Very informative. I've gone back and forth trying to decide if I want to get a CRT or not and I think maybe not now. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Just stumbled across this video. This by far is one of the best video game room tours and walkthroughs I have ever seen. Had to add this to my saved list. Will be watching this again? Thanks guy!🙏
Stay tuned. Hopefully going to have a new video up within the next few weeks
What a beautiful room! Great job!
Really nice setup! Cheers from the UK 👍
Cool room dude 👍
Love yourgaming setup😮😮
Nice and clean setup mate! Definitely a fan of more of these cleaner setups without plushies and toys all over th place.
Your comment = "I like men, but with more steps".
your setup is my wet dream 😂
Thumbs up just for presenting games in correct aspect ratio
I set the TV to "Aspect set by program." Most of the time that works, but occasionally, I have to switch to 4:3
I've been gaming since 1977 at age 9-Present and still own my launch consoles from Atari-PS4 especially all Nintendo consoles and games in there original boxes...I would like to know are any of these consoles from your childhood.
I wish I could say the same. My first memory of video gaming was on my families Intellivision. I've had every Nintendo console since they were new and I had a Turbografx-16 when it was new. Sadly, the only on that remains is a badly yellowed SNES.
Looks great! Tv might be too high
I brought the same tesmart 16-port hdmi switch for all my consoles. that hdmi switch puts out 4k@60hz 4:4:4, I have my ps5, ps4, and xbox one x connected to it, of course all my other hdmi modded consoles and a scaler
Super informative, thank you!! You said you bought the 16 hdmi switch on Ali express?
Yes, I did. But that was 2 years ago and you know how aliexpress is. Here today, gone tomorrow
What are you using to get your retro consoles to play on your tv? I have an N64/SNES/Saturn/GC/Genesis/Xbox and wanto play on my Samsung Q90A tv.
Thanks for the video - Just curious are you only just using the centre speakers for all your retro game audio? I was thinking of doing the same vs having a completed surround sound setup for a very small room
No. Its a 5.1 system. Those big wooden boxes are vintage pioneer speakers I use for the left and right.
Avgn did simply not have this in 2006. Poor James Rolfe. 😂
Could you list out which mods you've used for each system? Sorry, I know it's a lot but it would be good to know! I have a similar setup but I've opted for the even cheaper composite output for all my systems into a RetroTINK 5x which I do have to constantly mess with to get the right profile loaded. I REALLY like what you've done to make it "just work" when you turn on a system. Nice setup!
Good idea! Description updated
@@schweatty Sweet! Thanks!
This was super interesting! I'm probably way too late to ask but: do you have a link for that hdmi switch? Would be very handy
A quick search on aliexpress (where I got mine 2 years ago) didn't have any. I found a few on ebay but they were significantly more expensive than what I paid. Inflation I guess. I would suggest 2 8-port switches. Much cheaper
It now does 4K@60hz.
Thanks, this is a really helpful video, but I'm wondering about that component video switcher. Can you give more information about it or where to find it?
It was made by psyclone in the early 00's. It isn't produced any more. I dont know much about it really. If you want a new component switch, there are cheap mechanical ones that don't introduce any lag. I used to use one. They are available on amazon
The PS5 is comically large compared to everything else lol. Nice set up though, working on mine currently and it will be a similar set up.
i noticed a lack of rom carts, they're very expensive though. the gamecube silent fan mods are funny, i got both the noctua and the other one with the blue fan, both are still loud. just no way around that given the lack of space to install a thicker fan. interested to see what you did for the nes, i'll go look it up. nice setup, simple'ish and effective.
You should check out my most recent video. The NES got a complete overhaul since this video was made
I really like my Hisense Roku TV, smart TVs sucked a few years ago, not anymore!
I picked up an LG C2 since this video was made. Theres a a room update vid on my channel.
@@schweatty I see, and clear shells for almost all your consoles too
I wish to be able to pip watch my old console on my new console so I can stay in party chat and play my ps2
How do you comfortable play on the consoles without killing your back or neck? I want to be able to sit in a gaming pc chair right in front of my setup but I’m looking to have a setup similar to yours.
I have a pair of recliners in the room. Not sure if they make an appearance in the video
@@schweattybut the console and controllers have short chords, do you have to pull out the consoles onto the floor to be able to play for the more retro consoles to be able to play on your recliner?
Looking good! Is it awkward trying to play the consoles that are connected via the Retro Tink since they aren’t facing the OLED? Just trying to envision how that area looks/works when the actual controllers are plugged in and in use...
Not at all. I just make sure I have plenty of controller cord so I can keep the controller in a neutral position
the panasonic Q is calling to me
fast forward 2 years and now our hdmi modded consoles need a 4k scaler lol
I picked up the retrotink4k a few months ago. Loving it so far
good spot. can you please tell us what do you use for connect your retro consoles?? you have good quality on it .
nice video btw.
The video explains all the modifications to every system. If you Google the names of each mod kit I mention in the video, you can get additional information on them.
Which tv do you have? What is the name of the hdmi switcher can you post a link?
That was a 7 year old LG OLED. I recently replaced it with a LG C2. It works great in my setup. For the switch, search Aliexpress for "16 port hdmi switch"
Well it’s been almost 2.5 years again where’s the next tour
It's up, brother! And I even admit it right off the jump
Which model is the Denon receiver ?
AVR-S530BT. It's about 8 years old at this point. It was the cheapest receiver I could find with HDCP 2.2 inputs at the time.
What TV ar you using
Currently using a LG C2. There is an update to this video on the channel.
Hi whats that bookshelf called please?
Good old IKEA Kallax
What’s your shleves cabinet
Good ol' ikea kallax
i think i have a cool setup....then i see his room.
Are you living in Canada?
No. US of A
@@schweatty Oh okay...
But you are still not able to run Gran Turismo 4 on your ps2 in 1080i, since you need more than just HDMI adapter
Retrotink 4k is gonna fix that. Coming soon...
@@schweatty damn, thats 750 usd
Anyways, your console shelf looks amazing)
what hdmi switcher is that plz

Can’t make your game a bit bigger? Black bars are irritating
Do you still own the ps3? If so, are you willing to sell it?
I still have it. Hit me up on Twitter @danjohnson505
Wait, why do you say the ps3 is a ticking time bomb?
Those 1st gen fat boxes are very prone to get the yellow light of death. Once that happens, a permanent repair is almost impossible
I had 2 of those hdmi switchers they both lasted 6 months then died 🤬
Still going strong after 2 years. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they had quality control issues.
@@schweatty your lucky i loved mine but they never lasted 6 months and were used maybe 3 of those
у тебя ps1 нет!
Nope. I use the ps2 or ps3 to play ps1 games
boy wait till you hear of pc gaming and emulation lol . i emulate my retro games now i live in a samll room so i am forced too have that . i normaly emulate ps1 ps2 ps3 psp ps vita wii wii u game cube 3ds switch and game boy color and advance and gameboy so i am good on pc
Also composite sucks
It's no longer retro if u modernize it....
