For some background- This is a defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation stemming from her OpEd published in The Washington Post in 2018. Amber Heard is counter suing for defamation claims based on statements made by Johnny Depp's former lawyer. The trial is taking place in Fairfax, Virginia, the proper venue as The Washington Post is headquartered in said location. Presiding is Judge Penny Azcarate, Johnny Depp is represented by Ben Chew, Camille Vasquez, and more. Amber Heard is represented by Elaine Bredehoft, Ben Rottenborn, and more.

Hello Byters and lovely folks of CZcams. Did you get your fill of witnesses and video depositions on day 19? Enjoy your weekend!
How do we sign up for your membership? Is there a better place to do it?
Hey! I've added a link in the description. It was supposed to be there by default, but something went wrong. Thanks for your support!
The weekend break is needed as next week’s a long one!
I want to hear more about the meat-gown claim made by Amber (pieces of steak wrapped in scraps of fabric from a nightgown gifted by Amber's therapist). Do any other witnesses back up the existence of these oddities?
Could you explain why their time is limited please? I don't understand
I’m not from US, English is my 3rd language, I don’t follow any of the Hollywood drama, and I have no interest in law. Yet, here I am unnaturally obsessed with case and following law channels like these to understand the case. Anyone else in the same boat?
I am from the US and English is my first language BUT I too have no interest in Hollywood drama. However I am OBSESSED with this trial. It’s so fascinating and I can’t get enough of it 🤣
Yeah, greetings from Austria! :)
I am obsessed with the lawyers and other experts on CZcams as much as the case .
First the case and then the explosion of interest by so many people.
This has been a glorious rabbit hole to explore.
Same boat! Exactly the same 🤣
Second language but otherwise exactly the same boat! :)
In Amber’s world:
hitting= not punching
COVERING UP a bruise = MAKING a bruise
pledging = donating
Being insulted = taking a physical beating
bedroom = bathroom
Lying = telling the truth
Yes
Did the ACLU ever get her to actually sign that pledge? She does not like signing pledges, pre nups or post nups.
@@kathrynimhoff344 She hasn’t signed it.
That sums it up very well.
Couch = carpet
It was basically an entire day of witnesses saying Johnny had been using drugs and alcohol “successfully” for decades but his life started falling apart when he met amber. Oh and also that he wasn’t aggressive or violent when he was drunk and/or high. Plus JDs attorney got to call Amber a turd several times.
Excellent summary!
Nice re-cap! 😂
I did enjoy the part when a witness said his drug abuse got worse around the time of the Rum Diary... when he met Amber.
That was by far my favorite part when he repeated that several times. I can't imagine that the jury is going to forget that.
And almost 1 million people tweeted #JusticeForJohnnyDepp should make them wonder why so many people are in his court.
Good points! I knew someone that maintained for many years using drugs and alcohol. He was what I called a "happy" drunk. Never aggressive or violent either. It was his opinion that people used drugs or alcohol as an excuse to be violent.
Johnny withdrawing from everyone while A.H. had all her friends and family living for free in all the suites in the penthouse tells me how A.H. worked her psychological attacks on him in order to isolate him. He was never allowed to leave whether it be to remove himself from a volatile situation or whether he had to go to work or visit with his children. Everything A.H. accused Johnny of appears to be everything she knew she was doing to him.
Totally xx
I feel so bad for him. People say he is a bad guy because of his misuse of substances and because he called her names, eloquently instead of bluntly. Who is honestly innocent of the latter?
Narcissists are very good at projection.
textbook projection
I’ve been in a relationship like this. You end up with your self esteem on the floor and no ability to see any light. My best goes to him, it takes years to recover from damage to that degree.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the second part of Mr. Waldman's testimony, I found that to be the most detrimental part of that day to AH's case, the fact that he points out witnesses and reasons to bolster the claim of it being a hoax and also the fact that he reported perjury by AH to the police seemed pretty important to me.
It was amusing to watch the interplay between Johnny's lawyer saying #AmberTurd and Amber, but I hope no one on the jury found it mean and developed a protective empathy for her.
The @legalbytes panel wasn’t listening to the depo testimonies. Totally checked out. Alyte was focused on catching up with super chats and talking over witnesses, to the point I’m surprised she feels comfortable doing an overview of the day. Generally, I love enjoy this channel, watched the whole trial here but that was disappointing. I couldn’t hear either the panel or the witnesses.
@@Suresurely attorneys are generally good at listening and thinking on their feet. But if it helps, watch without commentary and then watch reviews. I know some people prefer it that way, like my friend.
@@Suresurely there was a lot of inane chatter. I switched to court tv when the actual trial was in session.
@@Suresurely same here. I generally like when Alyte and panel break in with lawyer explanations in quick bursts during the trail, but they were fully talking over the witnesses that day so there was a cacophony of simultaneous voices that was tough for me to take. I switched to TUG stream because TUG doesn't talk at all while testimony is happening in the courtroom.
Non-evidentiary factors that the jury sees all day, every day: Interactions between counsel and clients. Depp team is a smooth, relaxed, warm team. Heard team is tense, non-supportive, and rendered ineffective. They don't seem to like her. Facial expressions of Depp and Heard are very different. As a juror, I would notice.
When a couple of the lawtube guys got into the courtroom for one of the days AH was testifying, they found AH was literally intentionally tripping up her lawyer during direct exam. Sounds like something the jury would definitely pick up on.
agreed - and I would add - AH's team come off as RUDE, incompetent, ineffective and increasing aggressive just like their client - AH also rude, aggressive - playing to the jury - hope they see & notice - the case should be able the facts & just facts - end of the day we're all people
That's a very good point!
Also in addition: the lawyers in the audience said that the jurors visibly shows their dislike for Elaine every time she comes up. That's a bad bad blow for the AH team.
Yes, early on I had the thought that Heard's legal team is an extension of her personality.
I don't think Ms Turds team likes her @ all @ this point. It doesn't seem that she listens to anyone but herself. Im sure they hold her to stick to her story & im sure she argued that she could make it sound better with more horrible lies, like the SA allegations that have never been uttered b4. Just a bad bad client. And a horrible human being
I still think the ending of cross for the # guy was amazing
"Justice is a positive thing, isn't it?
"Yes, big fan of justice "
"Me too. Nothing further. "
MIC DROP CHEF KISS
perfect!!!
You know, he maybe unwittingly managed a double entendre with "Me too."
@@kf10126 oooh I didn't think of that x
Yeah I think this lawyer's effectiveness is being underestimated by lawtubers generally. I like his style a lot.
He did drugs, abused furniture and struggled with inner demons. Things most of us can relate to one way or another. Not a shred of evidence that suggests he laid a hand on anyone. All we have is Amber's word that it happened.
Exactly 💯 and her words are lies.
yeah and we have seen like 20-30 witnesses and nobody ever saw anything
So Johnny is a Furniture Abuser 😂😂😂
It's so redundant that it became annoying, Amber's team kept bringing up the drug abuse and his struggles with inner demons that we already know and the jury also know. It's over for Amber Heard.
And he has been known to write texts like he was Hunter S Thompson and sometimes he hangs out with the “bad boys” yet remains a rather shy & private personality who works diligently at being a musician, a painter, a well versed artist.
It wouldn't surprise me if the jury did check out half way through the day. It was exhausting. We could have skipped the day and it wouldn't have changed anything about the case.
Except that if the jury didn't know by now (truly avoiding everything case related) they now know how much #JusticeforJohnny had been used, that hashtags like #AmberTurd and such exist. AH's team bringing this guy in and opening that up to be discussed was a huge mistake. I cannot fathom anyone allowing this kind of information to come before a jury.
YESSSSSS!!!
They did. If you watch "Law and Lumber" on CZcams he's talking about the jurors and what their reactions was to Amber Heard, and her "witnesses" and it definitely wasn't good for Amber Heard's team! They (the jurors) hated when she was incessantly staring at them and they are moving their chairs facing away from Amber and facing their chairs toward Camille when she was speaking or Elaine when she's speaking. Which the lawyers here on CZcams say isn't a good sign that it seems like the jurors are feeling uncomfortable when Amber is looking at them and only looking at her for a second but they look right back to whichever lawyer that's speaking. Law and Lumber (Rob) & lawyer Runckle said when Amber's team had so many video depositions that the jurors were falling asleep, looked bored, and kept yawning. Rob said that that's not a good sign for Amber Heard's team but good for Johnny's team. Anyways just look it up they explain a lot about how the jurors are reacting to Amber Heard's testimony, and her sides depositions, and her 2 witnesses.
well, it is good thing now that AH has only 8 hours left and JD has 18 hours left. so no skipping the day. it served its purpose. 😀
Get some sleep Lady! And take Mr Bytes out to go tool shopping for an hour. He earned it! Thanks as always for your hard work. Makes my laziness more bearable.
Adam Waldman is brilliant. Why amber wanted him on is crazy. He damned her. He was given the chance to call her out as a liar and it was all a hoax. Also revealing to the jury she could be investigated for perjury. Haha love it
It was try to shore up her counter suit and that if he did not answer they were trying to hide stuff. Ie your guilty if you plead the fifth thinking.
he's a hero, stellar and brilliant, and working pro bono, a good man wanting justice
It would be an epic moment if Kate Moss showed up to testify in person.
Yes! Got scared we wasn’t getting a Day 19 review. Thanks for this, gotta watch now!!
There will be a recap for every day of trial, even if it's a day late on occasion. Things got a bit chaotic for us at the end of the week haha. Hope you enjoy!
@@LegalBytesMedia You are working SO hard. Take your time and thanks for the content.
I am thankful too! Was waiting for this 👍👍 This is the first trial day I couldn't watch live so I'm glad to get the recap ❤️🙂
@@LegalBytesMedia you must be EXHAUSTED - full respect to you & all others who are not only following the FULL day (I can't even manage bits of this - esp with all the time wasted by AH's team..) - also creating content end of that day - not just summary content, analysis as well
I was waiting for it too, now I’m just hoping to for a live too or her jump on other channels ... would love to see her on runkles or robs channel 😃
A Note about Lawyer Michelle Mulroney: Johnny testified that Amber told him the post nup lawyer yelled at her and had made her feel dumb and was really upset about it. Johnny told Amber he'd take care of it... then we get the story he called this lawyer and fired her on Amber's behalf. Adds up that he was laboring under what Amber had told him.
EDIT: I just rewatched Johnny's testimony about this on direct. For those interested, here's a link to that on law&crime:
czcams.com/video/yJYewSkAg7Q/video.html
Watch minutes 36 - 40 for context and start at 43:58 for specifics. (You'll have to write the time stamps down before you click the link). Johnny thought the lawyer was an associate of his lawyer, Jake Bloom.
Great point! I’m glad u caught that!
Yup. More manipulation designed to make Johnny look unhinged and gets rid of the pre-nup/post-nup.
Oops! Big mistake ‼️‼️‼️
She is a vile human
Bet he apologised profusely and compensated her. True gentlemen
I did always find it odd that Johnny suddenly married Amber when he never married the French actress/singer who is the mother of his children. Yes, people can change their minds and stances when in a different relationship, but with his former therapist saying Johnny initially didn’t want to marry Amber sticks out to me. I’ve been thinking as this trial has gone on that Amber enabled his addictions so she could have plausible deniability should he lash out while under the influence. Now I’m questioning if she pressured him into marriage but had an ulterior motive unbeknown to him.
I think she wanted to marry him for the money/houses and so she can have all her friends and family in those penthouses. As she didn't want a prenup ornpostnup it all makes sense it was for the money. Poor JD was too in love to even notice
@@vsn5474 that could be true as well. When he reevaluated his finances after the divorce I believe it came out that he didn’t release he had spent a ton on wine and those numbers magically reduced after the divorce. He really was in love. To me he seems to be the type that when he falls, he falls hard. Plus it’s come out she was love bombing him and that can deeply affect someone who’s never experienced it and is unable to recognize what it true is.
@@leademi1387 yeah, ask Prince Harry 🙃
Good heavens. He is responsible for his own behavior! Enablers all over thevplace making excuses for him. Lol 😆
@@bordendonna I don't consider him an angel but I find it hard to believe no other women especially since the start of this trial and even from the point she filed her tro that no other women have come forward at all, when in most cases like this many come forward.
So basically, after another full day of witnesses that were supposed to support Amber's stories, we are still left with just pictures of Johnny sleeping as her only evidence.
Correct. Amber’s team just wasted their own time
vital evidence - medical reports, Turd failed to produce. why? go figure
At this stage I'm starting to think that not only is AH's team trying to help JD win instead of her, but AH also wants him to win. What a fantastic movie plot. 😄
That would be unethical, but considering Amber is a nightmare client it sure would be tempting. My guess they have stopped trying to talk her out of running her own case and are letting her steer the ship onto the rocks.
Amber not, but Elaine Bredehoft sometimes gives the impression. She grinned when Amber brought up the Kate Moss and the stairs "incident".
@@nilsfrederking62 Amber's team is hoping to get a juror or 2 to look online to see things so they can call for a mistrial and new trial, costing Johnny even more money
Maybe, they think helping JD is a good way to save their professional dignity. AH has overriden it with her horrible behaviour towards them.
Her lawyer “I’m trying I’m trying Elaine “ is a fan of Johnny Depp
I neeeeeed them to bring back the acting coach, play AH on the stand for her, and ask if her “crying” on the stand was indicative of the difficulty crying while acting she referenced in her video deposition 😝😝
Show a film reel blooper of her trying to do a sad scene and compare the clips.
@@hope-cat4894 that would be fire!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
LMAO that would be the biggest burn
I would also love to see that.
Omg imagine that!! Amber would literally burst into flames 😂
You forgot to mention that AH's term shot another own goal by letting Adam Waldman testify that he filed a perjury claim regarding AH with the L.A. Sheriff's Department. After all, he is a lawyer and it would not be plausible that he makes a frivolous claim. He furthermore was able to name a number of witnesses who all contradicted the account of AH and her friends. So overall, AH's team got nothing out of him regarding what they wanted but took quite some damage regarding AH's credibility. Their only chance is that the jury could be confused about the attorney-client privilege and interpret Waldman's refusal to answer as an admission of guilt. One must hope that the jury will receive instructions how Waldman's decision to follow the instructions of his lawyer can and cannot be interpreted.
Not only that but we heard the testimony of some of those witnesses prior to Waldman's pre-recorded statement. So it served as a reminder and confirmation of what everyone had heard before. The timing of this was just ghastly for AH's side.
My impression was that the Depp team has still a lot of things they did collect but did not brig up yet. I suppose they will keep that till Ambers team runs out of time and blast a firework towards the end of the trial. Thanks for your summary and commentary!
Her side has yet to rest their case, and the dumbest thing they could do is run out all their time before rebuttal, but one way or another her turn will end and he can call/recall witnesses.
I'm following this case like an addict. Unfortunately, I fell asleep on Thursday right before Ellen Barkin's testimony. Amber's case thus far is boring. I can't wait for the rebuttal case and the closings. I really hope the jury sees this case like we do. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp
Yeah, those boring deposition videos can do that to a person. I guess Amber's "friends" stopped caring now that there's no Johnny Depp with his penthouses to be leeched off of and don't want to show up.
You didn't miss much, Alicia. Ms. Barkin came across as a very bitter woman with nothing to say that spoke to the heart of this case. If you ask me, and you haven't, she was a complete waste of time and space.
Oh yeah, she just was butthurt. Her correcting the nature of their relationship from "romantic" to "sexual" makes it seem like Depp dumped her rather fast and didn't care that much!
Barkin was a friend with benefits. She was also a notorious wild child at the time.
Barkin contributed nothing to the case except to show her displeasure at having been unceremoniously dumped by J Depp. Knowing that she fleeced her ex husband for $60 million in their divorce settlement also made her look like another A Heard. Her repeated pursing of her lips made her look like she would suck the blood out of you if she didn't like you.
I found LegalBytes during this trial, and I’ve enjoyed learning so much about the US Court System. I look forward to learning more about it through all of LawTube in the future and through future trials. Thank you again for your countless effort, time, hard work, and generosity in putting out this content for us :)
Ya, she does a great job of explaining without wasting time.😇💓
She's great... And then the lawyers that join her are excellent!!
If Amber is claiming that the Op-Ed wasn’t about Johnny, there are a bunch of people now testifying that it was about him and they needed to be careful not to mention him. As you said, they were unsuccessful in hiding it, so here we are. But that destroys one of her defense arguments.
Also, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that just like Camille, the sun was shining so brightly on you that you had to close your drapes. Good light shines are badass female lawyers! 🌞
yes!!! multiple times Camille asked her if this statement in the op ed was about JD & she replied "yes thats correct". case closed!!
She said it was about him
The most damaging part in my eyes was Mr Whitman’s testimony laying out the entire hoax and all the people that saw Amber that week with no bruises! He explained it all in detail and put that in the juror’s minds. Unbelievable 😭🤯🤯
Truly unbelievable. They essentially gave him an opportunity to give a closing argument for JD’s side before the actual closing arguments. I’m not saying Elaine and Rottenborn are incompetent, but as they say - if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck
@@CJAmara My suspicions from watching the trial are that Heard's legal team are trying to sink their own ship at this point. Things like Muffin-gate show the potential that the legal team have been taking Heard at her word and as a result have been getting proverbially bent over in court for the world to see. It's clear they are fed up with trying to do the best for a client who won't help herself.
Other examples include when Heard brings up Kate Moss, all the clips and edits focus on Depp and Chew grinning from ear to ear, but what a lot of people failed to see was Elaine also laughing and grinning; during Heard's redirect, Elaine just gives up like she can't be bothered anymore, though this is largely in part to Ms Vasquez.
There is also an uncorroborated claim that Heard's lawyers were overheard during a break yelling at Heard "well then fire us if you want" or something to that effect. This is not corroborated however it is plausible and believable considering the time it is claimed to happen was after Heards testimony when she stormed out of the court, bearing in mind she also threw her current legal team and previous lawyers under several buses during her testimony - claiming her former legal team leaked things to the press during the divorce instead of it being her, claiming her current legal team has not admitted stuff into evidence she is trying to claim exists. It's very clear her legal team wants out, but at the same time does not want to cause a mistrial at this stage as every person on the planet is now prejudice to the case as a potential juror.
@@alexashton6501 I don’t think they’re trying to sink their own ship. I think that they’re just not off the same calibre as Johnny’s lawyers and more importantly they have an unruly client who is making it difficult for them to do a good job
@@alexashton6501 Ah, the specter of mistrial. Isn't that what happens when at least one juror is staunchly sympathetic to Amber? Say that person is narcisstic too.
@@ChildSpaceMethod a mistrial is when the trial has to be restarted with fresh jurors due to something happening that undermines the integrity of the current trial. The loss of counsel can cause this
Great breakdown, but you missed out that Mr Waldman reported AH for perjury, that he gave the press his own opinion & he gave shout outs to TUG, Laura B & Incredibly Average
Another great recap, thank you. Poor Elaine, she has a terribly bad tempered client and will be blamed for everything. Next week will be a mix of sensationalism, sizzling fireworks, comical theatre, shock and full of ‘oh my goodness!’. JD’s life will get back on track and Disney will come begging. (I do feel some sadness for AH she is her own worst enemy. Both AH and her sister are inveterate liars. Whitney is afraid of her sister and appear’s to try to keep her calm for self preservation. AH is a very troubled and angry woman who had everything, but is walking into a very empty world. I worry for her baby daughter. ). Wouldn’t it make a fantastic blockbuster movie! For gentleman Johnny.
I agree. I kind of feel sorry for Amber. Not that she's obviously lying and she will obviously loose this case but the world wide anger she will get when she looses. I don't under how she thought she could get away with it. Except that it could be that she is thinks everyone is stupid. Duuuh 💩💩💩
They seek and destroy and when begged to get help normally don't. It's sad but fact. No movie should made out of this it should be dealt with and left to rest in peace. Let jd move forward in the help he is already getting and hope ah gets the help she needs. xx
I agree. Amber could have walked away with a tidy sum of money and the clout she gained from being married to Johnny and had a fine career. Her own talent agent said that her Aquaman role should have put her very much in demand but she had to choose chaos and revenge. She did this to herself.
For most of us who have been following the trial day after day full time, no movie can come closer to what we have witnessed. Besides, it has been sad for Johnny having to relive it although I think he can now look back stronger and wiser I hope. And sad for Amber who out of pure greed and meanness didn't see Johnny coming back giving such a fierce fight AND getting the support of millions of people. If Johnny wins it would be a huge step in acknowledging MenToo can be victims of DA.
@@Ifailedeverything Also the counter suing JD. She wouldn't have to testify and get Camille Grilling had she doesn't have to state "HeR DaMaGeS" for justification of countersuing JD... for twice the damage JD gotten from franchise cancellation... after getting A Car, Penthouses, Party Nights, Alcohol and Drugs bonanza, and $7 million for months on end... when a children is present on the scene.
Thank God this is being televised. This is why Johnny fought to get cameras in the courtroom. He wanted us to see what she is really like. He must finally feel satisfied knowing the truth is finally coming to light.
That's her under oath. Not even close to her final form
I immediately thought of Mrs. Maisel too 😭 Mr. Schnell was so interesting as a person, but his testimony left me confused as to why Amber thought his findings would help her.
Haha exactly! I was way more interested in getting to know him than hearing what he had to say about Twitter hashtags 😂
Ron Schnell may be an experienced system level software engineer, it doesn't mean he is qualified to be a data scientist. These are two distinct fields of computer science.
You made my day with this video, so thank you. I was up and ready to watch Day 19 and was so bored that I went to the "Behavior Panel" to amuse me and to save my sanity.
I have been neutral this whole time but I'm firmly in the Depp column because of what I've heard so far and this week. One, the pictures don't match the events she describes and lack of medical records. Two, I felt sorry for Mr. Depp when the ex-friend says everyone wants something from him and his doctor talking about his "devil" or internal struggle. As a healthcare professional, I struggled with the doctor testimony because the last thing any doctor wants to do is feel they have or are harming their patient. Dr/Patient priviledge is a very real thing. Three, the drugs and alcohol abuse has been overplayed. Four, her cross examination with the gaslighting, pledge vs donation, and her unwillingness to answer yes or no questions. Five, hearing perjury and police report from Mr. Waldman.
Exactly!!!
I agree, I had a good impression of her before this trial, as I didn't knew anything about this case. At this point, I don't know how anyone can believe anything that comes from her side. I even respect Johnny more, seeing all the things that happened...
There's so much to make anyone doubt her claims. One of the most obvious things for me is "everyone is lying or wrong but me" what's the tally up to now, 10? 12 people? Cops, docs, nurses, front desk people, lawyers, friends , her own psychologist. I mean come on! I'll give her 1 or 2 that work for Johnny but the amount of folks "lying" is just insane. Not believable at all. All she had to do was admit some responsibility in all of this. Admit her mistakes that are ON RECORD, we all heard them plain as day. Just tell the truth. She sunk her own ship here.
Re-watching Dr. Currie' s testimony, and comparing JD's witnesses to AH witnesses, tells me everything I need to know. I see why I've had Deja Vu, through this whole trial.
Seems like Amber Heards team gave a lot of ammunition to Depp this day. As well as using up a TON of their remaining time. It's going to be interesting interesting see how they handle rebuttals and see if they run out of time.
They will for sure run out of time! 😅
Then her lawyers will whine that they weren't given a fair shake.
yeah the problematic thing is there were just a few witnesses that needed a cross. They can literally try to get their time to 0 and then bring Curry back and its dead for amber, if curry is the last witness before closing i dont know how to recover from it
@@philkovach948 My point exactly the last few days. They’re going to spin this to the media and make it seem like systematic discrimination. Otherwise there is no reason for the endless cross examination nitpicks/retreading and the neutral-at-best witnesses the last couple days.
@@Infiltator2 Dr. Curry, Jennifer Howell or Kevin Murphy. Those would be absolutely devastating witnesses for them to leave on, not to mention if all 3 went back to back with no cross? Game over for AH.

Heards witnesses all look like the Inquisitorial Squad
Harry Potter references will always earn some love from us!
Oh sooo true xx
Thank you! Excellent coverage
I really hope you're right that Johnny's case ends with Kate Moss. I think that would be awesome.
With the lawyer for the post nup that Johnny yelled at.
Johnny told us this story. Amber blamed the whole thing on her lawyer, Johnny believed her and called said lawyer to yell at and fire.
Nothing new came out of that testimony except that Amber never signed it.
He had no right to call the attorney and his mean tone seemed to upset her very much. It shows his temper which is not good for him.
@@lesliekenyon7487 That was the attorney who told Amber Oh yes Johnny knows in a really cruel way when Amber expressed disbelief about the post nup. Unprofessional.
Since AH had made comments about community property & not wanting JD to leave her, it seems she did NOT want a post nuptial. That would put conditions on her exit plan.
@@lesliekenyon7487 True, but Amber had convinced him that she had been mis-treated by the lawyer. In Johnny's direct exam he states remorse for having believed Amber and calling that lawyer... you can watch it.
Also, he had the right to call her, since it seems he arranged for the meeting in the first place.
@@lesliekenyon7487 if him calling an attorney and shouting is what is not good for him and shows he has a temper then Amber recording herself saying she hit Johnny and that she can’t promise she won’t be physically violent must surely show her to be a dangerous dangerous woman capable of inflicting a severe amount of damage. Johnny isn’t an angel but Amber is most definitely a demon
If Amber's team is allowed to bring Ellen Barkin in, a short sexual relationship from 30 years ago, why wasn't Johnny's team allowed to bring in Kate Moss? I thought the reason was they weren't going to use past relationships as evidence.
Amber mentioned Kate Moss in her testimony which opened up the ability to bring in past relationships. You can watch her testimony and you'll see Johnny's lawyer Mr Chew get excited about it.
We have not gotten to the point where his team can call witnesses again. Once team AH rests the trial moves to rebuttal and JD can start calling witnesses. I am personally hoping they end with recalling Dr. Curry to reiterate what BPD looks like, but as examples of AH behavior in court, and that Elaine has long since run out of time to say a word.
@@splendidpursuits8153 maybe Dr. Curry could diagnose Elaine while she's at it... shine some light.😂
I thought the same
You’re not understanding how the court works. It’s AH sides time to serve. Once they’re done, we shall see who Johnny calls to rebut
I like everything you said about Heard's hashtag witness bringing in information that normally, the jury is not supposed to have. But what's more important is that now, the jury knows that a million people outside of the courthouse think Depp is innocent because of the "JusticeforJohnnyDepp" hashtag!
I like how you actually seem to think you’re smarter than the judges and lawyers in this case, seeing as you think the jury “isn’t supposed to have” information from 2013 to 2020 that is relevant to the case. 😂 Those were old hashtags and social media activity, and data analysis takes a lot more effort than what you seem to think, seeing as you think the social media expert was referring to activity that “the jury isn’t allowed to have”. They wouldn’t allow the evidence or witness if what you said was true, but I find it absolutely hilarious that people think someone can collect and analyze data overnight, all while making charts for it, too. 🤣 And he also made the program to do it, I guess he just works super-fast. 🤷🏻♀️
@@TheBLGL You must not have been paying attention to the judge at the beginning of each break and the end of each day. She specifically tells them not to do any Internet research regarding anything about this case...so the defense introducing INTERNET hashtags to the jury made no sense
what a stupid ass defense team. lmao
Really glad to have discovered you all. Like many others, a DV survivor who had zero opinion on this case three weeks ago. There was just so much stuff suddenly on Twitter and CZcams that I figured I had better find out what was going on and eight hours of a deep dive later, I was firmly in JD's camp, for all the reasons so many others have already said. I find it fascinating to hear opinions from your varied panel and, while I end up having to listen to it about four hours after you have started (I work after all!), it helps to realize that I am not the only one who finds this absolutely ridiculous!
I think most DV survivors who have taken the time to do what you have done have come up with a similar conclusions to you. Amber Heard is making a mockery of #MeToo and the tragedy that DV survivors survive through. It’s appalling.
Agreed, did the same. I didn't know anything when the case started, was a dv from childhood, cannot stomach amberturd. Nothing short of a lying hoax. 6 yrs of practicing her lies has only made it more obnoxious. Firmly JD. So are all my family and friends.
The more Heard's team demonstrates Johnny's tendency to use creative language, the less power words like "monster" have. They are shooting themselves in the foot.
They think no one has ever used the term "inner demons" when referring to personal struggles. 😒
Monster usually refers to addiction.
I have to say, I feel very uncomfortable watching the video of Johnny smashing things and slamming cupboards. Maybe I'm soft, but if a guy I was seeing did even a bit of that once, I'd be out of that relationship. He definitely has major problems, and I don't understand why everyone else seems to be okay with this.
She doesnt even know the difference between donation and pledge, how can you believe anything she says?
@@lvega5606 I'm personally wary of people who punch walls in anger; too jumpy for all the banging and shouting. It's not so much that it's ok to do, but more that it's not technically a sign of physical abuse towards Amber herself. In some audios, Amber admits to throwing things around too, so it seems to be a dynamic in their relationship just like the cursing each other out and not solely Johnny being the bad guy.
I’m addicted to watching your videos on this it’s insane. You’re so good at explaining it all!!
My over-arching theory of their relationship:
First, I think they are both hiding the fact that they cheated on their partners to be with each other. Neither is helped by this information, so no one will admit it, and it ultimately doesn't matter, but I have a pretty firm suspicion.
More importantly, Amber did drugs to party, and Johnny does drugs to escape. So, Amber got access to all the coke and expensive wine she wanted, but I bet Johnny isn't actually super fun when he crosses from "normal" high/drunk to "very" high/drunk. Not even violent, per se, just not a great bunch of fun for a party. So, Amber didn't want to quit her own fun, but she didn't want Johnny to do what he wanted anymore. And thus begins the worst of their conflict, because at the end of the day, Amber is a very controlling and demanding person, and she seems to twist things she dislikes into personal slights against her. Personally feeling "disrespected", primarily by Johnny not being able to just stop doing the substances that have covered his own traumas for his entire life. Amber can't handle not getting her way, and she can't understand that another person's struggle isn't an attack on her, so she goes from annoying about it to frustrated to angry and she increasingly takes out that anger on him. The whole time, she is still unwilling to address her own substance use, leaving Johnny in a very dark place where only he is expected to be sober in a group of people who are anything but. This also explains why, at random, Amber stops caring about Johnny drinking. Multiple times on the stand she said he was clean and great, but then backtracks to say he was drinking wine, but it wasn't a problem. It's a problem when she perceives it as a problem, and then it's all Johnny's fault for his own "failure". She feels disrespected while also having no respect for him. That dehumanization increases her willingness to engage in demeaning actions, like hitting him and sending embarrassing photos of him to her friends. By then, he's in pretty deep emotionally and psychologically, and feels like he's the one messing up, so he doesn't want to "fail" at the relationship by leaving her.
You also need to remember that they use prescribed meds for recreational purposes.
This is all quite understandable. And probably correct. This is what Unreconcilable Differences is all about.
Unfortunately her (to my mind, outrageous) slander of the guy carries no justification.
I’ll make it simpler..
I’m pretty positive that she had wanted him to die of overdose/alcohol abuse
Finding out no prenup was signed before they married only makes me believe this theory more!!
Johnny was too resilient an isn’t it odd how after only a month she files for divorce and her restraining order after finding out she’s not in his will
@@kathrynimhoff344 Yes! She, in particular, was under a strange brew of psych meds with wine/stimulants/and or hallucinogens during many of these events. Maybe I’ve missed it, but did anyone bring up how this could impact perception and memory? Johnny was on multiple substances on and off, too, but they mostly seemed to make him pass out after a loud/object-throwing (tossing!) outburst.
Thank you for noting the different reasons they used. To me, it’s important.
I check whats going on with this case every couple of hours, I'm starting to feel crazy now!! Mesmerised in Australia!
Same here in New England.
I hope JD’s lawyers explain attorney/client privilege is so they understand how it doesn’t support the claim
Another excellent video. I'm a lawyer sitting home bored recovering from surgery, and it looks like every lawyer on CZcams has been covering this trial. Watching all of the other lawyers' videos, none of them appear capable of withholding their contempt for Amber Heard, and their analyses suffer from it. Alyte comes across as the only one offering a balanced analysis.
It was a great day of testimony for Johnny!
Jurors got to hear a reputable lawyer say he believed Amber committed perjury and reported her to law enforcement! So the jury hear “perjury” Amber Heard, “perjury” & Amber Heard!
The genius witness repeatedly mentioned #justicefor Johnny and #amberturd etc
Got the witness to say he is a fan of justice right after Johnny’s attorney states #justiceforjohnny 😊
Thank you for your great legal analysis!
You need to re-watch the last 10 to 15mins of Adam Waldmans testimony. I think you were reading superchats and missed what he said but basically he killed her counter claim and brought up a load of witnesses that sink her case and confirmed the LA County Sheriffs office were investigating her and Rocky for Purjury!!
Best witness of the trial !
I love that we can hear from law experts and lawyers like her to understand the case more deeply. Thank you for this contet, I refresh nearly hourly on this channel and Spideys
Love you and your recaps!
But I hope to God jurors ask themselves why, never once, did they hear a recording of Amber telling Johnny that he has to stop beating her!
Seriously, if he was beating her don’t you think this would be the main topic of their recorded arguments?
Instead all we heard was Johnny trying to runaway from her!
Because then she would have recorded him saying, "Are you daft woman, you are the one beating me!!!" And he would have soon called psychologists and had her committed.
What I don't understand is if Amber and her friends, family, etc. thought that Johnny was beating her when he was intoxicated or high, why were they always drinking and drugging with him? I have been afraid of someone's temper and I can't imagine ever encouraging that behaviour. Amber wasn't scared of Johnny at all, she was just manipulating him and so were her friends.
@@lesiaoneill8569 And why is there NO evidence of texts, calls etc of anyone telling her to leave him, that he was dangerous, that she was being abused and needed help etc??? Because unless I missed something those would be VERY BAD FRIENDS to not be begging her to leave!
I stood up in court once for a good friend who had been abused and then stalked by her ex (despite a restraining order) and as soon as I'd learned he was hurting her I was like OH HELL NO and told her she needed to leave. He even tried to get me in trouble for something I'd done once (in my 20s I made some dumb choices) but even knowing he knew about that I was adamant about protecting my friend.
So she either was NOT in any danger or they didn't care because of all the grifting off of JD. 😢😡
I just found you and immediately liked and subscribed for everything- could not get enough of you! Totally in love ❤️ with your CLEAR thinking and absolute mastery of the trade. WOW! You are a Goddess!!! Learned so much and agree with your keen observations 100%.
Oh Thank you! You take us step-by-step thru all legal moves, legaleze, (and real or potential shenanigans!) so clear and well-- I leave feeling like I really understand what's going on. Thanks SO much!
Damn I got hooked on those recap videos, and when this one wasn't released earlier I had withdraw symptoms 😂😂 Keep it up 🔥
One more thing: I love your dog. He's so cute. He's sitting behind you all relaxed and all. And as soon as you start talking he looks at you and then the camera from the conner of his eye. I wonder what's he thinking. Maybe something like "oh this again! Geez mom, I thought it was belly rub time"
That made me smile, thank you ☺️
These recaps are so well done, I watch your livestream and comments but I don’t get even half of what you round out with these beautiful summaries. You are a very articulate and intelligent lawyer.
Hi this is a wonderful breakdown of the day. I am in Australia and I am totally fascinated on the law works in the US and listening to the different lawyers is totally fascinating to me I really admire this side of the case keep up the great work let’s hope justice will prevail
Get some rest missy... And thx for your continued coverage of this landmark case. Blessings from Scotland 🙏
Beside being a perfect RECAP of the day 19 trial i have to highlight the fact that Alina perfectly pronounced the word "Wunderkind" and Mr. Schnell name ! Absolute perfection !
I, personally, liked Day 19 way more than Day 18. Day 19 was like a continuous comedy of errors.
Day 18…how was that a good day for Amber? It was just a big bunch of frustration, filled with freeloading witnesses who all had such inconsistent stories/testimonies…esp when compared to police depos and body-cam footage…I don’t see how anybody could believe them.
Day 19 was comedic genius for the viewer. Horrible for ah, but hilarious for us. Why would they bring the court of public opinion into a court of law? Insane.
Day 18 was a good day for Amber.... _comparatively._
She’s been doing so poorly, that a day that is just ‘ehh...’ is pretty good for her
We need to see a "Kate Moss no cross" as Ian Runkle came up with
I'm so glad to see this video. One, it's telling that AH's team is squandering their time on useless witnesses. It's almost as telling as the fact that her evidence to support her EPIC claims has simply failed to turn up. This feels like a deja vu of "weapons of mass destruction."
Two, I was really anticipating your video because it's the most concise and insightful recap available. So glad you're walking us through this ordeal. Thanks!
Thank you so much for keeping us updated!
Thank you so much for such a succinct and down-to-earth analysis of what is going on here....it was all fascinating and especially the end, about the time limits allocated to each side.
You are doing such a brilliant job, Alyte!
I would like to see a psychological profile of Elaine. She seems incapable of moving on or adapting to a new strategy after her goal is blocked. Thus that eats up a lot of her time.
My understanding is she not experienced in defamation cases, but is more practiced in corporate or civil rights law. So she may just not be used to the high profile, or very murky he-said-she-said type of case this is. She seems like the type that would be very good at wearing down some particular point of law or legal theory in a more structured case dealing with something that had more of a paper trail or smaller more focused incident.
Thanks a lot for you reporting on this case! 🙏
Thank you so much for those daily recaps and explanations, it's really helpful and instructive!
I am in awe! I haven't yet finished watching week 5 catch-up and there's already detailed recap of day 19! Great work on live streams and new videos! Also I think there will be so much new stuff to disect next week and I am here for it!
They should ask for an investigation to the Londen trail cause the judge was biased
I misses that whole trial. How was the judge biased? And can you attach some of the video to me, if you are able and want too. It would take hours to find it. If not, no worries

If Amber's team runs out of time and they won't be able to cross-examine Kate Moss, Jennifer Howell and Dr. Curry, they are absolutely DONE. Please, please, please let that happen.
Does anyone know if each team’s remaining total allocated time includes their closing argument? I was thinking each team did not have to use their allotted time for their closing.
@@BizzyGigi it does not include their closing time.
@@jessicaalbright7429 Thanks
@@jessicaalbright7429 Thanks, Jessica. If AH’s team runs out of time and JD’s team brings in a last minute witness that AH’s team cannot cross, then AH’s closing argument is the only way her attorneys can address that witness’s new testimony. This trial is turning out to be more like a chess match.
Honestly, even if they _do_ have time to cross-examine, I still don't think it'll make a difference to the case. Other than Elaine embarrassing herself some more.
TY, Alyte! Do you think JD’s team will bring in medical experts to address the kinds of injuries that AH allegedly sustained?
ThankYou - routinely one the best recappers. Clear concise and informative.
The most significant thing I took from AH’s attorney’s testimony was that the OP Ed was truly about JD, whether he was named or not.
@@65cj55 Are you talking to me? That issue did not involve AH’s atty, who green-lighted the OP ED.
@@65cj55 Clearly we’re talking about different witnesses, and you’re missing the import of a contested element of defamation. Are you an attorney?
@@65cj55 The defamation does not have to be the sole cause of lost income. In fact, for defamation per se, there is no need to prove any damages at all. Amber will have a much more difficult time proving damages in her case against him. This will be an interesting week. As for the conscience, I’m betting you don’t know any attorneys.
I'm addicted to this case and Legal Bytes gives best reviews. I watched Jonny testimony without blinking my eyes but Amber's so boring 😴.

No question this is the best recap video of proceedings, just wish I had found it a few weeks ago. Thank you 😊
Thank you for this thoughtful analysis!! And for not just talking over videos of the case ❤️
I would've been suspicious on waldman's testimony if the privedge objections only came up a few times for critical questions, but since it was almost every question, i quickly realized it's like you said and i'm not versed in legal matters, so I firmly believe the jurors would pretty much realize this as well.
I think it's like a gamble to bring mr waldman as a witness. Some juror may find it unsettling as he wanted to hide something and protect his ex-client, but thanks to him the juror knew about AH's perjury allegation. She did this before so she could do it again in this trial
Tactically would it be worth 15 minutes to ask Amber's attorneys questions, make them invoke attorney-client privilege 20 times, and move on?
With how much time they have left verses Turd’s side- I would think it would show a lot! Not a bad idea but likely low on the priority list for them.
Leaving a comment to get lost in the thousands already posted just to say THANK YOU Alyte, your summaries are amazing & I value your channel so much!
Thanks for all your hard work on this trial coverage!
Me watching the trial and yelling “ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE” and throwing popcorn at the screen.
I watch everyone on Lawtube but your recaps are my favourite, i have to say. You have such a great way to summarise it all and a soothing voice. Always looking forward to your videos. Greetings from Istanbul 🙋♀️
I’ve been enjoying your livestreams. They have been a great help getting through some of the dull parts. Lol. I sympathize for the jurors that don’t have the benefit of your cometary to keep them alert. At this point all the jury are longing for get back to their own lives. If I were a juror I would be resentful of AH’s team for wasting my time.
Thank you for the summary. I fell asleep twice during it so needed this!
I hate how the mainstream media labels you a " far right extremist" and a "bot" if you support Depp. I'm not a bot, or a far-right extremist, but a 50-year-old woman with a lot of life experience. Also, I know the difference between "pledge" & "donate".
This has nothing to do w/politics, but with my common sense!
I'm to the left of Bernie Sanders and I support Depp. The mainstream media is a pile of bullshit and should be turned off by everybody!
Amen!!
I'm a 46 old German living in Greece and during this trial have come to the conclusion that Mr Depp is a victim of domestic abuse by his former wife. I'm also a feminist. Whoever wants to label me as whatsoever can label me, I know that just because someone is a man that doesn't mean he can't be abused by a woman.
exactly. It's a common sense also as WHY Amber failed to produce Medical Reports. she lied!!!!! The abuse? Never happen.
It's interesting to get the strict lawyer angle on what is going on. It would be pretty good if there is someone with that kind of insight amongst the jury, considering how I regarded the Waldman questioning before getting a better understanding of the attorney-client privilege.
The main reason for me to follow the case is psychological and from that perspective AH has lost by miles and miles. The way the witnesses produced by Ah's team more so corroborates the presentation of evidence from the other side is close to being absurdly comical.
But as defamation can be so very hard to prove I wonder what the outcome will be?
Great video!! & “Pasta, meet wall” is probably one of the best titles I’ve ever heard for a video on this dumpster fire of a trial
Love how your assessment is very clear and directed! Learned a lot. Thank you!
Elaine is like the dollar tree version of Saul goodman. Trying to be sleezy by handing out double negatives just so Waldman can spill the beans on Johnny lol. It probably would have worked if the person you’re questioning wasn’t an ATTORNEY!! Lol…. I’m certain Amber is going to play the “my council did not give me proper representation” she wants a retrial….
As an observer from New Zealand, I have found this case fascinating and your analysis on this channel has been riveting. However, I come from a jurisdiction where legal proceedings would never be broadcast and analysed to this extent in real time (so called sub-judice). I do wonder whether this intense dissemination and discussion of proceedings undermines the chances of a fair trial ever taking place. It would be very hard for jury members to remain untouched by all the talk and the pro-Johnny anti-Amber social media commentary.
I think JD's team pushed for the case to be televised as they knew he wouldn't get fair representation in the media. It's a contingency plan, even if he loses, he's managed to get his side of the story out.
I loved how you explained everything in a way that it made sense at the most basic level. Thank you so much 💜
Thankyou for being so condensed…I’ve been adamant in my exploration of this case. However…you are right…it’s tedious at times at best..thanks for giving fast, accurate info! I feel better in my knowledge of this case! Aloha from Maui!
One of the things the accountant said was that JD was paying Jerry Judge 1 mil per year, but wasn't he paying all the other security staff?
Maybe Jerry has to do all the coke buys?
@@davidgoodnow269 lol, more likely Marilyn Manson....he's the designated boogie man.
Then, I thought about guys I knew who did security gigs in Iraq. $600-800/hour adds up quick.
JD paid Judge and Judge paid additional security. That is why the current head of security clarified that Johnny had only been paying him a few years but he had worked for Depp via Judge for much longer.
Never mind spaghetti, AH’s team out here throwing uncooked penne at the wall and hoping it will stick!
Thank you very informative and non biased, wish I had found you from the start.
I always look forward to your recaps. You make it all very understandable and also verify conclusions I've come to so far. Thank you.
Q: Can you please explain why this has been ignored throughout the entire trial so far: AH lawyer’s letter of blackmail demanding 3 of JD’s 5 penthouses plus a monthly allowance of $50K (including vacation expenses) plus his car, or she’d go public like she did with the temporary restraining order (after he didn’t sign the agreement)? Isn’t this absolutely crucial in this case? Didn’t AH’s gang stage the DV call to 911 in order to justify the TRO, and isn’t the TRO defamatory?
Exactly! It was covered somewhat in Laura Wasser's testimony on day 10, but I hope they reiterate this. Also shows a strong incentive for Josh Drew and Rocky Pennington to assist AH, because she was securing their penthouse on JD's dime in the demand letter. It's too late to pursue defamation for this though, statute is 1 year I believe. So he can only pursue defamation in relation to the op-ed, but he can show the TRO was part of a hoax to extort a more favourable divorce settlement.
it's inadmissible unless the defense brings it up. it was approached vaguely by the plaintiff but they moved away from it because there would be serious problems if they went into it without permission.
I was wondering that too, there's still time for it to come in somehow. Camille made a point to highlight her "not wanting anything" she really hammered that with the donation questions so, I guess we will have to wait and see if it can make it in. Possibly on rebuttal. 🤞🤞 That would absolutely DESTROY Heards case though. That's a mic drop moment 😅
"it was never about the money" - Amber Heard, not-a-crazy-gold-digger
