    Can you make a quick video showcasing/explaining your custom transom mount, please?

    Which mainstream company would you get replacement parts from? Mudskipper?
    I.E. bushings and props.

    Looks like its up on plane.. 20 mph? Thats crazy for the price

      Thanks, still have some tweaking to do but it's running 15 mph according to my phone. I'll bet playing with jet and prop sizes may give a couple more mph.

      @@TheDuke539 that should help for sure.. 15 is decent. Esp for that size boat.

    so nice. how long running time do you have before its too hot oil.

      Thanks! Honestly I haven't noticed any issues with oil temp. Running Rotella T6. It's a new build, and my first predator.

      It's an air cooled engine, why would it over heat? It's getting way more air that say if it was running a log splitter.

    I got the same one off Amazon, but with the engine. And I can only get about 10 miles an hour. does the prop size make a difference with speed?

    • @TheDuke539
      @TheDuke539  Před 20 dny +1

      Prop size does make a difference in speed. My top speed with a 6.5" prop is 12 mph, 7" is 15mph and 7.5 is 17 mph. Engine power/maximum rpm is a big factor too. If your engine is still stock I'd upgrade to "stage 1" and bypass/delete the governor (high flow air filter, exhaust, rejet) that will give you 2-3 extra HP. Redbeard's garage has a 'road to horsepower' play list that shows, on a dyno, how modifications affect power on these little engines.

    I see that the kit comes with an H bracket instead of a transom mount. How did you mount it?

    • @TheDuke539
      @TheDuke539  Před 28 dny +2

      I cut each arm of the H off the central beam, then welded that to a pair of steel deep c clamps and reinforced with square stock. Not long ago Mudskipper had the transom mount listed on their website but I can't seem to find it now.

      I found the transom your talking about it’s back on their website but how would you get that to work with the kit? It seems like that shaft is welded to the H bracket

    I have a 1648 flat bottom, What kind of speeds do you think id get with this kit and a stage 1 kit? Asking cause idk how much modv helps on mph

    • @TheDuke539
      @TheDuke539  Před 25 dny

      I'd guess somewhere in the 13-14 mph range with a 7" 2 blade prop if you plan on bypassing the governor. My 1448 ran 13 with a stage 1 briggs. However the intake and exhaust runners on the predator head flow better than the briggs.

      @@TheDuke539 thanks, you’re the first person that I’ve talked to that says ill get any kind of speed out of a 212 on a 1648. I know it’ll be underpowered but I just want to get out on the water

    • @TheDuke539
      @TheDuke539  Před 24 dny

      @@lolwhataim2391No problem at all. As I understand it width has a much larger effect on drag/speed than length does. Between the extra hull displacement and flat bottom it should be able to run real shallow.
