Jaqen H’gar was likely someone from there who was killed by the faceless men and his face was used by this assassin, either that or this really was his true self which I kind of doubt.
I actually LOVE the character Jaqen H'ghar. Sure, he's an assassin, but he doesn't do it because he's evil. He's actually very devout. "All men must die." He just eases them on their way. And the payment is the sacrifice to the God. He's actually a good man, if you look at his moral code from a slightly less-than-conventional point of view. and that "please?" really helps, too. But when he says, "a girl lacks honor," I can't help but think that he's thinking, "Maybe this girl has what it takes to be one of us, after all. She does not limit herself to conventional views on death and killing."
The bit I like most is that I'm fairly certain THIS is the moment he realises she could be a nameless man. "A girl lacks honour" is not the insult most think. It's an acknowledgment of drive, he realises she'll do whatever it takes. Then again, he says "please" because his honour would mean he WOULD kill himself if she pushed.
I'm not sure it's his honor that would push him. I think it's more his devotion to Death. He's basically a cleric, a priest, and he worships Death. Death demands a sacrifice. He has to pay it. He knows he's going to die, eventually, anyway. And when it's his time, he just hopes he goes easy. If he has to do himself, he'll make it easy. Doesn't mean he WANTS it, though. But then again, doing or giving what you don't want is the nature of sacrifice. I agree, though. He's been sizing her up as one of them, from the beginning. And this is when he decided, "Once we're out of here, I'm giving her a coin. She's got the right stuff."

I never read the books - but my DYSLEXIC older (grown) son did. And he watched the series... But I've enjoyed the shorts, especially the ones who explain the differences between the books & the show. I think Arya has become my favorite character. She is strong, determined, intelligent and unswerving in her quest.
And yet, in the books, Arya is the one who killed them all, with the soup. She still needed his help, but not nearly as much as in the show. By the time she reached the House of Black and White, she had probably a dozen or more notches on her belt.
Awesome! A finished story and a good one at that. Please do more of this, (truly) full stories are more satisfying and interesting than starting one and then finishing half-way without ever touching it again. There’s a lot of manwha out there that have an ending and you could recap those. Thanks a lot!

A lot would have changed, I'm sure. But she would still have been stuck at Harrenhall. Even if Robb won the war, she still would have needed to escape. She was basically a slave, at this point, after all, and whoever was in charge was not going to look at the peasantry and say, "Oh, I'll just set them all free." Serfs weren't free.
This was my FAVORITE PART of GoT. This is where Arya REALLY came thru on her own into her own character. I love how this man kills ALL of the guards and makes them stand up with spikes so they can all escape the prison. This is A FANTASTIC PART OF THE SERIES.
