I miss Tim Krul at the WC 2014 in this list. It's easy to include midfielders and strikers in this list because they can come on and score goals but Tim Krul came on cold after 120 minutes of football and put in a masterclass in goal by either stopping the penalties or looking so big in goal the player taking the penalty missed. Without LVG bringing on Krul, managers nowadays, like Tuchel did with Kepa in the European Supercup game, wouldn't have dared to bring on goalies for penalties only. It really was an iconic substitution.
yea this was my first thought. oh well, if this does well, I won't be surprised he'll be in part 2
Krul's substitution was merely in a quarter final, for a team that did not end up winning the trophy, and Alfie stated clearly that the occasion was the deciding factor, not the sensation of it. Krul should not be on this list, and I'm saying that as a Dutchman.
@@BrianStorm742 I think the quarter final of the World Cup is pretty important
@@BrianStorm742 Krul's substitution was a deciding factor, the Netherlands just didn't win a trophy. I just happen to disagree with Alfie on this one, i think some substitutions like this one have had an enormous impact, just not on the team but in general. Also, i'm Dutch as well lol ewa
@@playboiqwerty2395 if the Netherlands had become world champions, then yes.
I love how every mention of the Irish guy get more ruthless every now and then.
The Irish guy is clueless
@@mohamedzaid8905 Irish Guy isn't there for his profound insight, he's an entertainer, and a good host in that regard. it balances out with one HITC offering the entertainment, the other providing the showmanship.
@@Omnipotentmonkey He's not really entertaining, he's still using the same jokes from 2018 every video. He became very annoying and has to change a lot of aspects in order to become funny again
@@mohamedzaid8905 yea he got a little boring ;/
@@mohamedzaid8905 humor is subjective
I never realised there was an art to youtube intros but Alfie seems to have mastered it.
And making videos in general
Dude needs to quit it with that lame ass Eddie Howe joke though. Been doing it for like a year now. Get new material bro.
@@rodycaz8984 It still makes me laugh everytime maybe I'm just easily pleased.
Yeah, someone please tell me i wasn't the only one expecting Hull City to do a comeback
I’m a hull fan so no 😂
Not with their keeper playing as bad as he did
He set us up for that one. The only clue was that it appeared before Alfie had even started his countdown. Hands up if you didn't expect him to pick a 70s DFB Pokal final as his number one.
Will always be pleased with Ben Watson coming on as a sub to score the winning goal in the FA Cup final, but I would be, as a Wigan fan
Gini wijnaldum against barca. Comes on at 1/2 time, scores 2 goals and sends Liverpool to the final despite starting the game 3-0 😠
Yh surprised he missed that one
Relax 😂🤦♂️
No Eder in the 2016 Euro final? My disappointment is immeasurable...
@@kimmichszn8900 he was injured for the final game
Yep Eder in for Renato Sanchez has to be on there....
Bendtner scoring 11 seconds after sub should be in it too
@@kimmichszn8900 probably not on one leg...
He won the Euros for Portugal
So glad Didi was in there or it would have been a scandal, most underrated impact on a game I've ever seen
I've barely seen a better performance from a DM than Didi in that second half
Carried Gerrard
The number one spot isn't filled by the best moment nor by the best player, but simply because it's too badass to happened that it's practically illegal.
Number one spot is a joke. Clearly not better than Bale.
@@rodycaz8984 agreed, literally no one outside of germany cares about someone coming off the bench to score just one goal for a domestic cup. It’s quite disrespectful to the other professionals who have done much bigger on a much better stage, without being assholes in the process
I was perplexed by the choice tbh
@DDeglane16 it’s not about his personal skill it’s about the moment. And the moment isnt too special, he only scored 1 semi-decent goal in a domestic cup competition. Compared to Bale who scored a bicycle in the biggest game of club football, Netzer ( who honestly isnt even close to top 15 Attacking Mids of all time) does not deserve top spot.
I still remember the 99 Champions League Final. At the time (being 11 years old), that was my first ever shock in a football match. ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
that was quite a final
epic game
👍👍
@@moumenrezaei1330 true
As a Liverpool fan it broke my heart to see us lose to Real, but even I had to stand and applaud Gareth Bale for that first goal, it was beautiful, so elegant, what it took to pull it off I can't even imagine, the pressure of the moment and the occasion is so immense so to have the confidence and belief that you can pull it off is something that cements your name in history. His second goal was terrific too, but the first, for me, is the greatest goal ever scored in a Champions League final, a very close second is obviously Zidane's versus Bayer Leverkusen.
@@wovoaoh it literally is tho.
Yeah when it went in I’ve never felt weirder in my life. I wanted to implode but the football fan in me had to appreciate the goal
The 2nd goal I wouldn’t call a great goal tho, any keeper with 46 chromosomes keeps that out
The banter between Alfie and Michael is real . Alfie is prolly still a tad bit salty that Michael got half a mil first
Well, the trivial will always speak to more among the masses...
@@needfoolthings there’s only a 60k difference lmao
"stretched the arsenal backline, running in behind them and coming deep" ;Alfie Potts Harmer - please never change Alfie. Never change.
Ah yes another 18 minute classic from HITC Sevens 👌🏾
Christ, hearing you read out that AC Milan XI both gave me a nostalgia hit and really hammered home how frighteningly good that team were
Tim Krul in the 2014 World Cup quarter final is a good one as well. At least considering he was a goalkeeper.
Rodrygo has entered the chat seven and a half months later in a crazy crazy semi-final champions league match
As a Liverpool fan Gareth Bale’s goals, while heartbreaking at the time, were incredibly important. It showed how incredibly important it was to get a good goalkeeper and is arguably one of the main reasons we won a champions league and prem after.
That intro, my lord 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Great video, as always. But you are missing another german substitute...Lars Ricken in the CL Final 1997 Vs. Juventus
Daniel Amokachi, Everton vs Tottenham, FA Cup semi-final 1995.
Subbed himself on without the manager's permission, scored twice in 8 minutes.
These are all great, but none will hold up to the impact of Mohamed Gedo or as he is called Mohamed Nagy( who is a former Hull City loanee by the way) in the African Cup of Nations in 2010. In all 6 games he game on as a substitute. He scored 5 goals and only failed to score in only 1 game and those goals included the winner in the Final vs Ghana.
So in the 173 minutes he played, he managed to help his team win the title, got the top goal scorer award and won the player of the tournament.
I have never heard anyone else make this kind of impact from the bench.
Since the moment I read the title of the video, I was waiting for Netzer and I was not disappointed in the end :D

1. Guten Morgen = good morning
2. Geil = cool
@@daniroze4157 Now to know how to pronounce it... like "guile", but with a shorter vowel and the regular [L] rather than the english dark L.
The original No. 1 was someone else, but Netzer simply put himself in that place, nothing anyone could've done.
M i the only dude who was expecting the hull city story to go differently?😂🙆♂️
no xD
Götze's winning goal might be one of the greatest goals in world cup history.
Still almost tear up thinking about the 99 final. As an 8 year old kid it made you think anything was possible
As a Bayern fan, Lars Ricken destroying juventus in the ucl final is pretty iconic and match defining
7 best goalkeeper performances (for both teams) in a penalty shootout, for example Donnarumma and Pickford at the Euros final both goalkeepers standing out in the shootout
This is good idea, that was Pickford, and I'd suggest Schmeichel and Subasic at the 2018 WC
Tim Krul in 2014.
Kahn and Canizares in the Champions League Final 2001 or Neuer and Casillas in 2012
Ah yes, not sure why I put Henderson
✨Berti Wots✨
Lovely to see Alfie speaking out German names with such a passion, keep going lad
Wow the unbias is impressive, although there is one type of substitution I’m surprised you didn’t mention. A goalkeeper substitution. Krul is the only one that comes to mind but I’m sure your knowledge is better than mine!
Yes, Tim Krul in 2014 should be on the list.
Caballero for Chelsea vs Man Ci- oh wait...
@@arcticsime How about Kepa's just last week?
Didi Hamann is the worst German pundit nowadays, every first grader could tell you the same 😁👍🏻
I am a first grader and I agree
Pretty sure Bastian Schweinsteiger is actually worse as a pundit.
@@TheGerudan Not in a million years, he isn't that good but Didi is the worst, I call him Didi Dumpfbacke ("Didi Dorkman") 😁

7 most unique goals in the premier league

The banter between the two channels is so good.
ole is one of the most important players for man utd....without him the treble would nt been possible
Henrik larsson is my all time favourite player. What an icon. 🍀🏴
16:49 WOW 👏 I didn't know Carlo Ancelotti was still Real Madrid's coach back then! He looks so much younger😅🤣
All of Italy is like "Subbing in Rashford and Saka in Minute 118 has to be number 1!"
It was actually Rashford and Sancho…..

Day 18: where would a team of Alfie Potts Harmer lookalikes finish in the premier league?
20th
Champions…hip.
Great video as always! I don't really comment here, but I've been following the channel for over a year now. Even though I know the importance of the match was not the same as in the finals you mentioned here, I was expecting (or rather hoping) to see the Dutch goalkeeper substitution (Tim Krul), just before penalties. Then again, I'm Dutch so I'm probably biased :)
My favorite sub was when Stampy G came on v United at Anfield in his last gamne v United
Brilliant substitution that.
Retired for years and still rent free in united fans heads
@@azzad_a6966 it's his favourite substitution, it's an honour
@@azzad_a6966 exactly what I was thinking when I read the comment lmao
This introduction is absolutely brilliant!
Marcos Llorente against Liverpool. Bringing on a defensive midfielder as a striker who then turns the game around from 0-2 to a 3-2 win against the reigning European champions with two goals and an assist. So impactful that he's remained a forward / attacking midfielder since then, he had never played up front before that game. Great substitutions should be more significant than 'just' goals imo, besides his impact on the scoreboard it was a wholly unexpected, bold move that shaped the fortunes of both Llorente as a player and Atlético as a club as a result. Llorente was their best outfield player when they won the league last year, contributing to 25 goals. He'd only ever scored twice professionally (for Real Madrid) before Anfield.
Slipped in Eddie Howe like we wouldn't notice AHAHAH, legend
He does it in most of his videos, he also used to say "without further ado.." and show a picture of Freddy Adu in the same way
@@gamewithgreg He also at least once showed Ki-Jana Hoever when he said "however"
Ethan Horvath subbing on for Steffen in the Nations League final.
That's a heroic substitution! But it's CONCACAF hall of fame and made the USA the very first winners of the Nations League
Indeed,an intense video which you have uploaded and all the very best for your beloved Hull City in tonight's match at home against Derby County, good friend Alfie!!!:-D
HITC Sevens Awesome content man, can you do all time 11 & subs from decades like 80's & 90's that be great to see
Lucas Moura in the CL semifinal 2nd leg against Ajax as an honorable mention
Glad you mentioned Bierhoff. First one I thought of when I saw this vid on my feed
That number one spot is as hipster you can get, Alfie. Not including Lars Ricken who, did not only score twice in the UEFA Champions League final against an unstoppable Juventus team , also did it with his first touch of the ball! Bare in mind that was the moment which gave a mediocre player in Lars Ricken a decent career onwards and subsequently Borussia Dortmunds first ever UCL trophy.
Great video, but I would have included the substitutions of Wiltord (scorer of the equaliser), Pirés (assist for the golden goal) and Trezeguet (golden goal scorer) in the Euro 2000 final against Italy. But maybe it could be discussed in a video about the best coaching decisions that changed games
I appreciate the inclusion of the somewhat obscure substitution at the end, but making that the number one is hard to justify. I would say one of the ones that's won a major European trophy is more important than one which simply that won a domestic cup.
Not that I disagree with any single inclusion, they were all worthy. Great video, as usual.
How about a companion video: The 7 worst substitute appearances of all time? Such as Sulley Muntari's one for Inter vs Catania (he got a red and gave away a penalty within 2 minutes) perhaps?
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on for Mario Melchiot/Robert Huth on for Scott Parker during the infamous UCL Semi Final against Monaco, swung the game in Monaco's favour
I definitely thought of larsson when I saw this vid to he changed that game for sure. What a player 👏
That gotze substitution against Argentina was legendary
One of the greatest intros in the history of CZcams
For me Jonas Guitieras coming on and scoring 2 goals to keep Newcastle up just months after recovering from Cancer
How about the most historically impactfull matches of all time?
For example the miracle of Bern. It was not only the dawn of german football but it also majorly impacted german moral.
"Wir sind wieder wer. Wir sind Weltmeister."
(We are someone again. We are world champoins.)
Idea for a video. Do one where it is impossible to mention your beloved Hull City. Great videos Alfie. Like the detail you go into.
5:52 "Neither Cristiano Ronald or Lionel Messi did it" well Messi did score a 108 minute goal giving the lead to Argentina and if not for Mbappe's penalty later,it would have been a World Cup Winning Goal.
Day 98: Indonesia XI If All Eligible Players Had Declared For Them

Nainggolan would be top of that list
Indonesia Raya

I know very well why this didn't make the list but an honourable mention for Andre Schurrle who came off the bench to score a hattrick against Fulham in ten minutes. From the left of field too...
Absolutely Gini Wijnaldum vs Barca needs to be on here
The best intro you've ever done.
Part 2 of this please
Day 1: Worst Champions League winners, in terms of league finish
Chelsea for sure
Probably 2012 chelski
2000 real madrid and 2012 chelsea
Thst performance against AC Milan by Didi is even more impressive given he did most of it with a broken foot
Raddy Antic for Luton against Man City 1984, last game of the season at Maine Road, 42,000 in the ground, a good 10,000 of them from Luton, the hatters needed three points and had to win to stay up, City needed a point to stay up, didn't matter what happened elsewhere, it was all or nothing, cracking game, lots of heart stopping moments, David Pleat sent on Radomir Antic, a former Yugoslavian international and a player of immense quality who was a wonderful striker of the ball with either foot and had skill to give away (RIP sadly passed now) with just under 20 minutes to go, with four minutes to go Raddy stepped up to score a great goal from outside the area that sent the Luton fans into absolute raptures and City sliding into the old second division. When David Pleat was asked after the game what was he thinking putting Antic on and he said "sometimes the most inspired thing you can do on the bench is hope, and when I put Raddy on he done exactly what i hoped he would do", he also said some time later that it was probably the most important win in the clubs history as it laid the foundation for the years that followed which were the most successful in the clubs history, they became a firmly established first division team (premier league of the day) that went deep into every competition for several years and won the littlewoods cup at wembley in what Trevor Brooking described as one of the best games he ever witnessed at the famous old stadium, David Pleats substitution, easily the most important ever.
so you are not going to put torres subsitution in the 2012 champions league semi-final? UNBELEIVABLE
I'm sorry but how have you not included Gini Wijnaldum vs Barcelona ??
Ikr
No mention of Lars Ricken for Borussia Dortmund v Juventus in '97?! Missed a trick there! 🙂 X
Harry Redknapp subbing on a fan for West Ham could be an honourable mention 😊
his goal was never offside!
I think there could be a case for some honorable mention for Juan Fernando Quintero in arguably the most important Libertadores final against Boca Juniors because that substitution alone made a tactical and moral shift in the whole River Plate side, creating the opportunity for what were the 1-1 and later in extra time scoring one of the most beautiful goals I ever seen in the Libertadores history, and later finishing all with a pass for Gonzalo Martínez giving the final result of 3-1.
Great content as usual but I find that there is a small shadowing of african football .
I can remember many great substitutes both in the african champions league and in Africa's Total AFCON .
Ghana in 2008 when Essien scored the wining goal against Nigeria when ghana was 1 man down or Mohamed Nagy Gedo how was the super sub in 2010 scoring 6 goals in 5 matches always scoring upon substitute and scoring more than 3 wining goals .
I think Asian, African and South American football needs some attention as well
Gini Wijnaldum getting subbed on against Barcelona and getting two goals to tie up the score on aggregate is probably the best substitution ever, Idk how it was missed
2:00 in the background, Arnold Muhren, Dutch legend.
In the first match I watched in a stadium Mark Viduka came off the bench to help Middlesbrough win the match, including scoring the winning goal, in a 2-1 victory against a star studded Chelsea team.
That into was the best HITC Sevens moment EVER😂
Do a part 2 for this video,
7 best player who never won the league titles
When he said at the start he didn't include Solskjaer I almost lost it till he mentioned when he scored 4 lmao
You’re a different looking person than I expected at least . I pictured you being a true Northern Anorak or Trainspotter Loner c/W flask , geeky spectacles and a notebook . I was astonished to see before the England game a young bloke more resembling a Surfer Dude 😁 ❤️ from Wessex witches
Wjnaldum vs barca scoring a brace vs barca is a good shout to be on here. But it gets overshadowed by divok origi and trents corner
is it possible for you to do a whats wrong with Lyon video? They went from reaching the CL semi in 2020 to now having to sell a lot of their players. Plus they havent made the CL for 2 years running
Last season we witnessed Rodrygo and Madrids incredible comeback against man city
The Hull city intro threw me off. I was waiting for a hat trick equaliser. Instead 8 0. WTF 🤣🤣🤣
The champions league final Manchester United they put not one but two subs and they both scored to win use the cup that was the best subs in a Mach ever
Eddie Gaven for Ben Olsen in 2007 Copa America vs Argentina should be on there! Also, Freddy Adu USA vs Panama Gold Cup semifinal 2011 ;-)
Bierhoff relatively unknown in Germany?? I very much doubt that pal, he was very well known in England before that goal, so pretty sure he was well known in his home country.
I really think lewa should be in the list tho. He banged in 5 goals in 9 minutes. And Gini wijnaldum against Barcelona literally indirectly won Liverpool a champions league
13:54 - the greatest substitution ever
Number 1 was just some dude who won a pokal final before his transfer.
As if that's better than cementing a treble in the finals of the champions league.
"AND SOLSKJAER WON IT!"
Like, come on now
I'm biased due to being a Middlesbrough fan but UEFA Cup Semi-Final 2006 Vs Steuna Bucharest. Bucharest winning 1-0 in the first leg then being 2-0 up in the 2nd leg. McLaren brings on Massimo Macaroni and then Middlesbrough win 4-2. That to me is one of the best substitutions I've seen.
Best intro ever…
i feel like gini wijnaldum vs barca deserves a spot on the list
Good video! Would you consider putting some women’s examples as well in some of these top 7 type things?
I am from hull as well good videos
The ultimate substitute- the Euro1992 Danish team.
How about Louis van Gaal's keeper swap for penalties with the national team? One of those things no one had ever thought of before.
People have thought about this before. Hans Meyer did it twice on 1.FC Nürnberg's DFB-Pokal run 2007
I didn't know that. Someone lied to me! :O
Bonus point on 4th place and 3rd place similarity: They're both Germans.
Missing that potential link there Alfie
HITC Sport is funny and a little bit informative while HITC Sevens is informative and a little bit funny.
Netzer also managed Hamburger to victory in the European Cup in 83. HITC Sevens is a certified football hip after this one.
