"Ai vis lo lop" by Flos Florum
This might be the best Fiore crash course I've ever seen.
This is like the start of a Medieval John Wick
John Wick on the medieval age...
Nop its not
We simple call Rafał "Polish Fiore"
He killed 3 fully plated knights... with a focking pencil
@@a_gloriouspotato1967whit a goose feather *
It's weird, but this just made a lot of what I've been studying for three years suddenly click into place.
Edmund Withnell and are you ready to defeat three enemies, too? :)
Study for three years? When u gunna get out there and actually do it?
@@wedgeantilles1498 he's finally achieved bankai
I'm happy for you ! 😄
@@wedgeantilles1498 Study also mean ''practice''. Pretty sure he already did ''get out there'' and did it.
"I am the sword, deadly against every weapon. Neither spear nor pollaxe nor dagger is worthy against me"
Now that's badass
I would think many of those weapons would best the sword though, especially under the right circumstances. If you were as equally skilled with the spear as your opponent was with a sword, it would be very difficult for them to have an opening to strike. A pollaxe also has the reach advantage, like the spear, while also being difficult to guard against due to its heft. In close quarters, i.e. inside a hallway/building/ enclosed area, a dagger beats the sword.
@@AveSicarius Agree
@@AveSicarius While a spear does have a reach advantage. The sword would be about closing the gap, read by the swordsman, and played and practiced against squires extensively and repitiously. During a close up meatfest that reach becomes too cumbersome and makes it nullified as its unwieldy. While a sword can still thrust. If only we had camcorders back then to see it played out.
@@benjaminplatt4109 well yes, it would be about the skill of the individual wielder and the battlefield conditions.
Though I think you would rarely see a sword vs spear scenario on a battlefield just because of the scarcity of the former.
In a dueling scenario however, even if the spear wielder was slightly less skilled; I would give him the advantage. It would be very hard to get close to an individual wielding a spear with a sword, thrusts are hard to deflect and are linear so not very telegraphed while also being very quick.
It's a similar situation to a dagger vs a sword in such a scenario, a dagger is a much more effective weapon in close quarters. But getting there is the hard part.
If I remember correctly there were several historical accounts of spears/quarterstaves doing very well into swords, they were considered peasant weapons however so I don't think you would see many, if any, nobles ever learning such techniques.
A quarterstaff also is permanently carried at the ready, so can be employed against sheathed weapons in impromptu scenarios.
I agree, being able to see would be much easier. Looking through various historical records, that may or may not be accurate/honest, is really an effective way of understanding technique.
Though eastern martial arts see this also, where master-student transmission has led to ineffective techniques over generations of inactivity. It is hard to think of what situations they would originally have been employed in.
@SlowMotionSword I have extensive practice in several martial arts the basic concepts of which are transferable between all martial arts, i.e. there are only so many ways to fight.
I made an observation based on my experience of how combat actually works. The combatant with a longer reach holds the advantage as they can strike from a greater distance. Linear strikes such as thrusts are much less telegraphed than swings while also being quicker as your weapon is generally already pointed in the direction of your opponent, and you simply extend.
Explain to me how any of those concepts are wrong when the are applied in literally all combat arts. Then explain to me how making up my opinion based on personal experience and knowledge is in anyway linked to "CZcams demagogues".
You are making a sweeping statement based on nothing; in what seems to be a strange attempt to show off your vocabulary.
If you are going to make a counterargument try to make it relevant to the subject, not simply ad hominem attacks.
this channel is seriously becoming really nice, also appreciate the small glimpse of sword's path :)
Sword path, heh? I see you're a fellow Daoist as well.
Shame that one can only give this one like.
Well, secondary accounts are a thing... I mean, just saying.
Nice video! I especially like the sword throws. Some time ago we were experimenting with various ways and I was surprised how actually easy it is to hit a target.
Были случаи когда клинок ломался после броска?
Absolutely brilliant! I love the set up for the 3 attackers and the defence against them with the sword in 1 hand. As a practitioner I've learnt a few things just from this video. Never knew about the different movements or turns of the blade itself!
Thanks so much for your films and can't wait for the next one!
Once again, "Everyone has a plan until they got sliced through the neck..." Tyke Myson... 😂😂😂
Seriously such a glorious ode to Fiore
You don't chose the Armizare life, the Armizare life chooses you!
this video and chapter two have actually helped me a boat load with understanding fiores work thank you so much
One of the best Heme instructional videos out there. Thank you.
Amazing! Can't wait to see more videos of fights and technique!
You guys are awesome. One of the only few channels on CZcams that goes in depth. I really learn a lot from you guys!
Wspaniały filmik, jestem pod wrażeniem, kawał dobrej roboty!
Artistic, inspiring and educational. Can't wait for the next episodes.
Simply wonderful! Looking forward to the sequel!
Beautiful video...The demonstration's & the renaissance music fit really well together.
Thanks for the video and also for the info about the music.👍👍
Nothing but love. Great transitions and editing. Can't wait for the action.
Your videos are awesome ! Certainly the best actually !
Can't wait for second part !
This video is inFIORiatingly short, but good! ;P I very much look forward to more.
I give that pun a 9/10
Henry goh you are generous sir. Lol
I can't wait for more videos! Well done!
This is the best channel. I wish they would do a weekly or monthly series with This guy going around being a bad ass. No talking. Just music and fighting.
"I am the sword, deadly against all weapons. neither spear, nor pleax, nor dagger can prevail against me."
Dane Axe...local Norwegian man literally too angry to die.
Btw as ı like swords, ı think spears are better.
It doesnt have to be 3 meters long to be to get called spear,
Easy to replace spear head,
Pointy thing that basically hurts you,
Anyone can use it, you dont have to have extreme swordlike training to use it.
(Always have a axe or sword so that you can use it when your spear breaks or basically just gets taken away from you)
@@Althairs lmao
You mean dane. Local Dane.
@@Vatt-Ghern no. no I do not.
@@Althairs you can win or lose with any weapon, at the end skills make the difference but a spear has its obvious weaknesses..the sword is a better balanced weapon regarding advantages / weaknesses. ofc only my opinion ;)
"I am the sword, deadly against every weapon. Neither spear nor poleaxe nor dagger is worthy against me".
Although I still believe spears to be better with anyone can use them plus the reach advantage, that line is just so badass that it makes me wanna learn HEMA, Kendo, or any sword based martial arts even more. Add up that one last line as the cherry on top.
Beautiful!
Świetne ! Czekam na więcej :)
ottimo lavoro! complimenti ragazzi.
Jeju. Bardzo lubię i szanuję waszą twórczość. Trzymajcie poziom! :D
Fajnie wyszłoooo :D

I'm amazed to see this western martial art is still preserved and in excellent health. It truly is a living treasure. Long may these masters prosper.
this song is just too perfect for this video and i cant stop watching it
Having only been directed to your last video mere days to a week ago, I'm glad I subscribed when I did.
Great work!
Great work!
Excellent video, guys! Makes you want to grab your sword and do some movements yourself right away. And I really need the Fiore-outfit :)
firstly: this channel is awesome! Secondly: LOVE THE HAT!
You guys should totally do a similar one of these for fiores grappling and dagger sections
Meravigliosa Scuola. Grazie.
Excellent video!
Great videos guys. I think you really pay great tribute to the master and capture the atmosphere of the time really well. Well done.
Love you guys
The basics! Love the music.
Stellar work
As a starter, I learnt a lot from this by playing it on 0.25x playback speed, I’m also reading Fiore’s handbook for reference.
It's very good method. Good luck!
@@akademiaszermierzy1105 thank you sir, much of blessings to you.

This is awesome. This is quite useful. Also, excellent taste in music.
Congratulations my friends excellent work I can't wait to watch complete. I send you a big hug from Mexico
God I love your videos. Hollywood should let you guys choreograph every sword fight in movies. Period. Beautiful work.
Wow, this video is superb, too! I really love the little story in it, and it's very educational, too. I suddenly feel the urge to get up and join the nearest HEMA club.
I'm really looking forward to see the continuation of the video!
On a sidenote, are you guys planning to make a full-length movie? I think with your talents (both fencing and video making wise) you totally could, and you could crowd fund it as well, I think the HEMA community would be very supportive.
The best skills and real performance I have ever seem ,thanks Dear Master.
This is one of the most captivating things I've ever watched
Damn cant wait for more
Amazing
Awesome video, great technique.
really loved your first video, but this also kicks ass 👌
Very proud to be a friulano as Fiore "Furlano" dei Liberi was.

One of the very few practitioners of the sword who move at combat speed.
It's a very important thing, most train too slow.
Mega!
Grat video and skills. You should make more of this.
From now you have a new suscriber. Please keep it up.
