    Nice setup! That current Gamecube/GameBoy Player combo matches very well, I wouldn't change it if it works as desired. So it seems the HDMI switcher auto selects the input that gets a signal? And the (single?) output just mirrors the selected input? I haven't yet checked the previous video parts, but you basically never switch the input on the Denon receiver or perhaps for certain consoles/other systems/HEOS/'Bluetooth casting'? I have a very similar model Denon receiver. I see a PS5, a small setup with a tape deck/CD player/EQ setup and in some views a WiiU gamepad is visible? Perhaps a Switch as well. How do you distribute all of your gear over both that HDMI switch and the multiple ports available on the receiver? If you Denon model even closely resembles mine it has multiple HDMI ports aside from a few composite, component and s-video selections of ports. And do any of your systems require the separation of the audio from HDMI using a HDMI Splitter? Or (if even required) do you dual wire the audio using the original (analog) system port(s) if possible? You mention the option of a Rad2x cable. Do you use any type of scaler, independent of display-built-in scalers, like an OSSC or Retrotink? Edit: Just checked the first part of you previous video and you seem to have a RetroTink 2x for you second set of consoles that are all plugged into a Cyclone composite switch? But no scaler like a RetroTink5x for the main set of systems just to add 'overall stability' to the signal and options for scanlines, masks etc if desired? Just for completeness 😉 - Maybe add a JP/EU Super Famicom/SNES simply because the case/shell is just really nice? If you haven't seen it yet, check MachoNacho/Tito's recent video for cool mods on such a SNES, including the shell itself but there are really nice transparent shell options to keep it in line with your current setup of systems 😁 - And since you mentioned how you very much like to mod: how about a new Gamecube with Pluto II HDMI, Picoboot/SD2SP combo and (Laserbear) Blue Retro Internal adapter mods? It would also be ready for the M.2 Loader and you could match any desired and available colour GameBoy Player with any colour shell 🙃 - No MiSTer option? This system is just too awesome! Thanks for any replies! ❤

    • @schweatty
      @schweatty Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for all the great comments/questions. The HDMI switch automatically switches to the most recent signal it receives and it just passes through the signal (no scaling). Check out my older videos for my "analogue" consoles including PC Engine and Sega. I was using a retrotink-2x in that video but I swapped it out with a GBS-C last year. I am strongly considering a Retrotink-4k when its released since I can use that for every single console I have.

      @@schweatty How do you distribute all of your gear over the multiple ports available on the Denon receiver vs inputs available on your chosen display? I see a PS5, there is a Switch, a small setup with a tape deck/CD player/EQ setup, there's a Laserdisc player and whatnot and in some views a WiiU gamepad is visible? If your Denon model even closely resembles mine it has multiple HDMI ports aside from a few composite, component and s-video selections of ports aside from the separate but assignable analog and digital audio in ports. At least one of the HDMI ports is used for your HDMI switch and another is used for the RT2x output for your secondary consoles setup. As an example for hooking up gear due to having a similar Denon receiver: a few consoles/systems (like a Mac Mini, SteamDeck, Pi3 Retropie, PS Classic, original Switch, a BlueRay player and currently in the front port a Pi4 Barebones 9.1 Sinden Lightgun setup) go into my Denon receiver by HDMI (or some composite/component connection when connecting the odd gear that rarely gets use) and the Denon's HDMI output connects to my display. But my display has 4 HDMI inputs: one input is for the Denon receiver, a second for 'television', a third for my MiSTer and a fourth for my Switch OLED.

    • @schweatty
      @schweatty Před 11 měsíci

      @MrOpz everything up to 1080p goes into the hdmi switch. The PS5 goes directly into the LG OLED to take advantage of 120 hz refresh. Audio for the PS5 goes to the receiver through eARC. The tape deck/CD player uses RCAs and the optical input for the receiver. My old LG OLED had a composite input I used to use for the laserdisc player. The C2 I have now only has hdmi so I run s-video from the laserdisc into an old toshiba DVD player that upscales to 720p and output hdmi to the switch. All the analogue consoles go from the GBS-C to the switch through HDMI

    Nice! It looks like that is a LaserBear BlueRetro board in that GameCube? If not, that should complete that setup. I didn't see the RGB LED or lit up ports. Keep the silver GB player, or use black. I could never reshell my GameCubes. I got the orange one with the matching GB Player and a Silver one that is actually a Japanese model. The matching GB Player should be delivered today. The orange one is loaded with the PicoBoot, SP2SD w/ Por cover and SD slot cover, 512GB SD card, LaserBear BlueRetro adapter, internal Pluto IIx HDMI mod and silent fan. I hope to grab the M.2 adapter if it ever comes out. The silver one only has the PicoBoot, SP2SD w/ Por cover and SD slot cover and I'm using an external GCVideo to keep it component cable ready. I see no Wii? I did the AVE-HDMI mod with the clear smoke case. The ofcourse my I have my translucent green OG XBOX Halo edition with Project Stellar and HDMI v2. I'm surprised you did the HDMI mod yourself but not the mod chip. The mod chip is WAY EASIER! I also have my first OG XBOX with the Xecute X3 I modded almost 20 years ago. It only has the simple BIOS switch panel with HDD and LAN status LEDs. The front LCD and custom panel was as expensive then as it is now on places like ebay so its actually not overpriced if you can get both for ~$150-200. Subbed and rang that bell!
