Ayrton was so much more than a racing driver. Such a great human. His institute here in Brazil continues to help children and bring Ayrton's incredible story to people today. Several idols here, football players, get involved in fights, betrayals, wrong posts, racism, sexism, and are idolized anyway. Ayrton was different. Ayrton brought pride to Brazil. He had humility, charisma, he was a cultured, respectful, kind person. A person who took his work very seriously. Anyone knowing the true events of 1988-1990 will immediately recognize what has been left out in order to make Senna look better. The movie's well made and brought Senna's legacy to more people, especially here in the States, so it's not all bad. I just think one of the things that makes Senna so fascinating are his tragic flaws. You can still admire the man while acknowledging his faults. I wanted lotus to win. They were still the second most successful constructor on the grid at their last ever grand prix in 1994.
Its a shame they never found someone to fully replace Chapman, he could win people over and use this to help raise money and get the best stuff for the team.
McLaren had Ron Dennis, Williams had Frank Williams, but Lotus never really found a true businessman to get the money, Peter Warr could run the race team, but not the rest of it to the same standard as Ron Dennis for example who was excelent at finding money and suppliers etc.
Lotus was heavily reliant on its history, hence its rapid demise after results dried up.
Where as Williams have had 2 winless runs both longer than that of lotus and though struggling still continue thanks to better financial management.

Are you sure its not about wanting your country to win? What people dont know is that Senna had a pre-contract with Lotus for 1984 since 1983 but they choose Mansel when they were already going to announce Senna in a couple weeks, the reason? Because the sponsor was british and they also wanted a british driver. Senna was so mad and hurt by that but since that day he "learned" how F1 works and for this reason he disallow Warwick from joining Lotus team years later, he thought: "british guy, british team, they're giving him so many compliments, well I've had enough of that".
