    Love your Tri-ang wagons and coaches. Love the Jinties too. Great camara work on board the trains. You have a small layout and yet a big one with all the different trains and scenic backdrops you have. Another thing you have and I believe it's huge for model railways and that is imagination. I know it was huge for many years back when I had a model railway. Bill and Janet from California

    Hello Mike, from down-under, NZ. Thank-you for producing a reviting video of these brilliant sounding engines. You're abs right no background music needed as the sound they make is just fantastic as they are. I'm gradually turning my thinking from larger locos, (2-6-4s etc), back to what I had as a kid, namely that same humble little red engine and trusty old Tri-ang black class 08. Can't beat em! Keep up the great work Mike. Thanks very much, Greg

    Very clever and effective filming. I love the low-level shots, and the long goods train was very impressive. Those Jinties (Jintys) were good old stagers.

    What a relaxing start to the morning.They run so well and look brilliant with the period stock. Takes me back a while. thanks for the explanation about that distinctive and familiar smell of carbon, You answered a 60 odd year old question. As a kid I always wondered what it was.

    Watching your Jinty exploits motivated me to service my REALLY old example (with flanges far too large to run on modern track), as well as putting another (with slightly smaller flanges) back into running order by cannibalising a third that was unfortunately beyond salvation.
    I even serviced a friend's MR Crimson-livered example, which was running very poorly.
    Lots of love for this video, Mike: you've put smiles on two East Anglia based modellers with your efforts.

    Excellent footage, I particularly like the shots of the loco overtaking the camera. I love the Jinties...I have 5 of them, including a custom made "Super Slow" shunting version using a 1:120 reduction gearbox....flat out it is as slow as a your green LSWR 735 just starting to move lol

    Jinty, give me your answer do,
    I'm half crazy over the love of you.
    Could you run the DMU in a thunderstorm and pretend his motor has cut out? Surefooted Lydham Manor gets coupled up in front, and gets the passengers to their destination 10 minutes late.

  • @Night_Ferry
    @Night_Ferry Před 12 dny

    Wonderful. I had an M7 that made the same whirring noise as it ran. Rather hypnotic. You could hand a 5 year old a Triang model and not worry about damage within reason. Try that with a modern model! I think I briefly had a jinty at one point? But more recall a black and red American looking thing from Hornby filling in for a S100. I could happily play with that setup for hours. Sorry I mean seriously model for hours... There is a bright yellow 48ds from Hornby available quite reasonably at the moment just begging for a fyffes rebrand. Maybe a future project to shunt your vans? You could probably get away with a label from a banana lol
    Also is it me or are there more trees popping up lately on the layout?

    • @ModelRailwaysUnlimited
      @ModelRailwaysUnlimited  Před 12 dny

      Thanks 👍 I agree with and understand all you said. An S100 eh 😊 I've not seen the 48ds. Well observed about the trees, we've gone back in time from the 80s which explains that.
