Joffrey Baratheon is a major character in the first, second, third, and fourth seasons. He is played by Jack Gleeson and debuts in the series premiere. Joffrey ruled the Seven Kingdoms, having claimed the Iron Throne after his father, King Robert Baratheon, died. However, Joffrey was actually the bastard son of the incestuous relationship between Ser Jaime Lannister and Queen Cersei Lannister. Because of this, his claim to the Iron Throne was challenged by Robert's younger brother, Stannis Baratheon. He was formally styled as His Grace, Joffrey of the Houses Baratheon and Lannister, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm.
Joffrey was originally betrothed to Sansa Stark, whom he kept captive in King's Landing after he beheaded her father for treason, as Eddard Stark tried to reveal the truth about his parentage. However, he later set Sansa aside in favor of Margaery Tyrell, as part of the new alliance between House Lannister, the primary supporters of Joffrey, and House Tyrell, the ruling house of the Reach whose support helped save King's Landing from Stannis Baratheon's attack.
At his wedding to Margaery Tyrell, Joffrey was assassinated by poison after drinking from his wine goblet. His final gesture as he was dying was towards his uncle, Tyrion Lannister. Upon his death, Cersei Lannister arrests Tyrion on the grounds of regicide, though the actual orchestrators are Lord Petyr Baelish and Lady Olenna Tyrell.

You forgot the greatest and most real crime of Joffrey: Ending Jack Gleeson career, the poor guy didn't want to act again from the sheer amount of imbeciles that can't distinguish reality from fiction and were even threatening his life.

Not true. As good as he was in GoT, Jack Gleeson never really wanted to become a proffesional actor. He said in an interview that acting is boring to him, he doesn't like the lifestyle that comes with being a part of a successful TV show and he simply wasn't interested in pursuing an acting career.
Such an amazing actor! Making the whole world hate him with one role!

Bless George's heart for being so real and true to someone who deserved it so much. I'm so sad Jack wasn't given more love from fans for being so perfect at such a villain role. Like with Tom Hiddleston, often villain actors are just the sweetest and most humane people in the world in real life.

I agree with Ramsay being more intelligent and an actual compelling character. He was crazy that's undeniable. But i still loved hating Joffrey more. He was spoiled and cruel. He was never wise and he's obviously not a strategist. But i find a kid in throne more terrifying than a collected man with ulterior motives. Unpredictable and predictable. Easily swayed by emotions, yet so empathetic. Wants to be loved yet doesn't know love. He's character was simple. Spoiled, cruel, and an idiot. And yet the simple stucture gave alot of depths to his character that was hard to understand. I applaus the creation of such a character.

I know this ain't supposed to be for real (I hope it isn't) but Joffrey was the most idiotic and annoying character I've ever seen on a tv show. Jack Gleeson did an excellent job at making everyone hate him and I feel bad for the guy, frankly speaking.
Full of moral fibre but had too much of a temper. Otherwise, he'd have been a great king. He knew what right and wrong was, even if it meant being harsh.

Yes, but he deserved respect and awe, not anger. Usually villain actors are sweet and empathetic in real life. I hate that he faced adversity from delusional idiots for simply doing a good job at his work. Many other villain actors are rightfully loved, like Tom Hiddleston.

I'd have included his trying to have Bran killed while he was defenseless in a coma. Joffrey is the one who gave the Valyrian steel dagger to the hit man. And all just because he was pissed at being forced by Tyrion to give his regards to the Starks.

I think Joffrey and Ramsay are on par as far as evil deeds go. Joffrey is cowardly, weak, and stupid while Ramsay acts good, fights good, is over-aggressive but cunning, and has a good sense of humor.

If you think about how the director fixed each actor for a character, how well the characters fit them and how well they bring them to the end, that we viewers of the show in a certain way get attached to them.
My opinion is that this show is the best ever made for real
