The architects for this project were PACT Design Studio in Bryan Texas. I’m proud to say that I work at PACT and can attest to this being one of our favorite projects in the last few years. We love every chance that we get to work with great clients, unique sites, and sustainable design strategies. 🎉 Great video!
So a question I've had on my mind, which seems very relevant given this episode. How does the cost structure of ground mount solar compare to rooftop solar? I don't know anything about the work, materials, etc but my intuition has always told me that if you had the space (as the house featured in this video, and most rural homes do) that a ground-mount system would be cheaper and faster to build than a rooftop system, and would also be more efficient. Also, whereas every rooftop is different, ground-mount seems pretty standardizable, so the cost for it should be kind of straightforward, right?
Energy independence in a state that explicitly believes that energy is best provided by profit seeking companies unbound by nonsense regulations. How is that working for y'all in Texas 😊 When a Texan says enegy indepence, I hear, oh shit we messed up biggly with Ercot 😊.
I think that, even with the big freeze that happened, most Texans are still pretty proud to say that we have our own grid which is powered by the most renewable energy of any state I might add. 😊

So much great information, and awesome tips for designing a home with solar

More Texans need to design their homes with solar in mind!
