- Shane Martin is a talented man. Some say the talented musician and kitchen whiz is also a health genius.
Just weeks shy of his 40th birthday he set on an epic health journey in which he ultimately reversed heart disease and diabetes while simultaneously returning high cholesterol and blood pressure to normal levels. Not to mention he also lost a tremendous amount of weight.
This self-described simple southern guy joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll to share his inspiring journey and how his transformation blossomed into a healthy and successful career as the founder of the popular Shane and Simple blog.
At one time Shane believed his poor health would cut short his time with his wife and five children. Now he's looking forward to a long and bright future with the entire family.

I just made whole wheat bread with two ingredients: flour and yeast. I add salt to taste with a shaker. 19 ounces of flour makes basically a 1900 calorie loaf. It's thin and wide, cooked on a cookie tray, and I like it crunchy!
A basic combination of foods meets all nutrition requirements, *including protein and amino acids*: whole wheat bread, kale, carrots, and bananas. I take 2500 mcg of B12 weekly.
Flour is 1500 calories a pound, not a great food for weight loss. It's processed. Whole cooked grains are only 500 calories a pound. Eat left of the red line.
@@jgrysiak6566 I agree that wheat bread is more calorie dense. I find that keeping the total amount per day down on average and increasing less calorie dance foods on those days somewhat. I try to eat two bananas per day and I probably could do it with another fruit while reducing my wheat intake either whole wheat bread or wheat pasta. I don’t feel quite as full, but it is tolerable.
@RiDankulous , I got flour products out & lost 15 more lbs. I was addicted to flour products, it took years to get out. Dry boxed cereal was a big addiction, finally gone after many trys to stop
@@RiDankulous , I eat Ezekiel bread toasted. About 5 slices a week , usually on an opened faced kale sandwich.

I wish there's advice for those on a low fibre diet, because they've had abdominal surgery, and scar tissue or adhesions may pose a risk of intestinal obstruction, so plant based diets have to be avoided. What's there left to eat?

Yes, dudes are the ones dropping with heart attacks & suffering the consequences of Type 2 Diabetes--I have one in my family who just won't change his ways (yet).
