All the whingers on here. Paul Young did just fine with it. He's always had a raspy voice. He's no Freddie but he's not trying to be. it was a good performance and a great tribute.
I was there and almost die...seriously talking... Loss my voice for three days !! Fainting in front of all the Rock Stars and almost 80.000 people, was not funny, but worthy!!! when I opened my eyes and PAUL YOUNG was few steps from me.... I Almost Die that day ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Poor Deaky. It was so hard for him to play knowing that Freddie would never be playing right next to him ever again. It’s such a shame what happened to him after Freddie died.
What I like most about this concert is that every act brought their own unique style to Freddie's songs. We see this in Elton John and Axl Rose singing Bohemian Rhapsody and George Michael with Somebody to Love. No one was trying to be Freddie, they were being theirselves. This is the same with Paul Young, he did his best and he had a great time doing it. It doesn't matter that the song was a bit high for his range; he brought something unique to how he did it.
I Love your comment.. Thank you!, in the name of all the LEGENDS being themselves and just honoring ouf Freddie Mercury with their great voices. "Nobody was trying to be Freddie"..Paul Young did fantastic 🇬🇧🌹😢❤
I get emotional watching this. Look at that audience. I don't care how famous you are, seeing a crowd that size moving together like that probably gave Paul Young chills. Only one person can affect that many people the way he did, and that person was Freddie. This was all for him.
I was there..and got my first high blood pressure crisis!!! almost die because of the excitement, almost a million people I guess! SUPER GOOD!! Paul did it Great!!
I feel very sorry for John Deacon at this point, ever since Freddie Mercury died, he’s been suffering depression, hes heart broken, hurt and been very quiet, on this he did cried whenever I saw his face expression because he was very loyal to Freddie and knew he can’t be replaced, I was very sad and did cried for John Deacon whenever I saw him like this, I’m not afraid to tell people that!!
Freddie would have loved the concert. He would have felt so proud at the likes of Paul Young, Robert Plant, George Michael, Roger Daltrey and Seal coming up on stage and doing a great job of singing so many Queen songs.
3:36 I like how you can see the speed of sound by people in back row clapping a moment later than the front row. Queen is one of the very few bands where the entire audience is fully engaged in the song. Almost every hand is up in the air.
I was just shy of 10 years old when this was broadcast. I recorded it and I still have the VHS tape. I watch over and over and over again. Looking back, this may have been the biggest influence on my musical taste as someone transitioning from a kid into someone more aware of the world around him. It just sucked that it all had to happen after we lost Freddy, but I thank him for it non the less. His body is gone, but all these years later, Freddy is still alive and well inside of all of us.
Reading your comment made me happy. I've watch this show so many times in my younger years and it influenced my music taste forever. So glad i'm not the only one :)
Wow I was just approaching 10 when this was broadcast. I hadn't even heard of Freddie when he died, but by the time this concert took place a few months later, I knew all the songs and was a bona fide fan :)
Wow Paul did a brilliant job on this and my god he’s so good looking! He’s got his own style and he did a great job! Stop comparing guys, imagine how difficult this must have been.
This was an incredible Tribute Concert! and Mr. Handsomeness Paul Young with his extremely good voice, his performance and THE CROWD!! I get so emotional anytime I watch this,,first of all because of Freddie,,,,and mainly because of the amazing Queen´s members with my PAUL!!

it never gets old seeing the crowd doing the double hands claps? It has got to be incredible to be on stage and seeing it firsthand. I so can't wait till August and be apart of the audience.
All the whingers on here. Paul Young did just fine with it. He's always had a raspy voice. He's no Freddie but he's not trying to be. it was a good performance and a great tribute.
This concert was the best tribute in music history, it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel that i could fly .
At the three minute eleven second Mark that's a bundeswher battle flag.

He was so crushed, that he refused to rejoin Queen
72,000 tickets were sold 3 hours after they announced it, and maybe millions or billions people watched it on TV for Freddie tribute concert
I heard it was more than 2.8 billion people that watched around the world
When I saw literally all of the audience clap during the chorus, I cried.
Paul Young's a super cool frontman man!!
He is awesome!!!
Great tribute to Freddie. And Paul Young's soulful voice adds something special to Radio Ga Ga. Love that audience!
The amazing Paul Young
John is so brocken :(
so much memories in johns face ;(
Agreed
The sadness is clearly noticed in John's face. I imagine how difficult this moment was for him...

Paul Young still did a great job singing Radio Ga Ga.
Radio ga ga by Paul Young a lovely song

Nothing says “audience participation” like Queen does.

How can you not have shivers down your spine listening to this. Just amazing.
Awesome job by Paul. Legendary.
I think the performers absolutely loved this show. For the first time they knew what it was like to perform with a very interactive Queen audience.
For six minutes. Paul Young owned this song and the audience.

¡¡¡ UN TRIBUTO INCREÍBLE !!!
GRANDE FREDDIE Y GRANDES LOS ARTISTAS INVITADOS.
¡¡¡ CONMOVEDOR !!!
good job paul!!!
Poor Paul. This song is too high for his range. The crowd did well to help.
That is really the style of Paul Young; he had sufferred from throat problems
Paul never been anywhere close to Freddy, but this is no doubt something else that is wrong.
Its hard to even recognize it as "Paul".
R.i.p. To Paul and Freddie
David Henry Lake Paul is still alive.
Marilyn Antilla Go listen to his version of Calling You if you think he didn’t have the range.
