I e got this type. Of drain stopper in my bathroom. The worst part about it is it's prone to catching hair and other gunk and the result is a slow drain that no drain cleaner will fix, because the clog isn't in the trap. I have to take it apart and clean it manually and it's always really gross and slimy. I hate it.

I am having problems with my drain stopper. My lift rod and lift strap seems to be secure together by the clevis screw and it moves the pivot rod. Now here is my problem, when I lift the lift rod,it plugs the hole as it should but when I push down on the lift rod,it does not open up the stopper. When I look down underneath the sink as I push down instead of pushing the strap down it more or less does a side motion. What do I need to do to fix this. Right now the connection between the pivot rod and strap is on the very last bottom hole on the strap. Would moving it up a higher possibly fix the issue?

My drain stopper almost has a filter at the bottom and it gets clogged up after about three or four months and I have to take mine apart. Any tips on that? Have you ever replaced the stopper system?

The stopper has a filter?! What brand do you have? If you don't see one on the stopper, the brand is usually the same one as the faucet.

Expand/Stretch the clip around the lift rod. This will keep it from moving/coming off. I had the same issue, but once I did that it didn’t move.
