  • I combined the two badass clips of Arya Stark killing Walder Frey and all his men in Game of Thrones season 6, ep 10 and season 7, ep 01 opening, simply because I wanted to watch them together. Enjoy!

In the books, people feared the northerners because they were the most ruthless and wild. And in the north, Ned was probably the calmest northerner. He was calm, civil, orderly, and honorable. But ned often worried that Arya was possessed by the wildness. And here, we see what he meant. Arya is the north. Unfortunately, Robb was too much a Tully, and Sansa had to learn through pain how to be a northerner. Arya was always like this. Vicious, cunning, savage, and wild.

"wild" in the sense of unable to think calmly and clearly that could jeopardize survival for the group. You can see the wildness in the Wildlings in general. All the northern lords think wisely except they have a bad habit of thinking other people will keep their word which was ultimately Ned's and Robb's downfall.

The details in yhese two scenes are amazing. When she kills Walder she never said "milord" as Tywin pointed out for her, but "my lord" she even says "MY lord" at one point.
And when she kills everybody else, she didnt let the new wife drink yhe wine, as she wasnt even married to Walder at the moment of the Red Wedding, and she let every single one of his family members believe they were killed by Walder himself.

@@omelett9 Since you're apparently unfamiliar with the show, the reason that Arya didn't bother to slaughter any of the Frey women is because none of the Frey women had the loyalty to the Frey name that Catelyn, Sansa, and Arya had to the Stark name. Walder's wives were chosen mostly as political maneuvers, most of them were barely a third of his age, and were to him very expendable (remember the one that Catelyn tries to use as a hostage during the Red Wedding). They had no real love for him or for the Frey name, and would have had no interest in avenging the Freys after Arya slaughtered the male side of the house. None of his daughters (trueborn or bastard) had the mind for the game, as most had been married off or were not interested in politics. Furthermore, none of them were directly involved in the events of the Red Wedding, whereas virtually all of the Frey males gathered in this scene were. And given that Arya found out about the Frey-Lannister plot that let to the massacre of the Starks, she would have known if any Frey women had been involved and probably would have killed them too.

When winter creeps upon you from the shadows,
No Roses shall bloom from the meadows.
When winter wreaks havoc on the land,
You can bet there'll be no Snakes in the sand.
When winter brings to life all it finds grim,
The Krakens will freeze where they swim.
When winter sets and the land begins to shiver,
The Flayed Man will start to rot and wither.
When winter fights to the last sliver,
No more Trouts shall swim in the river.
When winter ravages and all despair,
No Falcons shall fly high in the air.
When winter shows you what happens when snow falls,
Not even Dragons Breath shall warm you in your halls.
When winter comes with all it's might,
Only the Wolves shall howl in the night.

It's like - oh good, the jerk nobody likes is now punishing my *enemies* instead of me.
