  • This popular video by Aspire 32 on the Dentin bonding agent is a part of an ongoing series on Dental Composites. Dentin Bonding agents and its generations are explained in a very complex way in many textbooks. But this video has made it simple like never before and has been appreciated widely by many students. It is one of the most popular videos from Aspire32 Channel. It covers the steps, the generations of various Dentin bonding agents, the role of etchant. It also gives scientific reasoning behind the total-etch and the self etches bonding agents, but all of this in a super simple slow explanation so that students can understand it better. Dentin bonding agents is an important topic from Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry. Easy dentistry at Aspire32 helps grasp such topics of Dentistry in the simplest possible way for dental students and dentists.
    This video of Aspire 32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi who has cleared various exams like ADAT, NBDE from the USA, DHA from Dubai, and various Indian Entrance exams like PGI, KCET, NEET. I am MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics by profession. I am also an author of dental books on the entrance exam and I am also currently a faculty at KLE University and a receiver of best teacher award.

      @@Aspire32 Yes indeed, your new visualisation is better and can be more improved by adding short case study 5-10s clips between explainations along with case study photos for more real life experience , it will extend the length of video, but still you can still use this technique in small topics, and efficiently manage this in longer topics. But still you make awesome content with this simple videos. Thanks again...

    Hello. Thx for amazing explanations of this important topic but i have a question for you as well for other colleuges regarding this postoperative sensitivity which forced scientist to create a new 6th genereation of bonding because as said the 5 th total etch system reported many cases of postoperativ sensitive tooths. However there is a study and you can find it i Cohens Pathways to pulp chapter number 13 page number584 that has shown no significant differences between two adhesive systems ( total etch or self etching system ) but the most important variable that affected the pulp was bacterial leakage in both systems.

    @davidmarlonalvarez7339 Před 6 lety +2

    Ok , suppose I wanted to etch, then use a bonding agent for underlayment, to then apply a GIC type 2? Will a GIC adhere and form a bond with the bonding agent? is is it even necessary to use a bonding agent with a GIC type restoration? I think ething may be all that is needed, but I feel a bonding agent might help with affixing the GIC.

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 6 lety +1

      That mostly wont happen since the layer is already coated with a bonding agent and gic will be prevented from coming in contact with the tooth

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 6 lety +2

      Bondint agents are not required with the restorative gic. Only conditioner is needed

    • @davidmarlonalvarez7339
      @davidmarlonalvarez7339 Před 6 lety

      Ok, but the etching paste will provide a good surface prep for the GIC I assume?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 6 lety +3

      Yes. But it creates microporosities which are not penetrated by GIC.. Gic just needs removal of smear layer which can be done with weaker acid. Thsats the conditioner

    Respected sir,
    Thank you very much for the inspiring lecture.. I am an orthodontist and senior to Dr Ajay praveen in ug by whom I got to see the videos.. Since we too deal with bonding it is really helping us sir... Sir, I have a doubt...we use bondable Buccal tubes in molar as alternative to banding is there any primer or etching with Hf acid and primer application on the brackets surface will improve the bond strength

    • @Aspire32

    • @Aspire32

      But we do have a bonding agent which helps composite bonding the metal crown. Ideally we cant bond the composite to metal but with this you can do it.
      Google ceramic repair meterials. I think you would get it

    lecture was just superb
    we just read in buks blindly v dnt understand anything how it applies clinically
    but here i can imagine everything how it actually works clinically
    But i have 1 more doubt if postoperative sensitivity after composite restoration exist wat is the treatment for it do v need to redo restoration or use any liner ??

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 3 lety +1

      It depends on the cause. Base can be given if the preparation was deep, 7th gen bonding agent can also be used to reduce sensitivity since 5th generation may cause sensitive for dentin. If microleakge is the cause redoing helps.

    Thank you doctor , simplicity wins.
    I have a question that has been puzzling me lately and cannot find an answer in literature.
    do we need to use dual cure bonding adhesive with dual cure resin cements and build up materials?
    for example when cementation of a fiber post with build up cement material ,
    if not, then how does the bonding agent set without light , does cement polymerization activates the bonding agent to cure as well ?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 2 lety

      Wherever light does not reach u can use either chemical cure or dual cure bonding agent with dual cure cement.
