As a Brazilian, I was 16 years old watching the tragic accident on TV with my family. It has been 30 years since Senna passed away. I watched every single race of his F1 career. I never watched F1 again.
Same brother. I grew up in England with a father who supported British drivers but even as a 5 year old, yellow helmet was the one for me.

These were some of the best days of F1 as a sport, how the young don’t understand or had benefit of seeing this kind of Motorsport. ❤ I always remember Prost turning into Senna that year to steal the championship, Schumacher came through in later years to use the same type of tactics, win at all costs. Not a very chivalrous character. Imagine making the sport more human today, unheard of… 😂

no sorry, he was a good driver and excellent qualifier, sitting in his prime in a superior car. But not a „ league of his own“ ; when Piquet was motivated he showed Senna his borders. Lauda still King of race calculating, Prost maybe the most clever one; Schumacher took 3 of his 7 titles with middle class cars.

Three of the seven world championships won he did not win with the best car (unlike Senna and Prost). Schumacher alone won as Senna and Prost combined. It doesn't seem difficult to understand...

"Unauthorised and Incomplete"... might be a better title for this story of Ayrton Senna. No mention of his first time competing in Europe in World Championship Kart racing from 1978 to 1981..... If you want to understand what made him such a unique F1 driver you need to look at, and understand, how those years racing karts at the highest level developed his character and approach to racing long before he ever got in a formula car........

Utter nonsense, 94, 96, 97 would have been Sennas titles 1000%
In all fairness to Michael, while he did have to battle Mika in a Newey McLaren, but he never had to go up against Prost or Mansell at their best. And I do believe, had Williams team done a better job at welding the steering column, Senna would have would have beaten Benneton in 94 & 95 (despite whatever traction control trickery they were up to).

No Schumacher wasnt close - he just had better cars more often. Schumacher hardly won anything while Senna was still here.
@emelle1283 Michael was not at his best until after Senna death. He won 5 titles in a row with Ferrari. Senna was not doing well when he died, he was pretty rubbish.

Benneton was using.!!! illegal fuel!!!.Plus Benneton was breaking rules in formula one. They cheating using someway to beat senna. Even tough!!!Schumacher had hardtime to passed up artyon on the races tracks.Even Schumacher admits that He couldn't beat senna...SCHUMACHER only passed up ayrton senna. When whatever aryton car broken down.Other wise Schumacher would never passed up ayrton senna with terrible car such as Williams...
