Doom slayer solos all of these. I love 40k but my Doomguy killed both god and supergod/satan, the latter also made himself in the slayers image because „I will take the physical form of the strongest being in this universe and right now that’s you.“ like hell itself cannot kill him, only seal him and hope he doesn’t get free. He’s a demon to actual demons. And has razed hell in several dimensions. Fighting them for eons. As long as a named 40k character hasn’t soloed a chaos god and killed it for good, doom slayer wins lol.

    Eversor assasins are absolute insanity
I remember Space Marines being described as a high-end computer with decent specs running, and Thunder Warriors are like those same computers running at the max settings because they're stronger than space marines but burn out in seconds due to cancer and internal liquefaction and such
In this metaphor, the Eversors are running DOOM Eternal on a gameboy and they're using the resulting melted heap of plastic as cannon ammunition to hit their target with

Like it'll give you rules for rouge traders, arbetes, hive gang scum, and more. Official rules for all the cool smaller lore stuff without bloating the market by creating a whole book for each. Nothing extreme, just a little flavor to sprinkle onto your army.

  • @GrayderFox

Man, so much of the non-Space Marine Imperium is actually kind of fascinating. When I first heard about the shape-shifting assassins in general I didn't like the idea, it felt too...out there. Knowing they were specifically all created to take the limiters off and use whatever they can find in the setting to get the job done does make that make more sense, though. Maybe it's also seeing Taz-Mar's art on the Imperium opening me up to the idea of the Imperium being fucking horrifyingly weird also, but the assassins are actually pretty cool.
(The first faction I actually took interest in in 40k was the Daemonhunters, funny enough. There's so much absolutely wild shit in 40k GW could make stuff for.)

I have two hypothetical scenarios with assassins, first one is Vindicare versus T'au. I would guess that the T'au have better rifles since I always hear about their rediculous range but that isn't the only factor for snipers. Vindicare are beyond patient for the right moment to strike, and I'm sure their auxiliary equipment is just as good as the rifle. How long could a T'au mercenary keep a Vindicare target alive?
Second idea was Eversor versus the World Eaters. Would an Eversor be jealous of the Butcher's Nails? Or are they several levels of magnitude angrier than that? Who would win in a 1v1, and if a 1v1 is too lopsided to be a fair fight, how many of one would it take to defeat the other?

My favorite fact about the major assassin temples is their names translated from Latin:
Eversor: exterminator (kinda makes sense what with all the combat-chemical-cocktail-induced violence)
Callidus: clever (they hide their true nature and engage in very specific long-game ops)
Vindicare: "to claim" (they're sharpshooters, and there's also concept of 'taking' game as a hunter)
Venenum: venom (foregone conclusion as poison/toxins/etc are their schtick)
Vanus: vain/vanity (don't harass the authorities; they know more about you than you do)
Adamus: Adam (the first man in Abrahamic religious myth; the earliest assassin model in GW history)
Maerorus: sorrowful (a renegade temple; also worrisome that their one produced assassin was something unsettling)
    Culexus: . . . bedbug ( . . . you got me there)

      Yes and no!
The roots of the Assasin Clades started when a group of powerful and deadly folks were so deeply inspired by the Emperor's vision, they took it upon themselves to ensure no enemy would be beyond His reach.
But they knew it would be dirty stuff and didnt want to soil the Emperors great and good works.
Didnt want thanks. Didnt want praise.
Course, Malcador was running the whole thing on the sly.
However, come the Heresy, they get official backing and sanctioning by the Emperor and incorporated into the Imperium's power structure.

Are assassins actually able to get old, or does the rate of augmentation and an all-time-high on rediculous ammounts of cyber drugs takes it´s toll on them? Great channel! Great entertainment!

I remeber reading old lore about Ervesors able to regulate their body chemistry so well they became functionally ageless

Personally, I love the Venenum assassins. Poisoning everything from your drinkies to the seat you sit on. Theres a lot of cool fan art out there of them...which makes it all the more shocking when you see how crappy the model actually is. God, they need a new model!!!

I fell in love with the Assassin models when they first released. I then also learned that I hated painting black fabric.

I'm a basic bitch and just love the Eversor.
Have youbever read the comic or seen the movie MYSTERY MEN?
They are basically Mr. Furious, just far more capable.
If they were a D&D race, they'd be Neutral Murder.
    Can I murder it?
    Yes.
    Then I murder it.
    No.
    Then I explode.
There is just something to be said about existing so simply.
Oh hello, what do you do for a living?
We extra murder the fuck out of everything.
    Ok, that's nice. Anything else?
    Sometimes we explode.

I've never been one to enjoy the assassin type - I mean, I'm an Ork lover for a reason, I hate sneaky gitz. That being said, I don't mind their inclusion, there is an obvious need for them especially since the Raven Guards are just no where to be seen (?) and who the Hell knows what the Alpha Legion is doing, who even knows what side they're on? So yeah, it makes sense as to why these assassins exist just, not my cup of tea.

I am actively listening to Nemesis (book 13 HH), so add this to the long list of freaky specific timed YT videos.
I really like the Eversor since they are so far out of character to what people think of when they think of assassins. I thought for sure Arthur was going to have a "fuck it, we ball" meme for them, I am suprised he didn't.

how about in stead of an expensive berserking freak you just warp into a system and send the closest large rock on the intercept course of your target...? what I severely dislike about 40k is that the setting pretty much ignores what "void superiority" or even "contested" void can do to a planet in the context of 40k ships...you should be able to get by with a tiny fraction of the ground forces the imperium canonically has since if any warship enters a hostile system, its game over for the defenders if they dont have the means to effectively track it and intercepted, while also intercepting all the bull that the ship (really any warship in the setting) can yeet their's planet way...and if you are on the receiving end, lots of dudes wont help you since they can just get explodified if you can't secure the void

Callidus get a lot of writing so of course they face a lot of disasters, like when a Callidus stabbed a Planetary Governor who revealed itself to be a C'tan shard of The Deceiver.
Also a random thought, the Eversor is probably what a Dark Age Techno-Barbarian warlord would use as infantry.
