As a Galaxy S23 Ultra user, I'm proud with how Samsung keeps innovating in things like the cameras. The periscope camera with 10x optical zoom is a game changer that you don't think you need until you really have it. In many cases, people around are even jealous of me for being able to capture things that iPhones can't even see. And recently in some BlackPink's Born Pink concerts in Southeast Asia which prohibited professional cameras, some people even have S22 and S23 Ultra for rent, because iPhone in large music venues is just trash if you don't have a seat near the stage.

the funny thing is, for me, my android which is 3 years old (or about to be), hasn't lag at all. it's also a flagship...but I think, most people don't know how to do upkeep on their devices. For myself, I always clear some cache (i automate mine), and on android, like windows, you need to restart it from time to time. IF you're using an old mid ranger that uses emmc as the storage , then don't bother, it will lag due to the limitations of that storage system. UFS 3.0 and above, are really good. Apple has been using nvme SSDs on their iPhone and they don't truly go with multi-tasking as Android does, which can be detrimental if you don't control it, but for a person like me, i like that sort of power in my hand . iPhone, i get so so bored and I can't use it the way i need to when i need to. but if i didn't need to, meh, why not with a second hand iPhone . I feel the new ones are just the same iterations with nothing really new to speak of

Or maybe people just have a certain use case for a phone and prefer the most power efficient option? Traditionally, Apple beats out Samsung in battery life. Samsung have improved a lot in this aspect due to the new Qualcomm SoCs being power efficient. However, Apple is likely to redesign their battery and cooling solutions for the 16 pro. Not to mention, Apple silicon beats out Qualcomm every time. I'm saying this as someone using an s22 ultra. I'm strongly considering an iPhone 16 pro. Reason being: the AI features may finally turn siri into something useful like Google assistant.
There's lots of little things going on here. You can't just call people sheep. Maybe you're the sheep? You obviously aren't understanding where a lot of the benefits of an iPhone lie. The way you're saying it's a cult is rude towards people like me who put thought into the tech they buy, or just ordinary people who have a preference for something. Get over yourself.

Apple only has 4% of the market in India. But they have all of the profits from the market. While other manufacturers are selling their devices aggressively with big discounts promos trying to move as much inventory as possible. And there’s Apple taking all of the profits. When Apple launched the first iPhone, they’re goal was only capture 1% of the market, because that would still be profitable. That’s still holds true today. Ignore marketshare as long as profits are up. Other manufacturers are racing for the bottom like what happened to the Windows laptop market as well as the printer market. I didn’t even know until recently that Samsung discontinued the J Series.
So whatever Apple is doing, their business practices are the best. They know how to run their company. Samsung, the mobile division in this context, is just one part of the company. The entire Samsung corporation isn’t competing with Apple. Only Samsung Mobile is competing with Apple. And Apple is a big customer of Samsung Displays. Samsung Semi sometimes manufactures Apple’s chips. So it’s a symbiotic relationship. Samsung Displays and Semi needs Apple to keep production cost low. As Apple subsidizes the displays on Galaxy devices as it’s cheaper to manufacture in larger scale.

    • @sonofage

true that. but man, if i get 1% of india or china's market, i can retire in my own island. in my country , apple takes up 30+% of the market share, the android side, while collectively, is larger, but separately, they're not even close to 30% each. Samsung is now number 1 for android in my country, followed by xiaomi but having apple's marketing business strategies is a powerful tool to have. I personally don't trust any company fully because after working for IBM , i realize that they have a lot of resting on their laurels syndrome and i see it with Apple too but Apple has that one thing, the ecosystem lockdown. it's ironic especially in the US, where they would fight to wear a mask but hell, they'll love to be stuck to 1 brand ecosystem prison. lol. anyway, you're right, it's onyl samsung mobile that is fighting with Apple and the likes. it is a symbiotic relationship. likewise, apple's manufacturing with china. that funnily enough, didn't get any sanction whatsoever.

Personally, Apple works the best in my niched scenario for one thing: Suica. As someone who travels to Japan a lot/intends to move there in the future, Suica being integrated on my iPhone is so seamless and easy to navigate JR/Metro lines, as well as being a "cash" option to use for payments; you can also load it with an Amex/MC, so you get points on top of that. Also for me, I just like how iPhones work without issue. I'm still on a Xs Max and it's going strong, but the 15PM with USB-C is definitely something I'm looking forward to this year

My issue with Apple is the whole "let's keep you locked up in our ecosystem." I think most people would prefer to use Apple/iCloud for their notes, mail, backups, etc but at least give people the option of having these on other platforms. Samsung does lock you in with their apps as well but they have deep integrations into Microsoft and Google's ecosystems that gives you the flexibility of switching.
Another example is voice assistants: on Android/Samsung, you can select between Google, Bixby but we are only left with Siri on Apple.

About 50% of those devices are sold to ex-Android users called switchers. This trend is not new and has been occurring all over the world, it's not regional.
The reason is it's a far better ecosystem. The Apple ecosystem extends beyond Apple products to include a huge variety of third party products and services. Those third parties are interested in the much better demographics of the Apple base because they buy more cases, apps, accessories, etc than the 90% of the Android base which are buying budget phones.

The excitement I personally get when getting a new phone and learning about all the new tools and tricks is...problematic honestly. When I get a new phone the day is completely dedicated to watching YT videos, setting my customizations, and just immersing myself in the technology. A lot of people, I think, are initially intimidated by androids because it's the consumer's job to optimize the phone for themselves, instead of having it all laid out for you.

I don't wanna be rude but I want to state the facts☺️: Many iphone users say they don't want to change bc they would lose their icloud storage but many android users nowadays change just to try to fit in, risking losing their data.
In terms of storage android is better btw. This is due to our ability to use SD cards to extend our storage (I have 128 gb on my phone + 32 gb sd card)and this card can be used in many phones kinda like a cloud (I have used mine in three phones so I have got there files from when I was a kid). The downside of sd cards though is that fact that from passing phone to phone you can corrupt files, but in my experience I only had two corrupted files👍.
In addition to this, we have google drive, which is our "icloud". Have I also mentioned that my iPhone user cousin told me android users can also have apple accounts bc in order to create them it's just needed an email, therefore we can also have access to many apple services😏??

I only brought Samsung monitor, the first one is SD850, really good monitor for professional, but after 2 years of use, suddenly the capacities explode inside and dead, second monitor is M7, it's a terrible product, colour accuracy is bad, the smart feature is below my expectations.
