My 06 Chevy Duramax dually was stolen in may. Zf6 swap was always on my list. It was in perfect condition and trying to find another is like finding a needle in a haystack.
I wish gm zf6s weren't so hard to find. I been wanting one for my 6.0 truck cause its a much nicer transmission than the 4l80e or the nv4500 and they will bolt to the LS based engines with a custom flywheel and clutch. Its the perfect truck transmission
I've got an LML I would want to swap, but unfortunately I think its near impossible because of the tuning and wiring required. I can't find any evidence online of an actual LML with a swap
I believe the bolt pattern would be different if your going from powerstroke to a duramax but an adapter kit and clutch shouldn’t be too bad to find. The fords also had oil coolers on there ZF6 transmissions so watch out for that.

Did your bellhousing bolts work for the zf6 or did you have to buy new ones??

zf6 is a downgrade cant hold nearly as much as good built allison
There are a few issues, but the most important one is you're missing the point; manual > automatic.
