    YOU ARE THR BEST! My husband bought me a Bissell pet 2x Revolution about 8 years ago and the sprayer never worked right. I could only use the smallest spray tool and it would only work off and on. Well, recently the water pump went out and a local vacuum cleaner repair shop wanted to charge me $150 to fix it ($75 just to clean ot when I had just cleaned it). Anyway, I told them if it was more than $100 I couldn't afford it because we paid $200 for it new and my husband had just died and I had no money or credit. He had no life insurance either because his employer canceled ALL his insurances when they learned he had cancer. Anyway, this salesman still tried to sell me a $300 machine! I told him no and left there wondering what I was going to do. I have 3 parrots and my son's 2 old dogs. I NEED a carpet cleaner believe me! So, I started trying the process of elimination. I replaced all the belts and I knew I needed a water pump but Bissell doesn't sell them to the public. One day I was on Amazon and saw Bissell parts. I found my water pump, came home and after watching a video on replacing it, I did it. But it still wasn't spraying! Then I saw your video! You Da Man! Because I took the hose sprayer end apart and used the process of elimination again, as yoy did, and watched your video. You showed me everything I needed and after simply rinsing the nozzles out suddenly wdter was pouring out! I put it back together and tried all 3 cleaning tools and THEY ALL WORK NOW! AND the Bissell doesn't leak now either! From the time it was new, it leaked a little and it would hardly spray. Now it works better than new! And its because of me watching your videos and you being kind enough to share what you know, that I was able to fix my Carpet Cleaner myself. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!

    Thank you so much! It got me confidently looking for the problem, I had 2 issues with the hose, 1st the point of contact at the base of the machine needed to be pushed in a few times with a small screw driver as it was clogged or needed priming, then the very tip of the nozzle on the brush adaptor was clogged to. I just used a needle and it now works prefectly. All I need to do now is stop the drip from the water well. It's cracked slightly on the locking part,had been like it since getting out the box. Cheers again

    Thank you for all of the helpful videos to date on diagnosing and fixing the Bissell Pro Heat 2x Revolution Pet Pro, Wayne! My issue is I'm not getting any water out of the hose attachment, although the foot (base) of the carpet cleaner dispenses water just fine. Things I've checked/tried:
    1) Re-primed the pump by using an unopened ballpoint pen to hold down the spring-loaded seal in the hose attachment water supply port until water flows - no change
    2) Removed the nozzle attachment from the hose - no change
    3) Disassembled the hose trigger assembly and removed the trigger mechanism to bypass it - no change
    4) Blew compressed air and water through the water supply line in the hose - water passes fine, no signs of blockage
    5) Checked pump belt condition - It was intact and in place, but seemed possibly loose; replaced with a new OEM belt just in case, with no change
    6) Tested flow through pump output line after disconnecting line to the hose attachment water supply port - water flows, indicating pump is working
    7) Back-blew through the hose attachment water supply port with compressed air - air flows, no signs of blockage
    8) Double-checked hose attachment connection to the carpet cleaner - fully seated, still no signs of flow
    At this point I'm somewhat stumped. The carpet cleaner dispenses water through the nozzles in the foot (base) just fine, although I believe that works under gravity rather than utilizing the pump. The PowerShot spot soak feature also works fine. The water supply selector switch is in the "Max Clean" position to enable maximum water flow, and I have the hose positioned far below the level of the water tank and carpet cleaner itself (per a tip from Bissell's website).
    My testing reveals at least *some* level of water being pushed by the pump, as the output line flows a solid stream when disconnected from the hose attachment water supply port. I'm also getting water through the port when I depress the spring-loaded plunger seal within it using an unopened ballpoint pen with the unit on.
    Is it possible that the pump is working but is worn/weak and is therefore putting out less than the rated pressure? I thought installing a new pump belt would eliminate that possibility, given the simple impeller design. I know the pump is working, I know the water supply from the carpet cleaner is unrestricted, and I know my hose is not obstructed. Not sure where to turn next!

    • @monroevac
      @monroevac  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Sorry for the delayed response- You did a masterful diagnosis- I recommend replacing the pump- sometimes the issue is so small even the replaced part look identical to the old part. Meaning that there’s no physical defect on the old part but the replacement solved the problem

    • @Devin_Schwartz

      @@monroevac - If I did a good job of troubleshooting, it was thanks to all of the helpful and informative video content you've put out explaining the method of operation and disassembly for the Bissell Pro Heat 2x Revolution! I did take your advice and replaced the pump assembly (pump and hose attachment check valve) as it seemed the only possible cause remaining. Lo and behold, the hose attachment was working with great water pressure once more!
      However, that only lasted for about 10 minutes of detailing a car seat before the water flow again stopped. The PowerClean spot sprayer function is also no longer working. It acts like the new pump somehow failed. Is that even possible? I mean these have such a simple impeller design it seems there's not much that could go wrong. Pump belt is still intact and appears fine. Symptoms exactly match those before. I'm hesitant to simply replace the pump again for fear of there being some type of underlying cause of the failure. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Bud. Good video. Just got done doing my stairs and the thing would not spray. If I stood there long enough squeezing the trigger it eventually worked its way free. Seemed to happen every time I'd stop the machine to deal with one of the tanks. Not sure what the problem is but I flushed the hell out of it before putting it away. Don't know if there's debris in the line, soap scum clogging things up, or a slipping belt. Guess I'll find out next time I use it. Thanks again for the autopsy on the hose. Very useful.

    • @monroevac
      @monroevac  Před 2 lety

      Hi Samantha, if would help if you knew someone with a Bissell revolution. You could first borrow a hose to compare. Using that method as your first step in the process of elimination. I’ve found that in many cases the hose is the problem. Possibly hardened soap in the tube. But you can also check for carpet fiber in the base where the hose plugs into the unit. Also check the side to make sure the water pressure is on max.Beyond that the only place left is taking the unit apart and possibly replacing the pump.

      Hi Rach, have you tried the hose? To possibly eliminate the tank as the main problem; I recommend connecting the hose and spray. If it does spray, then we are looking a clog in the nozzle jets. If it don't spray, try removing the tank and gently pour water in the small reservoir and see if the pump is pulling the water in. If the pump isn't pulling in the water, (providing you are referring to a bissell revolution) then check for your pump belt on the side. Replace if broken. If those tips don't reveal or solve the problem then take it to a shop. Hope that helps

      @@lauravenzke9095 That sounds like a manufacture defect. I finally got it back together yesterday. I struggled as the dog knocked it over and broke a piece. I had to use that plastic glue which seems to hold it near the brushes. I figured I can still use the hose spray attachment and the brushes are working just no water from the trigger.

    Hello, I have a Brissell Revolution pet pro 2x heat. My hose won't spray unless I firmly press down on the connection to the vacuum. I checked for foreign obstructions and they're not any. I've reconnected it several times but it only works with downward pressure. Do you know of a possible solution? P.S. the suction on the hoses does work regardless of downward pressure or not. Thank you!

    • @monroevac
      @monroevac  Před 3 lety

      Sound like you may have hardened solution at the base of the tubing. Hard to diagnose without hands on. You can try putting water and vinegar in the clean water tank and try spraying if there is any hardened solution in the hose, then this may help. The only other way to be absolutely sure is to take the unit apart.

      Ok...try this...use a phillip screwdriver and remove the cap from the end of the hose (where the trigger is located) separate the tubing and turn the unit on to see if the water flow free and strong. If so.. the the problem is possibly a stiff spring below the trigger. Maybe need some form of lubrication. If not then I recommend contacting bissell to find your closest service center and let the warranty process work for you.

      First check the tank (The water release tab at the bottom) make sure water flows when you press. The next steps may require disassembling the unit. I’ll give the short version check the handle trigger make sure it pushing the release ten for the Reservoir. Then check the turbine. Disconnect the tube and try spraying to see if the water flows.
