- From Premier League star Fabinho at Liverpool to three-time Champions League winning Barcelona and Inter Milan legend Samuel Eto'o, HITC Sevens takes a look at a number of players who failed to succeed at Real Madrid after coming through the La Liga sides' La Fábrica youth ranks, but made it big time elsewhere.

It's mad how Marcus Alonso got away with that...
If you are famous and rich you can get away with anything.
@@GCAbleism158 just ask prince Andrew 😂
Marcos*
I mean a fine of 61,000€ thats so low like what the fuck
Money my friend
Nobody talks about how good mata was at Chelsea he was an absolute baller, goals assists he had it all, one season involved in 30 goals or close to, he had free kicks and great delivery from a corner, truly one of the best attacking midfielders the premier league has ever seen in my opinion up there with silva, fabregas, de bruyne to name a few
You forgot to mention his biggest achievement with us, providing the assist in the UCL Final in Munich. From 2011-13, Mata was, arguably, the best CAM in the world, alongside Özil.
@@pritishbhattacharya1270 yeah very true he always stepped up at the right time in big games didn’t shy away from the big occasions
OG's will remember Javier Portillo in early 2000's, who broke all youth goal records, and was groomed as Raul's replacement. As well as Pavon, who was part of the "Zidanes y Pavones" policy. Both had immense potential, but sadly, disappeared from football before even hitting their peak. ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
Javier Portillo was a beast in Championship Manager 01/02
Rarely seen a more Rise and Fall of someone more than Pavon and Portillo
@Ryan O'Dwyer I honestly thought he'd be the next Real Madrid great. It's quite baffling what makes certain young players take the next step, and other not

@@bluest.9320 just for you, i'll cut off a couple of them from the end :))
On the back of your caveat about Marcos Alonso's car crash, and quite a few of these in videos about footballers, a video about how footballers get away with such crimes, and why it's never highlighted perhaps/something along those lines? P.S thanks for all the continued videos, great stuff 👍

I was also thinking of this due to the recent Jerome Boateng saga.
La Fábrica making us Madridistas proud once again. Awesome video Alfie, top man.
I mean... I would get this comment if you actually use said talent...
Alonso literally got away with murder, that's insane
Rich and a footballer, sad but true. If it was any regular person, it wouldn't be any discussion
How is that murder? It was his friend who sat with him inside his car who died. His friend must be fully aware that Alonso is too drunk to drive and still chose to sit with him in the car, so some responsibility lies with the victim too. It is not like Alonso killed a walking pedestrian or someone random.
@@vanlandings7466 He still killed someone. Doesn't change anything. Drunk driving is illegal, end of.
@Ben Lane Some places recognise drunk driving as a choice therefore premediated therefore murder. Not sure if Spain operate this way but an argument can be made for it being murder.
@@vanlandings7466 lets not victim blame..
Starting my morning with Alfie, can't go wrong, great vid as usual
lmao wrote this before the marcus alonso bit didn't you
I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about our academy. It’s supremely underrated and has been miles better than Barca’s in recent years
But Barca academy has produced players what are playing for the main team now.
@@footballbrainer279 real madrid also produces players for the 1st team
@@aizatalfateh how many are in the senior team now?
@@footballbrainer279 4 if you don't count another 4 youth players who's not registered with the first team, but all of them are basically first team players this season. That's not a bad number tbh.
@@aizatalfateh but I love Valverde.. the best academy product lately
Hey man, you said that Cambiasso played for Boca Juniors on loan while showing a picture of him playing for Boca's biggest rivals River Plate. Both Boca and River fans will be really mad with that. hehehe
As a River fan, I can say I am! Haha. Much love Alfie, hope you support los millonarios
Madrid have a massively underrated academy
Video idea:
Best active manager in every age category. Start at 30-35 and maybe end at 75-80.
As it is a video about La Fabrica, I'd like to mention *La Quinta Del Buitre* (The team of the vulture).
Emilio Butragueño, Michel, Manuel Sanchis, Miguel Pardeza & Rafael Martin Vazquez broke into the Real Madrid team in the mid 1980s. All of them came up from La Fabrica & were playing in Castilla before their call-ups to the senior team. Butragueño's nickname was El Buitre & he was the best player among the five. So, the group was named after him by Spanish Sports journalist Julio Cesar Iglesias. Together they helped the team to win 5 league titles in a row & establish a hegemony in Spanish football. Everyone except Rafael Martin Vazquez enjoyed very successful careers in Real Madrid. The main reason they're not as famed as the Galacticos is probably the lack of success in European Cup. Nevertheless, they were probably the best group of players to come out of the same academy till that time.
Don't forget that they also played the Copa del Rey final with Castilla against the senior squad.
@@kristianlolo2677 I'm not 100% sure but I think they weren't part of that final
They were successful in Spain and had one of the most prolific goal scorers in history: Hugo Sanchez
The 80s for Real they had a chance for all 3 UEFA competitions
Losing the European Cup in 1981 to Liverpool
Losing the Cup Winners Cup in 1983 to Aberdeen
However did win back to back UEFA Cups in 1985 and 1986 ; onli Manolo Sanchis mananged to win a Champions League with Real before he retired
hakimi, marcos llorente, hermoso, odegaard, reguilon, oscar rodriguez - these guys could probably made it to this kind of video if there is one in the future.
Odegaardb ain’t from their academy
@@loukanjima-bechard7180 Considering he joined them at 16 or 17 years of age you could say so
Fluminense have one of The Best Youth academys in Brazil.
Thiago Silva
Marcelo
Fabinho
Just to name a few.
Ill never forget Eto'o's season at Everton. Vintage scenes
Further Adu, nice one Alfie
2:05 = it's been over how many years now and it's still EASILY still hilarious to me
Nice video alfie
Can’t believe alonso killed someone and got away with a slap on the wrist
money and fame
Cool video, Alfie! Although you mixed Pavón and Helguera :D
You should make this a series. There are more clubs worth looking into it, like Portugal s big 3, Ajax, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, River Plate, Boca Juniores, among others
Real Madrid has one of the most underrated academies in the world of football.
lets be fair, a lot of those they actually buy off other teams' youth academies when they are 16-19. Fabinho for example for sure wasn't brough up by Real Castilla
When speaking of Pavon, your picture is actually that of Ivan Helguera (Also a RM graduate, much older and accomplished than Pavon) - From a RM fan
It sounds lacklustre at first, compared to the mighty Real Madrid but a video on Southampton academy players would be very entertaining and a real eye opener for a lot of people.
Seeing as we're talking of the likes of Gareth Bale, Alan Shearer, Le Tissier and so on 🤔
Would be awesome if you did a Chelsea academy list :)
Pls do a video on the afc Wimbledon story, how the FA allowed their move away and the raise in promotions they had. 9 in 11 years.
Also how Whyteleafe fc are now gone over a ground problem which ian rush acts confused about.
How there is a Phoenix club for the fans now.
What about covering Lincoln Red Imps’s excellent journey into the Europa conference league group stage? Also, a second time suggesting about covering Romanov’s reign of ownership at Hearts
@HITCSevens i have a video idea for you like a documentary style one about Alan Hudson, seeing he has asked the FA to remove his playing record and might be interesting to learn more about it
Actually mata was world class for us from 2014 to 2018 but he doesn’t have the legs for the premier league now but it hasn’t always been like that he was sooooo good for ages
Osasuna is kindly underrated team...azpi, monreal and juanfran used to play for them...how about you make a video about them, Alfie?? Maybe about 7 best player to play for Osasuna?
So, my idea: 7 Best individual performances by players who only spent that one season in the top flight.
would be a great video
Great idea, tho I'm not sure why you look like you're auditioning for a crusade to the holy land
@@willywonka7812 A St.George Cross, Flag of England, from the Euros 😄🍻 But forget the "Holy Land"; what the schoolbooks don't dwell on is that 99% of the Crusades were against pre-Christian Europeans and those who had converted to "heretical" Christian sects 🤔 Bit of a tangent...
Video idea top 10 smallest clubs who atm could be huge in 10 years time
Didn't know that about Alonso. He should have went to prison.
Have gone*
Mata is still one of the best player at united and can still shoot a ball and stick it onto a dime. Still fit and will always give 100% when he comes on and he is a good footballer that can teach young players how to be winers
Marcos Llorente, Achraf Hakimi, Mario Hermoso, Callejon
Further Adu with Adu's picture 😂😂😂 I see what you did there 😂😂😂
Day 3:
You should do an XI of players who could represent strange nations you wouldn't expect. Alexander Isak and Eritrea for example
Hmm, here's one Alfie. 7 most regretted substitutions of all time. Be it in a cup final and taking off a player in hot form, only to go on and lose the match eventually and to fail to achieve something huge. Something among those lines.
How did Cambiasso play for Boca when you show him in a River Plate shirt?
Imagine being 100% responsible for another human being's death due to your own utter recklessness, only to have to pay less than a week's wages as your only major punishment
Make a video on Brentford Moneyball
you don't know that, in the case of cambiasso, he didn't have a spanish passport and there was a foreign player regulation for starting lineup. so Real Madrid couldn't play him regularly. Thus, the coach decided to choose Borja Fernandez as defensive midfielder alternative. Besides, he had to compete with David Beckham, Ivan Helguera that were more suitable for Madrid's attacking tatic at that time
it didn't take long to notice Marco's Alonso's father
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 182)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
Lol
Here, let's give Alfie a hand. From back to front; Lehman, Babbel, Mertesacker, Helmer, Huth, Ziege, Hamann, Otzl, Ballack, Klinsman, Podolski.
@@wolfmauler Nice 👍😁🖖

I’ve been to the Ciudad de Real Madrid and played on the Alfredo di Stefano stadium, that place is epic I can see how youth players grow there
Cambiasso was one of the main reasons why Leicester didn't get relegated in 2015, wish he stayed for the next season to lift the Prem
I think that picture was Ivan Helguera not Pavon?
Can you do a bear starting 11 of players arsene wenger almost sign that would be funny there would be messi and Ronaldo along with many more big names and the team would be stacked along with the manager being arsene himself
Do one for Aatlanta academy please
Can you do the Barcelona version
Maradona was crazy to not take Zanetti or Cambiasso to the 2010 WC. Playing Jonas Gutierrez as a full-back was a bit mad as well tbh.
You could've just said 'Maradonna was crazy'
Suggestion : Rating/comparing Europe 1st division in english system. For ex: Mandolivian team sheriff will be placed in league 2 or non league
Edit: Moldova*
Most European teams would be a premier league team with a few exceptions - Sheriff and maybe Club Brugge...
Do this again but chelsea
1:01. It says "anal canal +" behind Zidane! Maybe it's my juvenile mind but I couldn't stop laughing
Request: Was the 1954 world cup final fixed?
The pic at 1:25 is not Pavon
Raul was originally from Atletico Madrid’s youth academy 😓
Damn he's slaughtering the Spanish players' pronunciation
La Fábrica, not Fabrica ,the thing over the letter a means that a is read as the strongest syllable in the word, also it's not Javi, the X is read as a Sh
Do one of atletico academy
Hakimi, theo hernandez and Marcos Llorente??
Hernandez came through the Atletico youth ranks, but the other two certainly could have featured!
Day 8: Worst Champions League winners in terms of league finish. E.g. Chelsea 2012
Could’ve made it a starting XI Alfie
It still hurts me that Raul, Casillas, CR7 or Ramos didn't retired at Madrid 😏😏
Madrid academy have produce alot of world-class players though.
Cambiasso played for River Plate, not Boca (min 12:13)
Alonso went full Fernando
Starts at 2:11
Day 27 of asking : ranking the managerial careers of Alex Ferguson's ex players (alt titles - 7 best/7 worst)
Mallorca actually won the Copa del Rey with Eto’o in the squad.
7 best player who never won the league titles
1:25 Jay Cartrwight?
Alonso is a killer
thas was not Pavon, that was Ivan Helguera
Like how juanfrans first name is juanfrancisco
Most irritating thing about this video for me is the use of the word "murder" when on about Alonso. He didn't go out with the intention of killing that woman. It's not murder, it's vehicular manslaughter. He should still absolutely have gone to prison though, there is absolutely no debate there.
Hello, I think you’re always worried about pronouncing words properly, so I wanted to tell you that “fábrica” is not pronounced as you said it in the video. You stressed the second syllable, but, actually, the first syllable is the one that’s stressed.
It would be FÁbrica, not fáBRIca.
Cheers mate, awesome video.
without further adu...I saw that wink wink
Cambiasso played for Riber plate, not Boca Juniors...
Day 25: where would a team of Alfie Potts Harmer lookalikes finish in the premier league?
Todd cantwell
Steve Mcmanaman
Antoine Griezmann
Jimmy Bullard
As I sit here in Calcutta in an overcast evening with a coffee and dark chocolate, this video comes out. ❤️
Alfie is the 'shorshe ilish' of CZcamsrs. The best.
What happened to Panathinaikos?
Did you just miscalled River Plate as "Boca Juniors" at 12:08? Bruh... way to call abuse on yourself
Yeah. From both Boca and River fans.
Alumnus is the m singular. Alumni is plural
have you ever made a "best 11 to never play in the big five leagues"?
5:49 she was 19
Still hoping for a "What on Earth is going on at Sunderland?". We passed on signing Marcos Alonso permanently and decided to blow money on a load of shite like Ricky Alvarez, Jack Rodwell and countless others.
And then you got relegated two seasons in a row, the second one with a hilarious Netflix documentary.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 yeah, Netflix covers the second relegation quite well but I think the story leading up to it would be a good HITC video there's some horrendous mismanagement. Our story is infamous at this point, even after that second relegation we blew promotion attempts several times including losing a playoff final in the 95th minute
Bolton is in Lancashire not Greater manchester unless you're a tory also do a video on belenenses pls
It is officially in Greater Manchester now though, isn't it? That ones been in the pipeline for a while, will have to get round to it.
wow alonso really got away with murder

Alfie's my favourite CZcamsr, but I have to admit, I do play him at 1.25 speed. I don't mind if it sounds like he's high on coke.
