Its made up of powder and polyacrylic acid liquid. SIts the first cement to bond chemically with the tooth. Hence many dental entrance exams do ask questions from this topic of Dental Materials. This video covers Zinc Polycarboxylate Introduction, Properties, Applications, Advantages, Disadvantages. Easy dentistry at Aspire32 helps grasp such topics of Dentistry in the simplest possible way for dental students and dentists. This video will also help you to understand zinc polycarboxylate cement setting reaction,

Sir
Glass ionomer cements and all of its modification
Fluoride releasing amalgam
Composites modified to release fluoride
Zinc polycarboxylate cement
Compomer
Pit and fissure sealants - they are not cement but are also responsible for fluoride release in the mouth
Great answers.. but which was the first cement to release fluoride.. its missing here ??
@@Aspire32
Sir is the answer silicate cements?
Yes. You got it right :)
god bless you doc great video
Thank you soo much :)
Fluoride releasing cements-
1. GIC
2. RMGIC
3. Compomers
4. Zinc polycarboxylate cement
5. Composites
(if there are more please let me know)
...and yesss the video was great (as usual)
Thank you sir!!! :)
Great answers.. but which was the first cement to release fluoride. Thats missing ??
Yeah...I guess it was silicate cement. However the fluoride release was little but still it was the first fluoride releasing cement.
Super !
@Aspire32 Sir, do Composites release fluoride too?
Yes. There are few but the release is very less compared to gic
Good morning sir, I have been following all your videos its a humble humble request please make a video on class 3,4,5 composite preparation including conventional, conventional beveled, modified beveled and the concept of beveling thank you so much for all your videos.
Hi Pranav. I am happy to hear that you find my channel useful. I get lot.of request for the videos and sometimes it becomes difficult to make so many. But this one looks easy. Let me work on it :). Meanwhile requesting you to share the channel videos with your friends so that it can help my channel grow :)
I did cover the bevel use in fundamental video I guess. Did you check it ?
Thank you sir for considering my request, yes sir i have been sharing your channel with my batch mates.
And yes sir i went through the video made notes of it, but the composite bevelling concept including root caries couldn't make my concept. I am finding it difficult.
Thank you.
Oh. I understand. Let me see what I can do. Thank you for Sharing the video with friends
So informative sir👍🏼😊😊 so do you recommend zinc polycarboxlylate cement for luting vital tooth rather than gic ??!!
It does not depend on cement. It depends on type of crown. Most of the all Ceramic crown say best is resin cement and then gic.. I am releasing conventional gic video in few days.
Do check my other videos and give your precious feedback :)
Sir what is the relationship between area required for manipulation and exothermic reaction?Could you please explain
It's explained in my zinc phosphate video
Sir,your videos are very useful for me.Will you please upload video about dental ceramics so that I can prepare for the upcoming university exam😊
Its already on my channel .. here is the link.. czcams.com/video/p350BuUVALs/video.html .. do check the video section of channel page and you will find many videos which will help for exam
czcams.com/video/p350BuUVALs/video.html
Ok sir,thankyou😊
Let me know how was it :)
Nicely explained.i want to know for ndeb exam that why polycarboxylate cement is used as a base material beneath metallic restoration.plz explain
Most welcome. DO watch the whole series of pulp protection to understand why cements are used as base. Here is the link
czcams.com/play/PLdPsg6P-6Vlezs_0ZaBoOU7u9OC_KlVma.html
Thnks sir for the amazing lecture👌
Zn polycarboxylate properties are same as gic . What is the difference ?
The powder is different. Fluoride release in GIC is more. GIC is more stronger
Which is best for luting crowns/bridges (in terms of ease of application, longetivity and strength),
Zinc Polycarboxylate Cement or GIC type-1?
Gic
Thank u very much!
But didnt understand last point why not to remove zinc polycarboxylate from tooth in rubbery stage....
It opens the margins which can then leake
Sir application of varnish below zinc phosphate is acceptable from where to get the reference for this please tell
I had a big argument with one of my staff regarding this I want to give reference please reply
It's In Phillips dental material
@@Aspire32 thank u so much can you please tell edition
Sir,
If Stannous Fluoride is added to Zinc Phosphate cement, will it also show some anticariogenic property like Zinc Polycarboxylate cement??( though fluoride release is only 15 to 20%)
Would it alter any properties of Zinc Phosphate cement?
This is tried even in Composites too. The issues is will it get released ??.. may be the chemical reaction does not allow it to release.
One who also think whether it will affect other properties of the cement.. u may get fluoride release but the strength may reduce..
May be all these parameters are already tried and they did not succeed
@@Aspire32 Convincing answers sir....
Thank you so much
Looking forward to viewing and understanding all your work...
Hats off to all the hard work you put in making these videos...
Regards.
Thank you Mansi. My aim is to help students to understand the topic and increase the knowledge. Could you please help.me by sharing the links with your whatsapp group and social media so that Aspire32 can grow ?
