    I’m blood type O and am a life long vegetarian. I’ve NEVER had meat. I feel great and am in excellent health. I am very active. I think it’s about you understanding your own body and knowing how foods make you feel/ function. Listen to your body.

    these guys are painting a rosy picture of all the variety available to us newbies. i can't find many ingredients at our local grocery stores and if u can't tolerate beans and/or garlic/onions, it can feel daunting. i'm sticking w/ it for now but it's testing my fortitude lol

    Plant-based protein are the worst protein to consume. That’s why sometimes when you eat a nut, you’ll sometimes see it in your stool undigested. That means your body didn’t use it for anything while on the other hand if you eat a steak your body will take longer to digest because it absorbing all the nutrient.

    great podcast, as someone who suffers from hand eczema this is a great information. I work in healthcare so we have to constantly wash our hands and use alcholol based foam sanitizers or moisturizers. She's not lying or exaggerating about going dairy free especially if you have acne issues I had a lot of mild acne vulgaris and going dairy free worked the best and gave me the best results compared to traditional topical remedies.

    I’ve always been a healthy, active person. I don’t take any medications, I eat the best I can, and I walk at least two miles every day. I also get my routine mammogram every year. In November 2019, I went in for my annual screening. Several days later, my doctor called to tell me they’d found a suspicious area, so I needed to go back for a follow-up mammogram and an ultrasound. After that, a biopsy confirmed that I had breast cancer. When I received my diagnosis, my husband and I decided to get a second opinion.     I love taking "carbophobes" to coronometer and showing them that all those "low-carb" foods (e.g. cabbage, kale, peppers, green beans) are actually approximately 3/4 carbohydrate by dry weight (the solid part, i.e. the veg without all the water).

    I’m in my mid 60s. I took up endurance running as an omnivore, I trained with a guy in his 30s. He adopted a whole food plant based diet. His time to run 100 km dropped by 1.5 hrs to 16 hrs, without extra training. I have since adopted a whole food plant based diet, (no sugar). Sinus congestion gone, tinnitus reduced, muscle and joint soreness gone, energy levels high, improved mood, I can eat as much as I want and I stay slim and toned and feel terrific. Few tips I have learnt that works for me as a WFPB vegan athlete. 1. Have adequate salt but not over the RDI, my running speed drops drastically if I don’t have enough. 2. Eat seaweed daily, this seems to ensure I have a lot of needed micro nutrients and minerals and helps the running. Seems to help recovery too. 3. Eat a variety of fermented veggies daily. Seems to keep the stomach ticking along nicely.

    Wow! MS can strike and then remain dormant for decades. Been there, done that. This guy has not cured his MS. He's just fooled himself into thinking that he has. Trust me. It will come back. That is, if he truly had MS and wasn't misdiagnosed. Diet, exercise, and disease modifying medication are the best tools. But, it isn't a cure.

    I am an identical twin. My brother eats anything he likes where I went carnivore 6 months ago, because of health reasons. And the difference between us is staggering, I would love for him to try vegan for a 6 months and compare our results. He his 5'7 ", 13half stone, im also 5'7 ", and I'm now weighing 10'4.

    Congratulations to Dennis. I like that his doctor told him where he was at. There is little that makes me more mad than not telling patients what is true. Losing 90 kg is quite a feat. That's about 40% more than I currently weigh!

    Taking food to parties and outings is becoming a norm for me and I can relate to people "making fun of it". I am the one that is feeling good and other people say things like "I wish I could eat like that but I am not giving up my cheese and meat". I understand that thinking but I am so happy to not have a "food coma" after a party. I asked a lady about her Diabetes and high blood pressure. She said she notices a differences when she eats Vegetarian a couple of times a week. She doesn't want to do more. It's hard to watch people hurt themselves when the answers are right in front of them. I encouraged her to do what she can . All that to say, I am so thankful for Forks Over Knives. FOK got me started and it's been fun to eat and feel good!
