For years GoT felt like two or three different shows in one. Danerys in the desert, Jon in the snow and Kingslanding. So to see these two together felt like two of my favorite shows doing a crossover.

@@jarret45 Season 6 had it's moments at times, but it was pretty botched. They messed up when they killed off Stannis and his army in season 5, as it's he & his army that brings together the Northern Houses to take out the Boltons in the books (well hinted strongly at in what GRRM has revealed from WoW. Instead they had a chunk of them mutiny in the show, handover Jon's brother to the Boltons, and sent Sansa north way too early and for some reason not tell Jon that the army of House Arryn was on the way.
Then they decided to ruin the Brotherhood without Banners, killed off Barristan Selmy after his actor spoke up about some of their bad changes, make Euron Greyjoy a generic/lame pirate, make the Golden Company into a joke, castrate Jon Snow's character, and turn Jamie Lannister into a whipped man with no backbone after all that character development he had. They didn't even do Clegane Bowl right (Bran's vision saw Jamie & the Hound fighting him in a huge battle).
Should have listened to GRRM and went 10 seasons with 10 episodes each, with a long finale episode for the final 2-3 seasons. Instead, Dave & Dan revealed how much of a hack they both were, pushed out GRRM, and showed how terrible they are writing.
@@JonathanTaylor85 Anything else you need to get out of your system, bro?
People can slam Barristan Selmy all they want for serving Daenerys, but lets admit, he's the reason Daenerys accepted Jon as a guest and later an ally, because he told her about the crimes her father committed, particularly towards Jon's family. His being honest and truthful to Daenerys led her to try and repent for it by allying with Jon.
What people are you taking about? No one opposed his choice to join her.
@@BlackDiamond2718 I mean she was open to him coming to possibly declare his allegiance, she wasn't ready to wipe out the Starks and Baratheons. She was prepared to legitimise Jon as Jon Stark, make him warden of the North, like she did with Gendry. All that was because Selmy opened her eyes.
And by the way, most of the Starks did oppose his choice to join her, especially Sansa and Arya, because of what her father did to Ned's father and brother.

Something I never put together until recently is that this is the first time Tyrion and Davos meet face to face after the Battle of Blackwater Bay where Davos' son Mathos was killed by Tyrion's wildfire. The debate about what we inherit from our ancestors is an old one. For centuries the prevailing thought was you had a right to the world your fathers built and anyone who for any reason challenged that was your enemy.

Aww, I just realized that Davos wanted Dany to know Jon was King, Ike how he did for Stannis when he first met Jon. Wish they got more bonding scenes together.
The face Jon lets Dany talk about his family’s vow to the Targaryens but she immediately stops him the second he brings up her father shows she both fears and hates her connection to him wanting to wipe it away so as not to inconvenience her plans where as Jon simply acknowledges and accepts what his family did in short he let her talk she tries to silence him
And then, she ends becoming her father.
It's amazing when you realize just how right Jon is right when he says "the dead are the enemy." Knowing what the Night King could do with a simple movement of his arms shows that a thousand men, women, and children, and even cripples, could all die on the field of battle, or in the comfort of their homes, and he would just bring them back to keep on fighting like a tidal wave.

You cannot be so meek and easy to manipulate to be a great ruler.
How he allowed Tyrion to manipulate him into killing Dany was beyond pathetic to me.
Also, Dany's descent into madness is partly his fault.
There is a moment where all Dany wanted, and needed, was his love. She had lost two of her dragons for him, she had lost her best friend, and the North had betrayed her despite her sacrificing everything for them.
And all she wanted was for Jon to love her, give himself to her, and herself to him, and Jon couldn't give her that.

Westeros under the Targaryens:
Aegon's conquest, the Dornish Wars, the struggle with the Faith, the BLACKFYRE Rebellions, the Dance of Dragons, Robert's Rebellion, the War of the Nine Penny Kings.
Centuries of peace and prosperity....right.
The only even semblance of peace was while Aegon the Conqueror ruled. The moment he died Maegor the bloody Cruel took over 😳
@@theozlander4629
Not necessarily, their was still conflict between Dorne and the Iron Throne that led to the deaths of Rhaenys and Meraxes.
@@theozlander4629 the reign of Jaehaerys I was more peaceful
Compared to pre-Conquest, it was MUCH more peaceful. You couldn't go a summer without a war between at least two of the kingdoms. After the Conquest, they had the REASONABLE war against the Faith, the Dance, the war against Dorne and ... what, two proper Blackfyre Rebellions?
Westeros before Aegon's Conquest:- Non stop war between Kingdoms. It was more peaceful post Aegon's conquest. They were so many war prisoners the Night's Watch could form an army of 10000 men lol.
What a scene..this is the real mass scene ❤️
At 2:44 Dany: iam the last Targaryen Jon snow..... 😀😀
Le aegon : hold my blood...
It be much more epic if they meet on the field with dany and her dragons and jon with his direwolf and a giant by his side.

Kinda funny to see this after knowing it all
Jon was never recognized as targaryen! He was exiled to the wall being snow. When Daenerys died, the house Tagaryen died next to her!
@@yvonneortiz8595 Jon never wanted to be a Targaryan.
@@yvonneortiz8595 it lives on biologically.
It's interesting that she doesn't consider that her father's actions had already broken the agreement between her house and the Starks.
and how she recognises torrhen stark as the last king in the north, but robb served as king in the north for at least a year. shows how disconnected she is from westeros and the politics that have been at play during her exile, but also highlights how ignorant she is to the northern history, desire for independence, and stark loyalties.
even more ridiculous is that Aegon's right to rule was the right of conquest, just as Robert's rule was by right of conquest. Her "claim" is built on violence, not honor.
Her father? Rickard broke it by plotting treason. Aerys was right in killing traitors.
@@derek96720 The survivors of Aegon's war bent the knee. The Targaryens never accepted Robert's rule as legitimate, and even Robert knew he could never be fully safe as king so long as Targaryens lived.
@@DavidbarZeus1 Robert won the throne by right of conquest and was anointed both by the faith and the citadel. Just like Aegon I won the throne by right of conquest and was anointed both by the faith and the citadel.
Torhen Stark didn't bend the knee cus Aegon would burn him. He bent the knee cus Aegon I could unite the 7 kingdoms to produce enough resources to support the upkeep of the wall and nights watch. They had common cause, it was a bipartite agreement(Until Aerys broke faith).
A few generations later Queen Alysayne flew to the Wall, brought more men, increased land owned by the watch and had a new tower built for extra security.
Dany's grand sire King Aegon V sent many men, his brother Aemon and the former hand Bloodraven to strengthen the wall again.
Starks always sent the brother not in line for the title of king or warden to strengthen the watch.
Love how polite the are
Jon's polite. Daenerys is passive aggressive
This is one of those series that could still be rewatchable because it is just too good. The author really is smart of all of this
3:44 I love this "almost". Even though Tyrion has changed sides and fights against his family now, he's still proud and holds dear his past achievements, especially his great defence of King's Landing.
I really loved this show. Im hoping that the prequel to GOT is gonna be good.
This is the moment that made that for me started to hint that Dany was losing her sanity. I had been worried about her obsession with the Iron Throne since season 1, it had always been there, but I, like everyone else in the audience, was willing to ignore it - I think people who hate season 8's ending missed out on stuff like this just like Tyrion, seeing the signs but thinking it would be okay, that she wouldn't go berserk. I liked the last season, and I'm alright with admitting that.
I think the execution of the storline could have been better, but I do feel like Dany turning tyrant was a natural progression for her character.
@@darth856 This isn’t a tyrant, just someone who thinks the throne is her birthright cause her father ruled.History has been filled with those characters.
@@rouskeycarpel1436 exactly. People don't understand this show at all lol. She wasn't being unreasonable from a quasi-medieval point of view.
@@rouskeycarpel1436 Yeah I agree. Also add that to the fact that she just came from Essos which has a kinda different political climate compared to Westeros. Conquest and intimidation is part of how she has always done it there. I mean Westeros has their own share of wars and conquest but compared to her experience in liberating slaver's bay y'know this is a different methodology all together.
I don't see how this is an actual hint to her descent to madness actually.
Finally someone who also liked season 8! Dany turning mad was a slow development and very well-shown throughout the seasons with small hints. People whining about the writers having done a bad job just didn't understand the whole story at all. Dany had lost too many people she loved by the end of season 8 (Jorah, Missandei) and had gone through too much to stay sane. She didn't belong to Westeros and she realized that soon. The series was famous for being unpredictable, so why have people been wailing about an unforseeable ending which didn't fit their liking? In my opinion, they couldn't have found a better ending than Bran as king.
When he introduces Jon, it makes me laugh everytime I watch.
This is Aegon Targaryen the 6th of his name, the Prince that was promised, FKA (formerly known as) Jon Snow, King of the North, 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, Hero of Hardhome, the Reborn, Leader of the Freefolk, Destroyer of house Bolton, Lover of Aunts, Knower of Nothing, King of the Andals and the First Men, protecter of the Realm. 😂❤

@@ianvera4299 But that isn't the problem. haha That's an excuse for someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Not trying to insult you, I'm just being real. That's a common argument. GOT shouldn't please everyone and I don't think the fans want them too either. What fans want is an ending that makes sense respective to each character story arch. Not a rushed job because D&D were tired of the series and wanted out.
Before replying you should really try to understand why season 7/8 were bad and why a many of people don't like it. You can even YT why it was bad, alternate endings, and fixes to streamline it before spouting off nonsense of "trying to please everyone" because it isn't about that at all.
@@houseofintent That is the problem haha. Oh wow, let me guess you are the type who writes essay as responses in order to sound smart, right? Not trying to insult you, I am just also calling it like I see it. What fans wanted was a mainstream ending to a show based on a niche story. The whole fandom can not even stand behind R+L=J let alone a “good ending”. D&D only planned to do 7 seasons for 7 books( or lack thereof).
Before you reply you should really understand why the bandwagon of hate started in the last season. I am not going to watch a bunch of raging CZcamsrs who monetize their anger over “woke” and “SJW” content on why they think GOT should have truly ended. GOT can not please everyone, I stand by that.
