Thanks for reminding people that not every set is perfect in the sense that power outages on generators can happen at any time. I’m glad your crowd was forgiving and appreciated the battery speaker even at a lower volume. Definitely has me wanting to invest in a bigger jackery though.
I used a 3000w Goal Zero generator last year for a similar gig and it was amazing. I'm sure the Jackery Equivalent would also be awesome
Great vid, gotta love those private last dance, luckily in my area it’s not a really huge trend you see often at every wedding.
Came for the both tubes, stayed because I needed to know how many power outages you had!
😂 this gig is part of the reason I have battery movers now
Awesome gig log!! Great job troubleshooting -- thats tough with the power outages.
Thanks for watching!
Brother i am sorry that happen to you, but you still pulled it off and did a great job...
Good Gig Log!!!
Thank you!
SO glad you did NOT turn off and unplug the moving lights!
Thank you!
Here’s a tip! Use rubber shims under the mic pole bases to balance and even out the tubes
I'll give that a try, thanks for the tip!
@@DJDarylBennett of course! I mount my tubes the same way and those shims are lifesaving even on a flat ground since these tubes and those OnStage stands never seem to handle the weight perfectly
WHAT IS A RUBBER SHIM?
@@donaldpittAmazon my guy.
Clients don't realize how much juice gets sucked up by other items at outdoor events. You said it was a 6K generator so likely only 5,000 running watts or so. 5,000watts / 120volts = 41 amps of power and that's probably split between two different circuits on the board. Between the chandeliers and the string lights, that consumes a chunk. Your typical coffee urn uses about 12 amps. Most weddings have three of them. One for regular coffee, one for decaf and another for hot water. Add that to the lights and another 15 amps for your system every time the bass hits and you were killing that generator. You clearly did the best you could in that situation. Great Gig log and... great job making lemonade out of lemons!
Thanks for your feedback and your math!
Nice one man! Glad you were able to recover after stopping and starting so many times!
Did you ever think about turning off the moving heads at one point? Or did you need them?
I did have them off for a while, but I turned them on again after turning off the incandescent chandaliers. They're small and LED and I figured that they weren't what was tripping the power
@@DJDarylBennett I was thinking the same as djdrizzy. I agree that the LED light part of the lights are not of too much concern however the electric motors for the moving heads probably pull enough power to be relevant to this issue. I'm also curious if it could've made a difference. However from what you say in the video, their generator might not have been a true 6600W. btw thanks for sharing the video.
when you buy soundswitch control one controller, does it come with a software as well or still need to pay monthly payment? thank you! great videos!
Thanks! You still need to buy a license or subscribe.
6 power outages. what generator were they using...just want to steer clear of that model?
I don't remember... it was gas, like 6000 watts allegedly. Wasn't a Honda that's for sure. I've ran 4 ETX subs and 4 tops and like 20 lights with a 6000watt Honda
Awesome video.
I also mount my moving heads to my gravity stands.
I see you do it a little different. Where did you get the knob bolt to connect the moving heads to the stands?
Thanks for watching!
Using these: amzn.to/45llhJR, how do you do it?
How did u mount the movers on the gravity stand?
That crowd looked like chill people, radar detects no drama queens on first sight ;)
Do these Both 360 only run on battery? How long do they last if only running on batteries?
Will be hard to keep up with them for 6-8 hours running only on batteries or am I mistaking?
I got a pair of GVM tubes they run on batteries OR current. I like the flexibility when it comes to lighting.
They easily run 2 events on 1 charge!
I had them on at 2pm until 10pm, with loads of charge left! I had them on 6-hour mode I believe, and had them blacked out until it got dark around 8
@@DJDarylBennett cool, thanks for your fast replies, sounds good.
Can you provide a link for the adapters that you use to put your tube lights on mic stands please?
These ones! amzn.to/3Hq8RGf
I’m curious on the titan tubes, I see they can go up to 160 channel mode. For 4 of these which channel mode do you put them in soundswitch? Are they all on the same channel or do you give them their own channel for chasing effects and things like that?
I put 4 of them on 80-channel mode, so that I can have 16-zones of control in my pixel chases, and they're unique so that I can do offsets, etc... When first getting started, you can do 12-channel mode so you can just leverage the built-in macros
@@DJDarylBennett thank you, that is helpful. For your 80 channel settings do you run two universes then for all your lights you have going on?
@@heathclark2825 naw I can fit them in a single universe. I go over my exact setup in my latest video
what are those pole stands you are using with the tube lights?
Gravity Stands

Whats the gravity stand link? It looks like is the same as the R4 lights, btw great gig!
Thanks!
amzn.to/3QJAnom Here's the link
@@DJDarylBennett Np! 🫡 im starting my journey as a Dj 🎧 too! Thanks for all the feedback! Just bought my both lighting tubes 💯
Got 16 of those ir4s. Great lights. And $75 each! Not sold on the light tubes yet…
I think that the uplights are a game changer, so much easier to use! So affordable. You can have a great setup without tubes!
@@DJDarylBennett also. Check out the shehds wireless dongle instead of the Donnor. Mine last up to 20 hours on a charge
@@rjpimprov this one? www.shehds.com/products/wireless-rechargeable-wireless-dmx-receiver-laser-light-300m-controller-receiver-for-led-stage-lights-led-lights-p0284?DIST=QU9PGA%3D%3D
TBH it looks exactly the same as the Donner Dongle, and I'm not sure how they differ
@@DJDarylBennett yup. Have like 20 of them
What’s up man great video that sucks with all those power outage but shit happens. The question I have for you is I’m trying to purchase those lights. How is the company that you purchased them form because I reached out to both lighting USA and they’re like four or $500 more, how was your experience with this company?
My personal experience has been good. The products ship quickly, and they arrive in working order, communication is a little slower than with an American company, but usually within a day. Overall I like working with both lighting direct and enjoy saving some money.
What speaker system do you use?
The evolve 50
What did you use to mount your moving head on?
This is what I used amzn.to/47V3ISQ
@@DJDarylBennett is there a platform that the mover sits on? Speaker pole platform adapter?
@@ArteeMediaHawaii the gravity stands have a M10 hole in the top
HOW MUCH IS YOUR DJ STAND?
The dj booth?
@@DJDarylBennett yes please
Replace that generator.
Would if I could
