This was really good- I said this the other day but you do a really good job of putting a lot of info into a short video. Well done.

2:26 This is the safest and most effective approach against a dagger or knife attack. You avoid and forego focusing on the tool (dagger or knife) and immediately proceed to put injury damage on the attacker. Focusing on the tool and not the attacker, leaves you open for the attacker to counter-attack you.
According to studies on violence and criminal violent attacks, you would want to quickly neutralize the perpetrator and not the tool. The real danger is the attacker for he/she can easily forego the tool at hand, and attack you with a different tool (another hidden dagger/knife) or method (barehanded). Therefore focus on placing injury damage on the opponent and neutralizing them.
This demonstrates that the masters even back then knew exactly what they were talking about. It shows that their art came from actual real experience, and not from imagined conceived ideas of self-defense that we often see today.
