The van Gaal sacking was even more cruel when you consider that Woodward briefed the media that van Gaal was to be sacked irregardless of the final result. The embargo on that news was just after the final whistle so van Gaal enters the press conference smiling, only to be bombarded with questions about his imminent sacking.

On 19 January 2015, Ancelotti was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame and on 20 January 2015, he won the IFFHS 2014 Award as The World's Best Club Coach. Real Madrid finished the 2014-15 league season in second place with 92 points, two off treble-winning Barcelona and scoring a record 118 goals in the process. They were eliminated in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey, and lost 3-2 on aggregate against Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals. On 25 May 2015, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez announced that the club's board had taken "a very difficult decision" to relieve Ancelotti of his duties with immediate effect.

Hey love the videos and wanted to request a topic for one. Now Gareth Southgate has his new contract and is safe from the speculation of blurts like me, it might be the right time to ask... Was bringing on Marcus Rashford, who hadn't kicked a ball all tournament, to miss a penalty in the final of the euros, after England's long wait, the biggest managerial gaff of all time? Me and my friends are convinced it is. Hidden at first by the new England culture and optimism that grew in the tournament, then by the outpouring of racism and vitriol as the England fans reverted to type. But we don't know the runners up to compare it too. Would love to see you tackle this in your usual pragmatic and witty style. Thanks for the content keep the videos coming!

    - Rafa was always the Interim One at Chelsea. He was never meant to stay beyond the end of that season.
    - Sarri was nowhere close to the sack at Chelsea. We fans were unhappy about 2 things - "Sarriball" which even after 1 full season, we never really understood (remember the 6-1 mauling at City anyone?), and the blind preference of Jorginho over Fabregas. But hey, it won us a trophy 🤷🏻‍♀️. Had it not been for Juve buying him out, he would've remained at Chelsea.

surely roberto di matteo worth a mention? he won chelsea the champions league as an interim manager and got sacked a few months later after given a full time job. his successor was also the pretty rubbish andre villas boas as well just to rub it in. very peculiar decision.
