Did all those things, have only used this thing two or three times, and now it barely sucks up any of the water sprayed. Still isn't sucking up the water.
Just cleaned my Bissell and I couldn’t get the rollers to brush again so I watched a video and I was able to do it. Thank you so much appreciate it.
How did you do it?
I have the Bissell Pro heat 2x 12 Amp & its totally awesome. I noticed recently there was absolutely no suction & watched many videos & everything was in the proper place but, when I watched this video even though its a different style you showed me where the problem could be. I did not realize there was a filter which was totally clogged with lint. Once I removed the lint I had full suction & now I'm a happy gal.
Thanks, Jannette! Glad the video helped!
thank you for making this video, it fixed the issue!! Perfect.
For me the trick was pushing down the suction cap on the dirty water tank. It has to be super tight. That fixed the issue.
Mine quit working during my first use. I took it to a vacuum repair shop and he had nothing positive to say about Bissell and it still doesn't have suction. $200+ down the drain!
yesterday, i bought and used the bissell revolution hydro steam for the 1st time. 1.5 tanks of clean water/solution down, less than 0.5 inches of water sucked back up. i will try this and update. returning tomorrow if it doesnt work.
Add another member to the "no suction" group. We bought this unit a couple years ago, but only used it a couple times because we have mostly tile floors. Needless to say, it's past the warranty period. Thanks for nothing Bissell!
Buy from Costco ❤
Just unboxed the unit and used it for the very first time, right out of the box…no suction and I’ve tried all the tips as well as tips from others who are having this issue…still no luck!
Same with the one I bought they are sending me a new one hope it works
I got one identical to that it wasn't mean when it acts like it sucks up water but I don't never go in a dirty reservoir it seems like it sucks it up and then it comes right back out from underneath it in the carpet stays wet and plus the second problem with it is exactly like it don't want to spray water out now I think it's from using well water I forgot did you use bottled water and I think the rust is in there is there a way I can unclog it you know clean it out real good I seen that hose on the bottom of it when you turn it upside down but I don't know if that's where it's plugged up or not thinking you
Thank You for your video,it resolved my problem
Not
The red opening under the tank was suctioning good. Next I lifted the attachment flap and placed my palm flat over it, no suction…I looked into the ATTACHMENT PLUG AREA, THIS IS WHERE MY MACHINE WAS CLOGGED. It did not take much to block it. Cleared the plug-in area and all good to go! Worked perfect!
Gotta remember to make sure the rubber plug is firmly pressed in the fill tank. Solved my issue.
Bought an orange one today from bestbuy to replace a 10 year old hoover. It's light and seems to work but is only sucking up about 1/2 the water it puts down. Ran many passes and it won't pull up more unless i push down on the front section.
I have this same problem. After using it the carpet is soaking wet. I did learn that it stops sucking up water when the dirty water tank is about 1/3 to 1/2 full. But ... the carpet is still very wet.
This helped. I used a watercolor paintbrush bc we did not have the nozzle cleanout tool. I will have to see if this tool is sold anywhere.
Glad it helped! The tool can be found online here: www.bissell.com/nozzle-cleaning-tool-for-upright-carpet-cleaners-1606433
Clean it. Especially if you haven't steam cleaned in years and/or have a ton of pets. Clean it after every room and empty the tank often. The bristles, it's not pretty but get under there and unclog stuff, clean the vacuum intake part, use that flexible tool included.
I just bought this 1986 version and I filled it up and the water ran out but none of it was in the dirty water tank and during its use it was leaving rug balls as I was going back and forth
apparently everyone is having suction problems. try this troubleshooting method. take the dirty water tank out and empty it (if full of dirty water) then you can unscrew the bottom and remove the tank guts. clean (with the hose or whatever) and reassemble. the parts inside the dirty tank has a suction turn off float. it is possible to lose suction if dirt inhibits the float from opening up when the dirty water tank is empty.
thanks for this oh so helpful solution! Cleaning the dirty water tank might just be the cure for the suction problem. I've cleaning the tank and will work on a small hall carpet to see if my Proheat will suck up the water!
@@jackieh.8522 Let me know how it goes
@@jackieh.8522 Its my understanding the float tells the carpet cleaner that the dirty water tank is full and to not suck anymore until its emptied. I guess the float inside can get stuck making the cleaner think the xdirty water tank is full.
Tried this and no luck. The suction didn’t work right out of the box upon the very first use.
Had a bissle i loved and i bought this one to replace it because this one has the upholstery attachment, which works well, however this one outs down a lot of water and leaves my carpet wet for like 3 days! I have tried all the troubleshooting and nothing works. Im wondering if anyone had issue with the rubber piece that goes under the upholstery attachment flap. I took mine off because the hose wouldnt connect with it on, now i cant figure out how to get it back on there!
Are you sure your not holding the had squeeze down to much - or, you may have the big green button down which shoots a continuous stream on the side for along walls.
Mine dont have the red filter part where do i buy it at? Any retailers or something. What is the actual name for it as a part to buy. I look under the revolution filter but it took me to different model filters... And mine is green but look the same. Also mine doesnt suction at all. It sprays fine but no suction now my carpet is wet.... Idk what to do?
good luck. Bissell customer service is a joke.
Thanks this did help to resolve the issue. Machine is now sucking water out of carpet.
Excellent! Glad it helped, Monica!
Monica, what did you do to resolve the problem? Mine won't suck up dirty water and I don't even have a pet!
Thanks! This video helped my fix the suction problem I was having.
Thank you! We're glad to hear it helped!
Gotta love the voice fry in her voice. Like how she says "revolution" the first time at :10
How clean brush and cover with brush ??
How do i make it stop from leaking ?
mine did not extract when i first used it either. i did not place the plastic cover on correctly. it looked like it was on as it is very hard to tell. i took it off and placed it on correctly and now i love This machine
Thank you for this comment! I'd tried everything on these tutorials and comments and until I read yours, I realized my plastic cover wasn't fully clicked in (even though it sounded and looked like it was). As soon as I made that adjustment, tons of water sucked up immediately! Thank you!!
Seems like mine is on properly, how do you know? I followed the Bissell video and lined up the notches but who knows if it’s on right or not.
I got my Bissell PowerForce Power brush Pet this year.Used it 2 times and I got the bottom area apart to see where the water is sucking into because I have less than a fourth of the water in the dirty water tank.Puzzling to me.I also have to hold down the clean water tank,as I'm cleaning, so the water will spray out onto my carpet If you have one of these,PLEASE take it back.I love Bissell, but I just need to get a bigger one.I got mine at Walmart.
👩🚒GOOD LUCK GIRL'S 👷♀️
I have had several Bissells over the years and they go down for maintenance about every 6th time you use it. I'm going to have to look into buying a professional carpet machine instead of continuing this madness.
What does this mean "go down for maintenance" exactly? Do you have to clean it, or take it to a repair shop? How long does it take for this maintenance? We're trying to decide whether to buy one or not. Thanks
Mine is hopeless. For the amount of money I spent buying it and the number of times I have been able to use it it would have been cheaper to just pay for the carpets to be professionally cleaned. Its pointless having a water heater as the tank is so small it doesn't get chance to get cold. The clips on the plastic suction part break too easily and then it doesn't suck. The bladder doesn't sit well in the tank and its hard to get it back into the right place. Currently I can only get it to suck if I push the water spray button repeatedly and leave it standing in 1 spot. This machine definitely wasn't worth the money
Hi Sarah - it sounds like you may have a different model than the on in the video. Give us a call and we'd be more htan happy to help with your machine. 1-800-237-7691.
I rarely comment negatively. Bad day I guess. If I hadn’t lost the manual , I wouldn’t have spent all evening on this. My wife finally found the pdf manual. Freakin clean water tank was empty. I must have sneezed when she mentioned it in video. Would have been helpful if Bissell would have replied to our comments with some questions instead of saying “call us”.
Could not figure out how to get it to suction. NO matter what we did, nothing worked. Finally moved the button on the side from Express clean to Deep clean, and it worked 100%, no issues at all after.
Just using this cleaner for the very first time, right out of the box…no suction and a soggy carpet! I tried your suggestion, still no luck. I also checked the float in the dirty water tank and still no luck. Placed a tissue paper to check the suction, tissue paper is being sucked towards the red vent but not sure if it’s supposed to suck in at both vents. Checked the rubber cover in the dirty water tank, that’s closed properly, made sure the cover at the “feet” is attached properly, check…still not working! So frustrating!
Thank you! This worked for me after I exhausted every other possible solution
My dirty water tank cannot collect water, i don't know where the dirty water go, may be back to the carpet. Please advise how to fix this
I wish these were a little simpler in design. There are so many hard to clean places in these things. I literally have maggots living inside of mine and I can't even reach all of them to clean them out.

Mine quit suctioning after only a few uses. Watched u tube videos, chatted to no avail. Can’t find a repair center in my area. Nobody I called wants to bother with it. What’s a good one?
Absolute piece of crap! No suction, I've used it 3 times. I checked ever part of it several times. Gets the carpet nice and wet but still no suction at all. A complete waste of money.

Same here! Now I have a sopping wet hallway. So irritated with this very first use!
Thank you!!!!!
Finally couldn't find anything wrong with it. Took it apart, put it back together and it works.
I'm having trouble fully cleaning my Pro Heat 2x Revolution. Removing the top cover and cleaning it were easy but I don't seem to be able to remove the brush section to clean. My model doesn't have any buttons to push in order to free it and it appears only using a screwdriver will work.
Please met me know how I can disassemble my model to properly clean it.
Thanks.
Unfortunately the video doesn't cover removing the roller brush section. Please reply here with the removal details. Thanks.
Mine is leaking at the bottom. Idk how but the holes at the bottom are leaking behind the brush. puts out more water than it should. Leaves puddles

Bissell Pro Heat Pet sucks, fixed the spraying problem, it worked for a while then it stopped working again, along with the suction going out. If Bissell products were great, they wouldn't break after 2 years. I got to use mine 3 times within 2 years.
Hi supercecil - if you can tell us the model for your cleaner and what exactly has stopped working with it we'd be more than happy to help get it running again!
Having problems with mine picking up.
Same with ours. Our Bissell Pet stopped sucking anything and we've only used it 2-3x since purchase about 2 years ago.

This is the idiot version. This is the equivalent of calling tech support when your internet is out and they ask you first to make sure the unit is plugged in.
Looks like i am having the same problem as everybody else :( Ive only used my bissell 3 times and now it won't suck at all. I've gone through all the troubleshooting.... so dissapointed :(

there is a float turn off in the dirty water tank. sometimes dirt causes the float to stick and stops the suction. you can take the dirty water tank apart and clean it with hose water.
Same! Didn’t even get to three! Didn’t work straight outta the box!
@@UNKNOWN-le2tu Tried this too, still not working
I have one too but my second tank that holds the dirty water will not fill. the suction works just fine.
I have the same problem. I have only used one time after this second tank does not fill. :(
Omg same! Wtf. The first time i used it the dirty tank filled nicely. Now it BARELY fills. Uuuugh.

tried everything nothing works, how do you remove rollers
We have wool carpet and the unit blocked up after 1 tank with wool fluff and is unusable! Probably more to do with the wool carpet than the machine but I didn't hear about this potential problem in all the reviews I read! :(

I have absolutely no dirty water. I don't know what I'm doing wrong
My son bought one just before he deployed while I house sit for him and his dogs to use. It started to give me headaches after owning it for three months. Not very impressed 😣
Thank you SO much. I was having problems with the suction. I have 5 rescued pets. I have the Bissell Revolution PRO HEAT 2X. I watched this video and I just finished cleaning mu upstairs & downstairs carpets. 👩🦰🐈⬛
Does anybody know what the tool is called that she used to clean the clogs out
It comes with the cleaner. It’s a flat piece of plastic.
Junk I have the pet pro version I paid over $300 for it and honestly my husband's shop vac still works better than any Bissell and does it all in one, no need for separate vac and cleaner! 😉 Bissell blows it doesn't suck! 🤣
Hi! I have the Deep Clean Premier Pet Dirt Lifter Cleaning Rows 12. I have a lot of dog hair and it gets caught in the on line cleaning tools for furniture and stairs. It isn't sucking up the water because I have pet hair stuck in the large and small stain tools. I can't seem to get to it? I need help because my new tenant is moving in on the First of September 2017. Any help is welcome. Thanks ahead of time guys.
Thanks for reaching out - to be clear is the hair only suction in the upholstery hose tools or in the front nozzle on the cleaner as well?
The hair is stuck right in the suction part of the larger pet reach tool for furniture and stairs. I filled up my sink with water and sucked all the water out but it just didn't move the hair at all? I have also tried pulling the hair out with something slim and it just doesn't reach it? I can get it all out of the water tank bags no problem. But this time there is a ton of hair in the rollers and everything so I need to take it apart. I found a couple videos that show me how.
Thanks - this quick guide will show you how to the remove the nozzle on your Deep Reach Pet Tool. www.bissell.com/support/helpful-resources/faqs/faq-detail-page?id=e0709a6b-264d-42c6-8975-5e8c2fdc3980&cid=ccsocial2107

My Bissell Proheat 2X revolution doesn't pick up any dirty water either now. Less than 2 years old. What's a possible remedy anyone ?? Help....
I just opened mine and it is not working. Same leaking problem.
I just posted - think I figured out a fix. You have to put a little water in the dirty tank to get the suction to work. Then it works much better!

BISSELL WE ARE ALL SORRY TO HEAR THAT TOO MAYBE IF YOUR COMPANY DID A BETTER JOB AT MANUFACTURING THIS PRODUCT WE WOULD BE COMPLAING.
Yup same issue. And contacting them won't do you any good. They'll try to ask you stupid questions like " are you sure you turned it on" and when they've exhausted all of their unintelligent questions they tell you to take it to a vacuum repair shop in your area because the warranty doesn't cover your issue. Which basically means they don't want to fix their faulty and crappy made product! Spent too much money on 2 different Bissell products for them to break/mess up and them tell you they can't fix it/ it's not covered under the warranty. No more wasting my money on them!
Bring the company back to the US.!!
Let Americans build it and watch the complaints disappear.!!

I was told that this shampooer could suck up water standing in the dishwasher.
❤is this a true fact?
MAKE SURE the button on the right side is up! I did EVERYTHING to help the suction---and here it was just the stupid button (me stupid, not the button!) Pretty sad when you're annoyed with yourself!
This single comment just saved me! I was having the same problem and thought I was at a loss! This fixed it! Thank you!!
There is NO dirty water in the dirty water tank. It's going somewhere - seems to come out the bottom of this machine. Edit to say I just figured something out!!! If you put a little water in the dirty tank before you clean the carpet, the suction is much much better, and the dirty tank actually fills with dirty water! Mine still leaks a little out of the bottom when I do this, but not the entire clean tank leaking out onto the carpet - which is what it was doing. Maybe I don't have to throw this thing out after all!

@@pawegajdek1200 You can't get to the rollers from the top on this model, sadly. Only on the pricier purple one. Good luck ever calling up Bissell support for spare parts like gaskets, belts, hoses or washers and having the phone rep tell you that the parts you're looking for don't exist or won't work with your machine, and that you'll have to RMA the entire appliance back to them to change out a part that costs 75 cents. Unbelievably wasteful amount of needless effort to perform rather simple repairs on these because they literally argue with you on the phone like they think you have a room temperature IQ and didn't put water in the tank.

It's the Bissell Quicksteamer (1970? I think is the "style"), it's upright and a pale green color. It does exactly what it's supposed to: clean carpets. It doesn't pretend to be able to do anything else or be something that it's not. It's light weight, inexpensive and the best part: it actually sprays the carpet or floor with the water and cleaner, and get this-
it sucks the dirty water back up too! No need for acrobatic moves to create pressure in order to help it attempt to do what it says it can to do. It just does it. Like it's magic, or a quality design. It was reliable, easy and to the point every time. Not once did I have to mess around with it or mentally and emotionally prepare myself by thinking positive thoughts or praying that it would miraculously work each time. It just did. Not once did I feel like I was ripped off or made a fool of for trusting what the box it came in said about it. And not once did I have to fight the urge to throw it out my second story window. Hope that helps! 😊
Oh, and Bissell, if you're reading this, I apologize for my initial comment. I guess you guys did make 1 reliable carpet cleaner.
@@2Corinthians5.17 Thanks for the info! Unfortunately it doesn't look like that model is available any longer. My Proheat Pet is still limping along but it doesn't suck up the water as well as it used to. I cleaned it and made sure everything was seated right and it's doing a little better. I will keep my eyes out for that model at yard sales and thrift shops. If it's cheap enough I don't mind buying used and giving it a good cleaning as long as it works.
NOPE. It's none of the things addressed in this video. Because, gentle reader, you've ALREADY checked these things, several times. You've begged. You've pleaded. You've promised your first born to the God of Carpet Cleaning if the thrice-accursed thing will just WORK.
Shall I tell you what the problem REALLY is?
It's that little red trap door in the uptake tank. You know, the one you've forgotten about--the one that flips up when the tank is full and needs to be emptied? Lurking BEHIND that little red door is a filter screen--it is clogged and needs cleaning. Clean that MFer.
As if blessed by unicorns and magic fairies, your lost suction is now restored.
Jacks Henhouse That worked.
Where is this magical red door one speaks of?
I have the proheat 2x. I do see a red filter when I remove the dirty water tank and that is clean. Still zero suction and a wet @$$ hallway!
This is the afore mentioned repair that is probably what is causing 90% of these suction problems! Like Jacks Henhouse says, Clean the flapper valve, Vacuum restored!
Flapper valve? Where? @@Darthdave69
Horrible machine took it for repairs it worked for two minutes and now it’s doing the same thing. Not worth it if you ask me.
Didn't help; calling customer service made it worse.
Sorry to hear the video and calling did not help, Bryan. A service center would be your next option, we have several near you that'd be more than happy to help and will cover any warranty issues on the machine: www.bissell.com/support/product-support/service-centers?zip=92618&distance=10&cid=ccsocial2107
Yeah, calling some lady in the Philippines is a waste of time. Give me somebody with technical knowledge and better English.
My still won't suction. And this video is a joke. I've already cleaned all the removal parts from the front.
There has to be something else that can removed and cleaned in the suction line.
My next step is get another carpet cleaner and it sure as fuck won't be a Bissell.

This Proheat 2x Revolution deep cleaner machine is badly designed. Do not buy one. Most carpets will fluff. It clogs and you cannot easily remove the fluff. It dumps water when full of fluff and so my carpet is ruined. The Proheat 2x Revolution isn't worth the money or even half the price. The parts fit badly. Who on earth designed it? Not a woman that's for sure. Why is it called Proheat? Does it heat the water? I don't think so...
Sorry to hear you feel this way, DB - you are correct as deep cleaning will pull up hair and debris your normal vacuum can miss. If the nozzle becomes clogged, it can be easily removed from the machine and cleaned with water or the included nozzle clean out tool. Hope this helps!
@@bissell you didnt address the heat issue... why is this called a proheat?
These damn machines are a pain in the ass... poorly designed.. there a bitch to replace the large belt..the machine we have is the same one in the video... only a few years old and the damn thing is noisy as hell
these are the worst
Waste of money!
Poor floor head suction, let’s out too much water at once, the brushes don’t lift up, loud, dirty water tank fills up way to fast and when you hold it upright at “full”, it’s like an inch or two filled. Hard to take apart to fix. This is my 4th carpet washer. Hoover makes such better carpet cleaners than this piece of shit. This is a vacuum collector talking FYI. I know what I’m talking about.
Complete waste of time.
sorry Bissell, this shampooer is garbage
This is a terrible machine
