- Rotator cuff muscles are deep in the shoulder, under the deltoid muscles.
Because the deltoid muscles cover the shoulder joint, many people (even healthcare professionals) reason that doing deltoid strengthening exercises will help the rotator cuff injury.
But there are problems with this thinking. AND it may seriously worsen a rotator cuff tear.
If you think you have a torn rotator cuff, and you're wondering about doing deltoid exercises then you need to hear about the ideas from here.
In this video, Dr. David answers the question, "Should you strengthen your deltoids to help heal a torn rotator cuff tendon?"

I just found your awesome channel because I was searching for what to do about my messed up shoulder. I watched your "three worst/three best" video, and lo, I am guilty of doing the three worst!!
A question, since I am an older female who wants a straight strong back, what exercises should I be doing if rows are no longer an option?
I'm so happy to have found you!! I have to catch up on all of your videos now! Thank you!!
You're the best, love this. Will give this a try.
Hey Anthony, thanks so much for the kind words! Please, let us know how it works out for you. If you feel like it made a difference check out our rotator cuff tear playlist: "Rotator Cuff Tear Help"

How about doing wall pushups or push ups on your knees?
Thanks for this. Would the trap exercise here be appropriate for rotator cuff impingement ?
Hi Bonnie, yes it could help as well.
How about Pat pull downs? Would that be okay?
How about posterior deltoid exercises? Shouldn't that pull the shoulder joint back and into the joint?
Are deltoids exercises bad for my rotator cuff even if i don’t experience pain when i am doing them?
Hey, so I did cervical herniation disc exercises you showed in your videos, but everytime i do shrugs i feel like my hands and feet weaken. Now the tinglings are almost gone, but it's like my hands and feet and even my neck nerves get deactivated for less than a second then goes back online, what's the problem here?
Hi Mr, It's hard for us to determine what the issue could be without being able to see how you are performing the exercise. Make sure that your chin is tucked in when you perform the exercise. 🙌
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy it is tucked, but in that case, what doctor should I see?
Do more for knee pain 🙏🙏🙏
