How Long To Heal Knee Pain From Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome?
PFPS does not have a clear healing time frame. Doctors will give you ranges between a few weeks and a few months.
But there are many people that deal with PFPS for years! Often the pain comes and goes, so it might feel like it ended at times... but really the root problem was still there waiting to flare up as soon as you over do it somehow.
There are even people who have constant knee pain for month on end. These people run into so much frustration because doctors tell them there is nothing wrong with their x-ray or MRI and they don't understand why the knee swells and hurts so much for all these months.

    Love your videos. Am learning a lot. My MRI shows flipped meniscal fragment in intercondylar region. Bucket handle tear. Obviously I need to work on muscle imbalance but is there any hope of me avoiding surgery?

    A torn meniscus rarely heals on its own, especially if the tear is in the thinner part that doesn't get blood flow. Without surgery to trim the frayed parts off, it will get worse. So, saying a torn meniscus can heal but still have a tear doesn't mean it's healed because it stopped being painful. And, a knee brace definitely helps when you have a torn meniscus! What it does is help to keep your knee from twisting, causing more pain and just keeps the joint more stable.

    Omg..this aweful, especially with an HMO? They'll look at you like, (you're not doing what the doctor ordered) Wow! I'm at end stage bone on bone, and I can stand, or walk more than 5-7 minutes Max and then I feel like I'm gonna callapse! It's torture if I don't see any place to sit!!😳

    I need help. Just turned 46 yesterday, have always been super active but obesity runs in my family, yo the point where everyone gets hip replacement surgery at 50. I am nowhere near as big as my family members but genetics has cursed me anyway. I've been scheduled for the cortisone shot but I'm putting it off and the pain is getting worse. I'm doing the exercises but i think my hip is too far gone and my active lifestyle has been severely affected. Please help me!

    hello and thank you! you're one of the few who speak about healing - I'm so glad I found this channel! but first of all I have a question: my mother has a beginning hip arthritis but also other things: spondylolisthesis (L4/L5) and linked with this a spinal stenosis (L5/S1) and blocked sacroiliac joints. We don't know what caused what but anyway all is connected ... we're just not sure what she should address first - maybe you could help us with this? thank you in advance ❤

    Wow! I got out of the chair after doing this exercise on both my knees and nothing popped! I'm also battling with plantar fasciitis which makes it hard on the knees when I'm unable to walk right. Thank you so much for sharing this exercise!

    when i walk my knee cap make noices, and after that feel slight burn feeling, i think it is dislocate but its making noices from 4-5 days , cani do this ?

    I am so sad this is exactly what happened to me. Had my surgery and was doing great. My surgeon was shocked how well I recovered. Went to Disney two months after surgery and was fine. When I got back from Disney I saw my surgeon he told me to start doing things such as walking the dogs, working in the yard etc. He said then I will know what I can and can't do. The surgeon said I can't harm the knee. Well he was wrong. I wish I would have listened to myself and saw your video and was careful because now I am in worst shape then before surgery. Now he is saying I need a knee replacement. I am in pain and limping! I wasn't even limping before the torn meniscus surgery just in pain, but nothing like I am now. I feel like he wanted me to mess it up so then they can make more money off me. What can I do at this point to get back to where I was I am trying not to do the replacement? I have had a steroid shot which didn't work and now getting gel injections. Have one more to go. I have a trip planned to Texas and Utah and still plan on going but need to do something.

    Knee pain was causing me sleepless nights and in the morning taking 15 minutes trying to get my knee joint to painfully clunk into place. I couldn't straighten my knee at all when lying down. I had to have pain medication every day. I had stopped doing all but the necessary housework and going to work (sitting all day). I started using the advice here and I can now stand and walk with little or no pain within a maximum of 3 minutes and life is so much better. Im moving on soon to the recovery exercises and also the foot exercises which I had to stop. I highly recommend you give it a go.
