  • The Yamaha 200 horsepower outboard is almost 30 years old. IThe saltwater finally corroded a hole through the head and was leaking water into the combustion chamber. The salt waster seized the engine. It was a rust seize and so we were able to free it. We picked up a cheap pair of heads on eBay and now were back in business.

What did you use to remove the head bolts without breaking them? Need to do this but scared to break a bolt due to corrosion

How did you clean up the cylinders. I have a 1990 yamaha pro v 150. Had a similar issue. Seized up. Took the head off and found rust in 2 cylinders. Got the fly wheel freed up but it makes a loud squeek and get kinda hard in one spot while turning the fly wheel with a socket.

Hello I'm working on the same motor do you know what the torque specs are for the head and the head cover. I was told it's two sets of tightening for each but cannot find the exact torque specs. I would appreciate any help thank you

Hi I am thinking to clean my pistons from carbon on my outboard? My question is do I have to put nex gasket after I done or can I use the same one after clean it? Do you also recommend this I mean should i give a good clean up to pistons or leave it like that? Thanks

Thanks for the video! I had the exact same issue on opposing cylinder heads #3 & #4 with low compression 85-90 and water injection LOL through the head dome like yours
Either its from corrosion or bad castings from yamaha ?

Hi. You need a workshop manual to build a 1980 hp 175 V Mercury engine (V6). Would you be so kind as to send it to me? From already thank you very much.
