. You could just tell how passionate she was. I hope she comes back. I think the tank looks so much better with the gravel now. Pulls it all together. I would love some of these gold fish. They're just adorable. Unfortunately I just don't have the space for the size of tank they would need but one day in the future hopefully.

Goldfish + black substrate shows waste even more than bare bottom. It looks amazing now with that gray sand. And goldfish love sand. I love that you added substrate. Looks. Great!! đ

i like the previous version of the gold fish tank...it looked calm-er...now it still looks good but lot more energetic.
The sand definitely makes it stand out. It was nice before. Now it looks complete.
I didn't think I was going to like the gravel, but I actually do. It blends the island with the rest of the tank and makes it all more cohesive. The bubbles are great for the little water piglets, đ
My vote is for the white clouds, they are such an under rated gorgeous fish, great for cooler tanks and not picky about food.

What i know about fancy goldfish is that if you feed them high quality food that aids their digestion, you will find that they poo quite less and their poo has a dusty texture. The poo will float around a little and the fish will munch it till it turns to dust. Its best to keep them in a bare bottom tank with no decors because decors and substrates trap poo. I have 35+ medium size fancy goldfish in a 6f tank and i barely see any poo. Water quality is clear. They maybe are poo machines but it really depend on the food you give. They are actually really clean fish. I love them the most.

always learning.. thanks...The only thing I change in that is the white air tubes for black , because of the black background...but it's just a detail.. and jeremy already commented on "ad a plexiglass cover over the bubbles where they break the surface. Doesnât seem like much but it will absolutely soak the wall and floor behind the tank." , that happens to me.. greetings

I have two calico fantails which I bought about six seven months ago. Needless to say they are outgrowing their 10 gallon tank so we have bought them a 55 gallon that we are in the process of setting up and seasoning. Love this video. It has given me a lot of great ideas for the 55. I knew I wanted to do live plants this time. They've always had a plant or two in their tank but this will be my first foray into scaping.
Will be interesting to see if the plants survive with airs tones. Good luck.

I completely understand the love you have for your goldfish! I have a discus tank and an angelfish tank and when I got a 125 gallons, everyone thought I would place my discus in there. Oh no! I went with goldfish! Oranda's are so stinking cute and all goldfish are just extremely active and fun to look at. I adore your scape! So much so, that I'm currently getting the stuff together so I can replicate it in my 125. Love all your work, but I think this one is my favorite đ
