    As tech savvy as I am, I never knew that a combo splitter/switch was called a Matrix. Informative for those that need a switcher. I actually have two of the exact devices you showed.

    If you find that you need even more inputs, you just chain the switches together, though you probably want to limit the number in the chain. You can do that by linking switches to a “concentrator” switch, which then goes out to the TV.

      I haven't owned every model, but in my experiments this does not work for HDMI switches. Either the box does not recognize the other box, or the auto switching does not work, causing you to have to manually switch two boxes. I imagine the lag would be doubled too.

      @@HowToX I’m not sure, although I’ve found auto-switching to be unreliable in any case.

      Nonsense! This is not recommended on hdmi Signals. You can do that on rgb or composite Signals.

    I always put my Avi and HDMI switches in by the release date. Example NES 1 then Sega Genesis input 2. On the newer TV WiiU input 1 then Switch 2 and PS5 input 3.

    I really like this kind of content and it's the reason why I subscribed to you. That being said, I'm very hesitant to get a HDMI switcher because I don't know how well it will handle HDR with Dolby vision, there'll be Atmos and HDR 10 and HDR 10+ and Various Refresh Rate.

    • @HowToX
      @HowToX  Před rokem +1

      I know they have ones for HDR. Another option though is to get a short HDMI cable that has one female end and one male end. Connect the male end to the back of the TV, and use the female end to manually switch between the consoles.

Are there good - 60Hz+ | 4k - matrix switchers which will allow two different screens to have access to the reservoir of source devices independently if not also simultaneously for each output?

I wanna upgrade to monitors since I have two 24in TV's. Thanks for your help in helping me remember the 1990s switcher technology that I once used in the 1990s. But I am also curious about one particular American component used by hard drive cloners.
    In my country's government they do not want us civilians to use their scan-copy-transfer (SCT IC Chip) IC chip which can scan incoming computer input, make multiple copies of it, and transfer one of each of these multiple copies to 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 individual CPUs that will process the WHOLE information and then they use an another component that receives the processed information and compare all of the results and once all are cross-referenced and are the same they are then combined as one information output which is then displayed on one or more computer monitor display.
    Does your American hard drive cloners can do the same? And what is the key component in your hard drive cloners that can make multiple duplicate copies of the 1st primary hard drives and then transfers those multiple duplicate copies to several tens of dozens of hard drives? Can you and somebody or anybody help me please?
    Maybe, just maybe that key critical component of your American hard drive cloners can do the same function as my country's government's (SCT IC Chip) Scan - Copy - Transfer IC Chip.

    I wonder if the auto switching switches to the input it detects power on and or prioritizes input 1 over input 2, etc. if more than one is powered. Having a system always powered on like a PS5 may confuse it. Not sure about any of that.

    • @HowToX

    • @HowToX
      @HowToX  Před 6 měsíci

      A splitter takes one source (one game system) and splits it so it can be seen on two TVs. A switch takes two or more systems, and just passes one of them through at a time, to one TV.

    Are there alternatives that don't use power cords? Powered by USB, or mechanical for example? For when spare plug sockets / outlets are sparse?

    • @HowToX
      @HowToX  Před rokem +1

      Yes, they are known as passive. They can add signal degradation if you are using long cords. The powered ones renew the signal, for lack of a better term. Some may take some power from the HDMI cord and light up a red LED light, but from what I read, those don't renew the signal.

    • @HowToX
      @HowToX  Před rokem

      It may not be possible to have the splitter and switcher connected together. You may get a blank screen. If it does work, there are two ways to do it. 1) The HDMI coming out of the PS3 goes into the splitter, and one of outputs for the splitter goes into the switch box. Or 2) the output coming out of the switcher goes into the splitter.
