I'm with Chuck, skin comes off of the kiwi 😂
If you eat brown rice, that is grown in California, India, or anywhere, except the southern part of the United States. You’re not going to have much exposure to arsenic . Arsenic got into the ground from killing Bollweevil’s when they planted cotton. The way that rice is grown is they flood the area, put the plant in and there’s a leaching effect in the soil that can get into the product that they’re growing. Any residual arsenic that is still there in the south could be gotten into the rice . This is not an issue anywhere else. If you happen to live closer to the south you may have more exposure to the brown rice that is grown there. Don’t eat that rice and don’t worry about it. 😁💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks. I'm going to check where my rice was grown.
Yes Basmati rice from california india or pakistan has 30% les arsenic in it but its still a fair amount. I also found an article that states if you put basmati rice in boiling water for 5 minutes and drain it that it reduces the amount of arsenic even more by substsntial amount. I think it was over 50% reduced in brown rice and 74% reduced in white rice. I cannot confirm this but if standard white rice starts at 100 scale arsenic content...then basmati white rice is about 70 on the scale...reduce that by 74% then it rests at about 17 on my scale range. So until i confirm all this...i just eat basmati rice from cslifornia india or pakistan once a,week or so using this tecnique :)
We’re eating about 40 + plants according to the way Dr B counts them. Planning well is necessary at first, considering where and when you can buy things, stock your kitchen, etc, but once you develop a routine/habit, it’s pretty easy.
Thank You for having Dr. B on again! As ALWAYS, a wonderfully informative interview! ❤
My plant count seems to easily exceed 30/week with 7 every morning for breakfast alone.
Try eating a golden kiwi with the skin. The skin is much smoother and the fruit sweeter. I always dice kiwi if i am eating the skin and put it on my oatmeal. Won't even notice the skin when you do that.
As a chef, this is great because I love experimenting with new recipes and ingredients.
thank you so much for answering all the questions i have been anxious about for years.. i was always confused but this podcast made everything clear!!!😃😃😃🥰🥰
Thanks Dr B & Chuck. Although I eat 16 types of veggies, nuts, seeds, fruits daily, I still developed IBS-D due to previous radiation enteritis & multiple abdominal surgeries. But I'll still follow a clean diet. Otherwise my health could've been worse.😊
Kiwi is good with skin!
Quarter it and eat it. it's very good.
i agree with chuck. eating the skin of a kiwi is just wrong.
The rat tail discussion had me dying this morning! I was literally laughing out loud in my room!
Thank you
Just started eating my kiwis with the skin on and I love it!!
Bravo HEROS, VOICES FOR THE SILENCED 👏👏👏🌿🌾
I drop artificial sweeteners and replaced it with 100percent organic maple syrup. I love it so much better! Until l started going plantbased, still have my fat free greek yogurt, l didn't realize how addictive sugar can be! I love chef AJ too
I think the casein in dairy is even more addictive than sugar. That's why cheese is so hard to give up when we go vegan.
@cathypaulino2153 l agree , but fortunately l have never acquired a love of cheese
I counted up this weeks whole plant foods and I’ve got 29, mainly fruits and mainly raw, I can make it past 30 tomorrow, but definitely something I’m going to make an effort to make sure I get 30. I think 4 seasons help with the variety over the year.
This information is so helpful.
Variety is great, but I find it’s not always totally realistic for me to eat 30 different plants each week. Our family of four has been eating WFPB for 14 years, and I’ve just started sharing videos on my CZcams channel about how we keep things sustainable for us. For me, simplicity is really key.
What is your CZcams channel? I would like to see what you share.
I understand that consistency is much more important than variety. Also if you eat a abundance of the cruciferous vegetables....particularly in their raw form, you'll get more bang for your buck nutrition wise.
The people in the Blue Zones eat basically the same foods. Eating like a pauper can be beneficial, i.e eating well does not have to be expensive. However, many foods really can be expensive. I guess we need to do the best we can with variety. Salads, soups & stews and stir fries allow us to put a wide variety of vegetables in one recipe.
I find that its easy if i include different herbs and seasonings as part of the 30 food list. I use about 10 different ones currently.
A few different fruits ..berries...and vegetables...mixed beans...rice..oatmeal...quinoa
Im way past 30.....i inagine you may have more variety than you realize.
God bless
My first tankard (about 30 Oz) of weakly brewed coffee each day, 2 tbsp of organic raw cacao powder. Pretty tasty.
Chuck, I'm on your side with the kiwi.
Has anyone here seen the book "Toxic Superfoods" by Sally Norton. She's also doing a lot of CZcams interviews. I'm WFPB, and would love to see this book discussed here. Or maybe see her debate with one of our WFPB experts.
it makes people afraid, I think most are too acidic and unhealthy and those people may react to the oxalates ! many people are fine with spinach, almonds, etc
I have a question for dr B. What does he think about the eggs intolerance (gas)? Should we try? As i understood, i should go slow and low, does it mean half an egg every 2-3 days or every day? What does "slow and low" technically mean? It would be great to learn the details. ❤
Kiwis: I *always* eat kiwis with the peel. I can't figure out why I should not eat it that way.
I've been eating golden kiwis that don't have fur on outside so it's easy to eat the rind.
Fur 😂❤
I’d very much like to hear Dr. B’s opinion about people who say that their gastrointestinal issues have resolved by going to a carnivore diet ☹️😢
Is Candida fungus related to the gut microbiome?
I eat 2 kiwi with skins every day at lunch. But different ppl have different reactions to kiwi, mango, citrus. They don’t bother me and one of the lowest pesticide fruits. I slice it into slices. Helps the palatable level.
I had a rat tail in 1986 🥳🥳🥳
Here's to the 80's!!!
What about a corn tortilla?
Unpeeled Kiwi's taste fine and save so much time.
My question about vitamins to Dr B. Could you talk about multivitamins? When I read the ingredients list of multivitamins, I want to cry. Why they put all those suspicious chemical ingredients which are not well studied yet? Do multivitamins do us any good when they contain all those chemicals like coloring substances (dioxide of titanium, etc.)?
Love Kiwi, no skin though.
Dear, sweet baby Jesus - I have NOT been able to give up the Italian Cream creamer in my coffee. I need to do it, but I love it SO MUCH!!! I would almost rather just give up coffee altogether. 😢
I did psychological tricks on myself when transitioning from SAD to raw vegan. Insane when I think about it.
I don’t like cake but binged on chocolate so when I wanted chocolate i had chocolate cake, 3 week later I’m off chocolate and cake I never have to eat again. Took me 3 year to come off milk, it was so addictive, stopped the cereal now no reason for milk. After that if I have something with milk or cream I have split seconds to get to toilet it literally goes through me, no warning, liquid 💩. So yeah, I’d quit the coffee. I did same to quit butter, no bread or potatoes no need for butter and bread is good to quit so that’s a 2 in 1 win.
Kiwi skin on, I’ll bite into it like an apple no problem 🥝
Put the furry kiwi in a smoothie! If you have a high-powered blender, you won't even notice the difference.
“How many different foods do we need” Dr B and Chuck about 46 minutes in thur July 13.
I vote kiwi with NO skin
I'm a little confused about how much of a food 'counts' towards a count. I admit that I enjoy the numbers game so I keep track and shoot for higher numbers. I've been counting the 21 in Dave's Killer bread. So, how much of a serving 'counts'?
Love his bread. Eat it every day
Maybe some people react to turmeric because it is too much at once.
I used to have skin on kiwi, but now I think life is too short, I spoon the fruit out like a boiled egg - vote no skin
Two. Fatty beef meat and some butter. Maybe time to time a bit veal liver...
Fruit based, fruigvore
Yes, Yes cinnamon, ginger and turmeric are very nice in coffee, plus I top my oats, oat groats and steel cut oats with it. Lucky stop using sugar at the age of 18 thats 50 years ago. Come back to your kiwi eating living in New Zealand we don't consume the skin🤔 I must say if we do it we only eat the golden kiwi thats yellow inside sorry you can't get the yellow one the green one got like thorns on the outside, scope the flesh out spices are not part of the 30 food count😊🥝☕
Question: how much of each do u use per 8oz cup of coffee?
Sorry no skin on kiwi.
Coffee is much better without the sweets.
😅Technical Support:
The Vlog Title needs some fixing.
Extra Spaces, Missing Words?
Kiwi with the skin on in smoothies everyday.
😊
Furry kiwis? Only if the skin is really good for you. Otherwise....the fur...sounds like a no.
I eat meat, butter, eggs and cheese most days of the week and then on the weekend I have some white chocolate and hard cider.
I sometimes may have a standard processed food meal for special occasions but max 15 per year.
I do not think you could even find 30 different plants at the supermarket
Hmmm shop also at ethnic markets they have WIDE VARIETY and often CHEAPER!
Oh Wow! I love Kiwi.... but I've never heard of eating the kiwi whole, with the skin???? Yikes. NOPE! Lol
Skin off!
Come on…..the first 20 minutes of this video is crazy. The doctor clearly says there’s no studies or research on how semi processed and ultra processed foods are recognized by the body BUT, at the same time HE says the corn which is the first ingredient in Doritos, your body won’t recognize 🤔 that’s confusing and ridiculous. I don’t eat Doritos but the first ingredient is corn so your body Will definitely know it’s corn just like it will also recognize the bell pepper powder and onion powder and the garlic powder and the cheese it’s the other junk that’s going to kill you that your body won’t recognize and you should not count as one of the “30” different plants you should consume in a week. This Dr never really has much data to back up his claims. ⏩⏩⏩
Also not stopping to consider an all natural corn chip or even blue corn chip which ingredients are only corn oil and salt. I would NEVER eat a crap nacho or cheeto or pop tart but all three have all natural or organic alternative options to choose as an occasional treat, the same situation with a standard oreo cookie or one from the health food store, or farmers market bakery section
@@venlemo Yes! All things I considered as I wrote my comment…✌🏼
Pretty sure wasn't talking abut chips that are organic corn, salt water, bit of oil, he's pretty clear on JUNK FOOD dorritos...@@venlemo
great and all but who can afford it? esp a single person. how much will end up in the trash b/c you can't buy in small enough quantities to get it all in you in a week?
Cut out all animal products, i did for the last 28 months, you will be amazed how much money suddenly have
@@antoncoetzee9996 yeah, already done that. 2 bucks for 1 avocado where i live.
Valid comment. That is a problem with me. Difficult to not buy too much.
Maybe steam and freeze some stuff like from one week, dehydrate etc. so you have variety esp in winter.
Aren’t these all reruns lately? What happened to Chuck? Has his disease come back?
It's summer, maybe he is on vacation.
I didn't know that haha been sick, what happened? 😮
