    At 4:50 it feels like driving a plane is what you wanted to say. Other people drive. Camaro owners fly ha ha
    I bought the 2018 and man do I love this car. It's literally perfection for me appart from visibility which I learned to deal with now.
    But seriously it handles like a dream. After a 10 hours shift, driving back home 40 miles feels like a breeze. Theres really something crazy going on with the power steering: the wheel doesnt shake at all, and with that you add incredibly responsible/predictible brakes, acceleration, steering it feels like driving your favorite video game car... except its in real life and you feel it move.
    It's insane, too bad everyone isnt able to overcome the low visibility. But personally I like it, it feels safer. And it is actually safer than mustang and challenger in case of a crash.
    I'm so happy I bought this car. Every time I get it in I'm happy. And I didnt even talk about how cool and luxurious the interior feels with android auto but its really cool. I hate how many other cars are FILLED with buttons that achieve very little in the end and makes it a pain to do what you need. It's actually the only car that I miss the infotainment when I'm driving in another car.

    Came from a 2014 Mustang GT trackpack, 2015 Mustang GT performance pack, to a 2017 Camaro SS 6 speed about 2 1/2 years ago and have never looked back. While the 5.0 pulls harder up top and above say 120mph, I'm hardly ever there. Having monstrous torque for daily driving, superior manual TR6060, fantastic steering, and stellar chassis, and this is one awesome car! I don't even have issues at the track with the base 1SS 4 piston calipers. I thought the seats in my 15 Mustang GT held me in a little better at the track and it had the 6 piston Brembos. The Mustang interior was a step below in quality and feel.

    Lifelong Mustang guy here. 65 restomod, Two Fox Body GTs, a Terminator, three S197s (GT and 2 Bullitts), and drove several of the latest, including the mighty GT350R. I test drove a 2019 SS 1LE and hands down, it’s a better car-period. The fact that it’s only 40k is icing on the cake. While the GT350R may have a better spec sheet, the 1LE is easier to drive on the track. The power comes on instantly and you don’t have to be Randy Pobst to get a great lap time out of this car. While I might have been faster in the GT350R, I was sweating my ass off to keep it on the road. The GT350R feels like it’s going to launch you into the weeds. The 1LE has me grinning the entire time I’m driving it. I’m still a Mustang fan-kept my Bullitt, but that 1LE is parked next to it in my garage.

      Add the ZL1 1LE solid rear cradle bushings and it feels even better. I added them to mine and it gets get of all the lateral movement from the rear-end. IMO, I feel that is the ONLY weakness of the 1LE in stock form. You put those solid bushings in there and the rear-end just takes a set and stays absolutely still, no mid-corner steering corrections needed. I came from a 16' M3 and the SS 1LE just destroys it in the handling department.

It’s literally the best automatic transmission I’ve ever drove, it’s like it knows what I want to do before I do it. On a back road driving hard, it goes into “competition” mode or whatever it calls it for you, it knows the gear you want when you want it. I would never never ever ever consider buying a FCA or Ford product.
    If I am buying an American vehicle it has always been General Motors iron, especially so when it is equipped with a SBC V8.
    With that stated I like this video for two reasons.
    1. You hammered on this Camaro and it didn't seem to miss a beat.
    2. You and I have very similar driving styles and you focus on the highlights of GM's Alpha platform...chassis stiffness, excellent steering, a big honking V8 with a good manual transmission.
    In my book GM produced an excellent updated BMW M3 with a V8 with the Camaro SS 1LE, it is a legitimate sports car.
    Not a one trick pony knuckle dragger (Challenger way too heavy) nor an all arounder attempting to be pawned off as a sports car/drag stripper/secretary's car/rental car (Mustang way too unfocused).
    No, I want and need a no nonsense, deft handling, naturally aspirated ferocious V8 beast as my conveyance.
    The Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE fits well into my plans, even the more so if the rumors of it getting the Corvette's LT2 engine are true.
    Best of luck to you and your channel.

    Having had mustangs, Im not any model exclusive btw, but if I was this car is responsible for converting... biggest kept secret. On your point, Camaro has always been responding to mustang , it’s so true.. mustang just has loyalty and a following that is like no other really. They have always lagged behind , here it feels like they said , take every vette part and do whatever it takes.... likely why I ended up with one. For those selecting a side , it’s too late, and Camaro sales seem to have proven that. No marketing , nothing to make it known the savage they created other than great reviews from mustang owners lol. I literally hate one thing about this car... the damn electric parking brake, it’s weird, and sketchy. Das it though

      Agreed that if you need four doors for practical reasons keep the Chevy SS. It's a cool car, has a LS3, could be had with magnaride, auto or manual, etc.
      The biggest benefit the GEN6 Camaro SS gives you is Alpha is much better than Zeta. If GM had wanted to make the perfect performance sedan they would of put the SS drivetrain in the ATS-V. In fact other than maybe the new C8 Vette the Alpha chassis is most likely the best chsssis GM has ever made. Very few cars have a chassis as good as the Alpha.

    • @ctyonthehil
      @ctyonthehil Před 4 lety

      @@JROC734 Haha. Well...someone else kind of made the decision for me. My SS was side swiped on the freeway. After several trips in and out of the repair shop after it was initially fixed, I had enough (the shop did not know what they were doing). So traded it in on a 1LE. Still miss the SS. But...this 1LE does wonders to cure the pain.

    • @hairychesticles1
      @hairychesticles1 Před 4 lety

      @SyphonX is that why gm got sued over it and ppl have had numerous issues with stuttering . dont get me wrong the camaro used to be my dream car for a long time but the paddle shifter response and overall feel is slow compared to my challengers zf designed 8 speed. i would tap the paddle and it felt like it didint know what to do with it. im sure it reacted quicker but it felt like almost half a second delay and this was the case with multiple camaros i drove and it honestly cheapened the experience
      i got a much better feel out of the 6 speed in the Chevy ss than the camaro 2ss i test drove. honestly it was a letdown and the transmission made it feel slow. i drove the camaro multiple times and wanted to like it but the 8speed is not very quick compared to others in its class i would much rather own one with the 6speed even if it is slower on paper it feels faster. the chevy ss i drove felt like it was quicker even though the car is 1 second slower to 60 than the 2017 2ss i drove.

    • @hairychesticles1
      @hairychesticles1 Před 4 lety

      @SyphonX im more hyped about the 10 speed and the duel clutch gm is gonna have. the 8speed isnt total dog shit but im just talking about my experience with it from the cars i have test driven and it honestly was the deal breaker for me so yea its bad enough i didnt buy a car that was once my dream car because it had a feature that i would never use in it that i currently use all the time in my car . i do think the transmission is better than what was in the mustang but i would rather own a camaro with the 6 speed preferably the older zl1 or the new one with the 10speed

    • @hairychesticles1
      @hairychesticles1 Před 4 lety

      @SyphonX the newer ones might be programmed better but the 2017 and 2016 i drove were sluggish feeling compared to the scat pack i drove

    • @hairychesticles1
      @hairychesticles1 Před 4 lety

      @Virus world nah it felt faster to me when i compared them tho on paper the scat pack and camaro have around the same 60 times. the scat pack feels smoother and slower at high speeds because its more heavy and has a softer suspension. the camaro felt more bumpy and less planted on regular shitty roads. by all means does the scatpack not feel sluggish. i have driven both a number of times before i made my choice. i recommend you do the same before you call it slow

    • @hairychesticles1
      @hairychesticles1 Před 4 lety

      @Virus world yea its slower on the track but as a car on the road its not slower. as a car i daily drive during all 4 seasons i can say for a fact its not sluggish on the road and with shitty 245s in the fall i have been able to get a 60 time of 4.4 seconds and others have gotten sub 4 seconds with more sticky tires.
      it feels more planted because its less stiff, 400lbs more and does not bounce around on the road as much. in Rhode island we have rly shitty roads so i kinda needed a smoother ride and yea at 135mph its very smooth so it does feel like you are only doing 75mph if you say it feels slow at high speeds.
      im also not talking about track times because realistically who cares about the 1 time you track the car when on the road is where it gets driven the most and even on the track at the end of the day it comes down to how good the driver is. i have seen plenty of videos where a good driver in a not so good car sucks ppl up in there high end porche gt3's and amg cars just because they are better at driving.
      i will say the most common issue is failing wheel speed sensors. that is a big problem with the challenger on any trim and i have had 2 fail at the same time. it honestly should be a recall. the only other problem i have had is the paddle shifter not working properly but i have fixed that by replacing it myself but no matter what you pick it will have its problems. if you wanna brag about how you were 2 seconds quicker on the track then go ahead. if i wanted a track car i would go out and buy an inexpensive Manuel vette and do suspension mods to it
