Despite the horrific nature of this case, Emma had me chuckling (sitting in a park for 3 days, no one will miss me). Her natural ability to mix pure empathy, sarcasm & professional knowledge of the subject matter is why I keep coming back for more. Absolutely the best crime host/researcher I've come across.

Any parent that wilfully abandons their children because a new partner is jealous.. is a walking red flag!
It’s a terrible situation all round. But the lack of empathy for those children upon the learning their father chose a relationship over them is astounding. Parent abandonment can cause catastrophic abandonment issues in children. As a woman and a mother I can’t even imagine asking, or even wanting someone to do that.

Having babies to fix a broken relationship is the worst thing you can do. Not only will it not help but it puts more stress on that relationship and you wind up terrorizing the childten you already have. I'm not a Bible thumper but there's a damned good reason why you don't covet your neighbor or their belongings. I was so relieved when my ex finaly left, she was most welcome to my sloppy seconds, his abusive ways and his drug and alcohol problems. I've had an amazing quiet simple life without his issues.

Had the pleasure of attending your ‘Serial Killer Next Door’ show at the New Theatre in Cardiff last Sunday. A fascinating and in depth delve into the darkest recesses of humanity. You explore the themes with the seriousness it warrants with warm empathy towards all the poor victims involved. While listening to the subject of serial killers could be oppressive and overwhelming, you have the ability to add some much needed humour and levity whilst remaining respectful. The show was disrupted several times by some rather annoying interjections by some who probably had a bit too much wine and thought it was a Q&A! You dealt with these so gracefully and professionally which deserved a round of applause per se!
Any subscribers who haven’t seen Emma’s show, must go and see one!

It is so so hard to get out of an abusive or toxic relationship, it can take years of heartbreak and healing but they are YEARS of living! My biggest advice is to learn the red flags, teach them to your daughters and sons, normalise not giving second chances for unforgivable behaviour, work on your own self love and self esteem, pass that onto your children. I escaped my own abusive relationship for the sake of my children and myself, it wasn't easy but it can be done. We need to be talking more openly about what coercive control looks like and what we can do to break the cycle. Heartbreaking story, thank you for always giving the victims the voice they deserve xx

Absolutely even more harder that you can be with someone for a year nearly two then they show their true colours, but you feel trapped etc . I used to stand up to my abusive partner and he didn't like it , it was hell and when I told him it's over was horrible, he gave me hell I wasn't myself. Scars you but eventually can move on X I was fine before I met him and I was introduced to him and pressured by his mates to get with him . Then he went and told lies and turned his other mates against me so they badly bullied me I didn't know what was going on didn't understand thank goodness they eventually after years realised it was him

No ones perfect, and I think when people act like victims are perfect it does them and other victims a disservice because it doesn't tell the whole story and when people find out that a victim wasn't perfect they act like they're not deserving of compassion.

Thank you Emma for your sarcasm I just love the way you tell the story. My heart goes out to those babies, and all who loved Samantha. Dominic can rot in jail forever as far as I am concerned. This is a story that is all to familiar to me. I left my abusive husband of 38 years. Leaving him was the hardest thing I have ever done. It has been 5 years now and it has been the best 5 years of my life. I met him when I was 14 and he was 19. I was groomed to think that I deserved the abuse. I tried to leave with my kids so many times and I always went back. The system is set up for the abuser not the abused. The reason that abusers abuse is because they don't have any consequences for the abuse. They have brainwash the victim to the point that we believed that we can't make it on our own. I did leave and so can anyone else.

I have to say, and I'm not at all condoning any form of abuse or killing your partner, but so far I've heard nothing about this girl that makes me think she's that nice.
If we flipped the situation, and it was him that was pursuing her when she's in a relationship with children involved we'd be saying he was horrible. If it was him causing problems with her seeing her children from her previous relationship we'd think it was terrible. If it was him saying she could not see her children at all and he wanted to move mile's away, we'd say he was controlling and trying to isolate her, and if she agreed to it, we'd say he coerced her. It can't be one rule for one and one for another.
A girl with 4 kids who lives on redbull whilst pregnant, I'm not sure qualifies as a great mother.
I'm sorry he killed her. Its terrible. But let's not give her different views because of this. We'd say a man was abusive if he acted how she did

As always, Emma, I truly enjoy your videos. You concentrate on the victim. Which is very heartwarming. You crack me up laughing when you were doing a Conversations. Also some of the comments you make while discussing the crime. I laughed at one Commenter, who said that her flying over his shoulder and landing in the shed, was like a move in cirque de Soleil. I’ve been laughing even typing about it.

Has happened to me with my mother on several occasions...Have basically had therapy all my life, gone to psychologists and psychiatrists both, have even taken medication...nothing worked. Until I realized she purposedly escalates things on a regular basis (probably) to relieve her frustration. Add lovebombing and subtle controlling behaviour, add my own struggles with the consequences of a neonatal meningitis and you have why I sometimes can't hold my temper. Currently working on both finding better escape routes to never reach breaking point and exiting this situation once and for all, but I've got a long and uphill road to go...

Ok, whilst this is completely tragic and two babies are now left without a mum, has anyone thought about the following:
Samantha, she fancies a guy and actually rummages around in her friends handbag and accesses her phone to get the guys number, all without her friends knowledge…. I’m sorry, but what kind of friend does that???
Also, Dominic already had a child with his girlfriend and she was more than happy to break up that family and cheat on her own boyfriend too.
This is not the description of a nice person.
The mother, I am convinced had a crush on Dominic and said he was gorgeous. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder with this chap. He looks rough as houses. She was happy for her daughter to break up a family. Really?
To then be completely jealous and paranoid about fidelity, well, that’s what happens when a relationship starts due to infidelity.
It is truly heartbreaking how her life ended, but it’s the innocent babies that always suffer.

I think one of the reasons these young girls(women) keep having more kids is the "looked after" and "special" attention they get when they're pregnant, giving birth and then have a new born. That wears off pretty quick when the baby is a screeching 3 month old....
