How I bottom Drift for Mutton Snapper w/ EPIC Mexican style Catch and Cook

For weight size if the current is under 1.5mph in 60-130ft of water I'll use a 8oz lead weight. If the current is moving over 2mph or I'm bottom drifting in deeper water i'll use up to a 16oz lead weight.
I hope you enjoy this fishing video where I try and give some help on how to drift for mutton snapper. This style of bottom drifting fishing also works great to catch grouper, yellowtail snapper, grunts, kingfish, amberjack and basically any fish swimming down there.
There's so many fish you can catch bottom drifting that will make a great catch and cook fishing episode. In this case I go for an EPIC mexican style fish catch and cook.
PS: not 100% sure if this is a 'mexican style' catch and cook, but it seems like it to me. Maybe we'll just call it Mexican/American catch n cook =)

What’s good Heiko! I don’t normally comment or offer advice on here... but as a Food Scientist I highly recommend gutting your fish before leaving them on ice overnight! I know cleaning fish is the last thing you want to do after a long day. However, there are many enzymes that begin breaking down in the fish guts the second the fish dies... leaving guts in a dead fish overnight can lower the quality and sometimes even the “safety” of your fish. Love the channel my G!

Badass my man! I was rooting for you on that Snapper at the end! Btw and little advice with the limes...you can get all the juice out of limes by using a fork. Stick the fork to the center of the slice,then as you squeeze...twist the fork back and forth...lol my wife is a chef and never knew that trick. Way better than the squeezer. The pulp of the lime is such a way better taste.

Fishing on the coast of Washington state where it is rocky, we would use old spark plugs that we would get from different garages and clean them so they didn’t have a gas smell. We would save money by not having to buy lead weights that gets lost in the rocks. You may want to consider using them in shallower water.
