Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro not sucking up water (solved)

- We had an issue while using our new carpet cleaner. The vacuum was not picking up what we were putting down (obligatory dad joke.) We consulted Bissell on how to troubleshoot loss of suction, and all their steps didn't help. Finally we figured out that the "float" in the dirty water tank got stuck. There was a piece of debris caught in between the wall of the central intake and the "float"
FYI:
On the bottom of the tank there is a gray plastic cap you can turn and take off and you can pull that whole thing out to clean it without using that long gray plastic stick in the pouring out spout.
It’s actually covered in the manual
My😊
It's been a couple months now since I've bought this tablet and it is great. czcams.com/users/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS The tablet is responsive and runs well. There were a few times that the tablet did an awkward thing where it would detect pen on at all times and wouldn't register finger press, but it is usually fixed by closing and opening either the screen or app. This is highly likely due to my excessive use for drawing which caused this and wasn't really very big. As I mostly enjoy using the tablet for drawing (and some light gaming), I would comment from that aspect that there is definitely more accurate pressure and drawing using a PC device and drawing tablet, however i find the moveablity of the tablet more enjoyable to draw on. Like how you can physically rotate and move a piece of paper around or even draw casually on your bed.All in all, as a tablet it is good, and as a drawing device can be good depending on what you want from a drawing device. It is definitely good enough if you just want to use it to take notes. For typing though I can't comment on the keyboard as I did not get the keyboard.
I have the exact same machine. Had problem with suction. Video was really helpful. One on trick: if you want to clean the clear top cover, because it has openings on both ends - you can run water through it, with a hair catcher in the sink and get it REALLY cleaned out of fur & pieces of dirt/gravel.
Just unscrew the bottom and give it a slight turn and the whole assembly comes out, so you can clean it completely. Good vid though!
Hello David unscrew what at the bottom of what and give what a slight turn..i have teied everything and mine is still not sucking up water
Page 14 in the manual goes over the process of removing the float stack. Best to follow the cleaning procedure described in the included manual to prevent any issues in the future

@@jacql1682 have you figured it out? Remove the tank they are referring to. There’s a large screw on the bottom if you remove that, you can take the float out.
@@jimmyvaught Very true. I really wish I would've!
As many have said, THANK YOU, same machine, same issue as everyone, but because of being a man, I wasn't allowed to consult the manual with out fear of arrest and prosecution. Oh the humanity! Now surely life will be a bowl of cherries from hear on out, so thanks for stopping me from throwing my brand new carpet shampooer into the wall.
This is extremely helpful. I’ve never really used one before and was worried I broke it. This makes total sense and a useful feature it provides. Thank you!
Thank you. I forgot all about the cleaning tool. I thought my family member broke it unintentionally. Your video helped me to get it working again.
What a amazing couple to take the time and be motivated to share this. Thank you soo much you lovely couple!!!!!
Thank you! I've taken the machine apart, looked at so many videos, read the manual and this finally worked! We have a new puppy and having the machine work properly is a must. Thank you for sharing!
You are a life saver. That was exactly what was wrong with our machine. Thank You SO MUCH!
So true! I've had that problem from day one a couple years ago! I was too lazy to run it down and was afraid it was a malfunction. Seemed to work about 15 min after being off for days - maybe the debris dried up a little. When I looked into the head and all the places, there was thick matted hair everywhere! So dumb! Now I love this machine even more!
Thanks so much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. After trying all the manufacturing trouble shoots, I was literally ready to tear my Bessel apart to find a clog in the hose or anything. After I cleaned out return tank it worked like a charm . Thank you again. You saved me a few grey hairs.
Thank you so much. You got me pointed in the right direction. I did have to remove the assembly but I wouldn't have gotten that far without your video.
Oh, this was great advice! I couldn't figure out what was "leaking" suction. It was that float stuck.
Your advice was perfect. I cleaned out the intake and it worked perfectly. Thank you
Thank you so much! I thought I was going to have to buy another one... My daughter was (No Mama) something else going on with because we keep it clean after all use's... Thank You so much for sharing this! Blessings to you...❤🙏🏾❤
You inspired us!! Our not so new Bissell is just like new now!! Thank you!!
Thank you. This was just what I needed. My first carpet cleaner and I woukd have not guessed this huge tank had such a small full line. I have a different model, but this very much solved my problem.
You have helped me immensely! My problem was how to snap back on the plastic top (front floor nozzle assembly). I watched you pop that back on by snapping it on from the bottom first, and then the top 1:30. You are a Godsend! I repeatedly tried to pop it on by the nozzle top first and it kept on popping off, so you helped without even knowing it.
Thank you so much!! I did the manual tips with no luck and you helped me in literally under two minutes!
This video was perfect to help trouble shoot the same problem I experienced and it saved me time to find a solution.
You are all awesome!! Thank you for taking the time to make this video to help others!
Thank you so much....you really helped me today! So awesome that you took the time to share with us!
Thank you so much. I can not tell you how helpful this video was to me.
This is perfect - THANK YOU! Saved my life.
You literally just saved me with this video. I just purchased this carpet cleaner and in the middle of me cleaning one of our rugs, the suction just stopped. I nearly took the whole thing apart and nothing would fix it. So of course I turn to CZcams and your video is the first one I clicked on. PROBLEM SOLVED! THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video!! Clear steps and very useful!
Oh my God, thank you so very much. I literally just bought my cleaner like an hour ago and I began to get frustrated because it wasn’t picking up water😢. Your video saved the day 😅
I had the same problem and I was so frustrated, just about to take it in for repair. Many thanks for your video, you saved the day!
I can’t get the assembly to pop out but this is exactly what is wrong with mine. Thank you so much for sharing this and getting right to the point.
THANK YOU!!!!!! When I ran into this problem I had similar thoughts. I really wish this solution was in the manual. Thank You so much for posting this! Happy 4th of July!
Boom! I haven't even gone back to check if this is my issue yet. However, I just know this is my issue. You speak extremely well, straight to all points & super helpful! Thank you!
I got a question can you use just about any chemical in is lady told me to put Pine-Sol in it but I don't know if it will mess it up
Thanks! I had the no sucking thing happen and watched your video. I washed out the dirty water tank and got the float working. Ps...also, I did not have that special tool to clean out the front assembly and made one out of a flexible plastic cutting board, super easy and it works great!!
Cleaning the debris from the intake water tank was the solution to my problem. Thank you and your husband for saving me money.
That is exactly what happened to ours. We have a newer model and you're exactly right-the motor has a higher whine sound indicating that it's full. Great job explaining this.
Underneath the tank there is a grey circle opening that if you keep turning you can pull out the inside. When you’re done cleaning it you can insert it all back, just make sure to line up the arrows pictured 😉
Yep...obviously no-one has time for reading instructions
@@vesturedippedinblood4450 lol
Thank you soo much! This was very helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to show us this.
Wow this was fantastic. Straight to the point and solved the problem.
Outstanding. Thanks. Just had the same problem. Developed a high pitch whine which made me think a belt had busted. It hadn't but it had slipped off the red pulley wheel. Still had a bit of a whine tho and saw the same issue with the dirty tank. It doesn't hold a lot so needs to be emptied often and checked for pet hair, etc. Great vid. Thanks.
Wow, thank you cause I was just having that problem with getting the water to suck up and you solved my problem. Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to do this video! Awesome!!!
Thank you so much! This is what happened to mine today! You’ve been so helpful!! ❤️ Totally works now!
Wow, great video. I just bought one of these today. I'm impressed with how well it works.
OH MY GOSH !!! THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH !!! Just bought it this am and it is unbelievable !!! -- but it wasn't suctioning right until we found your video!!! Best vacuum and Best Shampooer of all times!!! (I have a central vac and it does NOTHING compared to my new bissells !
Oh my, thanks so much for this! Very helpful! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. These types of videos are so helpful.
Thank you so much you solved my problem in 2 minutes! X
Thank you. My new Bissell ProHeat 2 Revolution Pet...worked great yesterday. Cleaned everything (I thought) and no suction. I'll try your recommendation before I call Bissell!
Thank you. Your video helped the problem I was having.
Awesome find! Great job and video explanation!
I put your video to the test....it worked. Thank you.
I can't wait to get home and check mine bc have this same problem and couldn't figure it out. Thank you!
Going through this right now and just bought mine today. Thank you SO much!
Lol had the problem and it's only day 1!! Thank God for this video hope it works
@@Englandq8 It helped us! Hope it helped you too.
it worked flawlessly! Using it heavily now with no issues at all. Unfortunately, the kids are more irresponsible now messing the carpet as they want to see the vacuum working like a magic on the stains 🤣
@@Englandq8 Hahaha! Oh I feel you! My kids are the same 😂🤣😂🤣
Thank you, such a helpful video, exactly our problem & you saved me a lot of time !
Saved me completely! Thank you guys!
Omg this saved me because that was exactly what was wrong! Thank you!
That was so helpful. Work right away. Thank you
your video just solve the exact same problem for me. Works great again.
Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed!
So glad I came across this video. I had the same exact issue.
Thank you for making the video!!
None of the pro vacuum repair guys' videos touched on this. Solved my problem!!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I was having the same problem. However I took the gray ring off the bottom and could clean the float thoroughly!
Thank you! We have a smaller model but your instructions helped!
Thank you for your tips. We have had a Bissell Proheat 2X for 15 years and it works great. Why? Because we clean out the machine in the same manner you do after each use so we have a fresh machine ready to go for the next job. It extends the life of the machine. I appreciate your video! Thanks! Delia Bottoms
That is exactly what I do
Thank you so much and I wish I could've found y'all's video BEFORE my husband took it apart! Lolololololol!
*Now, we're trying to put it back together! Lolololololol! Thanks again and best wishes!
Thank you so very much. Your info was a life saver.
I’m glad I found this. I was about to buy another cleaner. I hope this works for me as nothing else did. 🙁
Thanks guys, was my exact issue! I was so frustrated

Awesome info thanks. I just got one myself and about to try it out right now literally. Test run 😆
Solved my problem! Thank you so much!!!
God bless you for this! I thought my deep cleaner was totally broken and this is such a simple fix!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you for posting this!
Thank you!!!! I needed this video today.
Thumbs upped. I think this is what mine was. Just washed it out and going to give it a try. Thank you.
Sadly it’s still not working. I’m still stuck trying to figure it out. It worked the first time & that was about it. Our carpet is kinda wet but I’m not even sure the waters coming out properly either. 😪
Thank you for the information. I will check all that on my carpet cleaner😁
I got the same problem with mine! Will try today.. thanks for the video!
I am going to go Homw and check this out right now. I hope that’s my only problem. You guys are great!
Your video was helpful. Thank you.🙂
Thank you so much! You saved me so much time.
I just bought my first carpet cleaner and with the very little bit of research I have done the very first thing that came into my mind when you described the problem was that it has something to do with the floater. Its a shame a trained bissell tech could not think to have you check that.
Echoing-great video, solved our problem thx!
Thank youuuu! this help me a lot! same issue... all the fur was obstructing the filter D: after cleaning and setting down is working! great! thanks for sharing! was just about to send back to store!
Thank you so much! I have a Bissell and that was exactly the same thing that happened with mine. It worked!
Great tip...not my particular issue, great FYI! Thanks for making the video.
You’re awesome. Thanks, you saved me a lot of time and trouble!
The part of my tank on the bottom wont snap back into place. It doesn't seem broken. I just cant get it to latch back in. Any tips?
Thank you, that was exactly my problem

Brilliant!! I'm gonna try it now! Thank you
Thank you so much!!!! Very helpful
Nice job troubleshooting this issue.
Thank you!! This was our problem!
Omg you saved me so much money! Thank you
My problem was completely different, but watching your video still helped :) Thank you for the break down of the parts! (The brush cover on mine wasn't on securely) Thank you again!
Thank you! Very helpful!
Great vid guys thanks!
Great video, I found if you fill it up about a quarter way, close it, then shake it up. This also fixes it.
This was helpful. Thanks!
I figured mine out, the solution tank (top) has to be full when you start. worked for me!
Do you mean the top tank should be full when trying to suction up dirty water?
Thank you for posting this video… info will come in handy….
Thank you for sharing! I am having this issue right now!
