Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!! This is the video that saved me!! I was trying to pull a very heavy lawn tractor out of deep mud and I pulled my arm so hard I couldn't move it and the pain was on a scale of 10 making it impossible for me to sleep at night. I had no insurance and did not want to go see a doctor and have to go in an MRI which I was terrified of. Also during Covid, I did not want to go into a hospital if I didn't have to and it felt like I would probably need surgery. I suffered like this for 2 weeks. Then I started watching some of your videos. But this is the video that did it for me. I started pulling my shoulder blades together many times throughout the day. The same day I did those, the first day I did those, I was at the grocery store at night and found accidentally, I went to reach for something and I could! That was my moment I could not believe after two weeks of suffering. Doing that one exercise many times throughout the day made me better. And in a few days i was back at 100%! I have been meaning to write and thank you both. You saved me from possibly having to go through a lot of trauma I did not want to go through. And possibly saved me from surgery. If anyone had seen me before I did that simple exercise, I think they would have signed me up for surgery. I was shaking hands just like you did in this video with my upper arm at my side. You really made a difference in my life and I am very grateful to you both for your help. Thank you very much!

I had an ulnar nerve impingement, along with a minor rotator cuff tear. Doctors and PTs kept suggesting surgery! When the elbow's impingement was "manually" released the rotator tear pain nearly vanished! Pain was gone, I could move my arm, and my strength returned. Thanks to the PT who recognized the problem and "snapped" it back into place!!!!

Thanks. I can bench press and squat with a barbell bar over my head, no problem. Both shoulders are pretty flexible. But I always have this dull pain in my left shoulder when I raise my hands overhead just past my ears. Pain is probably 1 out of 10. I also hear crackling sounds in both shoulders when I move them in circles. I think I'll go see a doc and have them checked out before it gets worse. I remember having a similar nagging (dull) pain in my lower back, and a few weeks later, I was rolling on the floor with a bulging disc. WHOA!

Great video! Thank you so much. I took a hard fall, ( from a seizure) came too with my dog licking my face. I had a black eye, broke the back left molar and had to have it pulled, then pulled the tendon in my left thigh. The leash was in my right hand. I thought I was just super sore. But I was having problems dressing and raising my arm above 3 o'clock. I cant "wash the window or wipe the table". I went to my Ortho thinking it was a frozen shoulder. He sent me for an MRI, and I have a tear. I also have a frozen shoulder, and he said he would shave the bone because there is not enough room. I had that surgery done 15 yrs ago, and it is one tough surgery to recover from. I'm going to try your exercises to help loosen it up and prepare me We did not cover any of these in the 1 month of PT I've had so far. Do they still use the chair that raises your arm up and down for 10 hrs a day for the first 2 weeks?

bench press I tried to do 135 pounds today and was able to do it, but my shoulder did not like it. When I benched with no weight on the bar there was no issues. Heavy lifting in terms of bench or any kind of pushing - no good right now.

      1) I'm no therapist, but I am learning as we age our supporting muscle "core" evacuates, so my self diagnosis was: loss of core (complete / full body) as I stopped regular exercise. Back to your inquiry: it took fairly quick, but my symptoms were actually starting to get worse at this point as "infraspinatus" worked it's hold on to my shoulder, and the lightest rubber bands from Walmart (side/lateral raises) little circles with arms out with no weight for 40 reps ea. Direction helps... Basically it all helps a lot slower than how quickly sedentary actions take hold negatively. Good luck and hope some of this helped .

Been a year since I threw out my arm a a minor league game at a fan pitching booth. Shoulder had always been a bit tender from high school. Now 50 it hurts like a mother at times. Sometime a tooth ache in the joint then weeks of no pain. Only the hand behind the back bothered me. It was brutal. Think it is nerve damage. The others were no problem. I got a nerve running to the minor peck (?) that my massage therapist found that is killing me at times. A year after the incident, I can lift a 50 pound square box and little to no discomfort. Screwed up opening a car door. Slipped from my hand and grabbed it a second time my nerve screamed! Hardly any effort but it almost brings me to tears. Gonna try these exercises. Thank you.

with one of the exercises being 30 seconds. i rotate it starting with push ups and then to squats so on. 15 seconds each exercise except the one 4 30. 30 seconds rest to a minute. i try for 30 but what can i say. i get a few sets in a row like that then need 45 seconds. i took out your bicycle kicks because it didnt make for easy transitions. would change it just had to do something on the fly. also i have a feeling it might be yes but are bicycle kicks like old boxers do bad for you? bruce lee did good morning. hurt himself doing then so i dont do em. u also said v sits are bad for you. few exercise u said to not do i used to do every week in PE. it doesnt make sense. i mean it does when u see the world through a different filter. so much misinformation. people will have a 4 year degree but tell ppl to do all these bad exercises. hopefully ill get a response to one of my questions.

I just had a major snap crackle sound in my right shoulder this evening while lifting up and out too much weight. It is tender considerably. I passed all these movements you two show to test for .Just really tender and I also have already had arthroscopic surgery in that shoulder, but not rotator cuff repair. Also they cut away that acrominal tip and cut away my collar bone so it wouldn't catch there anymore. That was 12 years ago. Thanks!

@@catorb6607 I eventually snapped my supraspinatus tendon away from my humerus bone of my arm. Dr. who was a sports surgeon for a major University said it was the worst situation he had encountered and thought with me being over 50 I may not recover or heal back even with a good surgery. I did make a full recovery after 4 months of PT and a lot of autophagy level fasting.. 18 hours daily, several days a week. It helps clean up old damage in the body.

Ice pack on your shoulder for 20 minutes (sometimes I go 30-40 minutes) go Google stretches for the shoulder and do those. Another one my physical therapist coined as "flossing the shoulder" with arms to your sides straightened, you point both palms of your hands to the ground with fingers raised up as high as you can and you motion your arm/palms to the ground and than back up. You will feel a pressure like sensation at the finger tips when doing this.
(If your having difficulty imagining this, reflect back to when iron Man is using his propulsion to lift off from the ground.. he has the Jets on his feet and also on the palm of his hands.. clearly he would need to point his palms to the ground for him to balance himself during 'lift off'
Edit: and your really lucky. I have had my shoulder injured since January 2019 and i still have so much pain in certain motions.

I went to the doctors and I did some tests. I passed most of them.
However I still get this excruciating pain when I pull or push something to hard. Sometimes it’s with little strength, sometimes it’s with a lot of strength. But when the pain hits, it feels like something inside my shoulder either snaps, or pops, and I lose complete control of my arm for a good second. Sometimes my shoulder will be in slight pain even when doing nothing. Other days if I move my arm I get slight increases in pain. Not sure. Neither was the doctor.
I’m just worried over the snapping or popping pain I get that cripples me when I am working/at home.

@@braekhaven Sorry to hear about your injury. Unfortunately I can't trace my pain to a specific injury. Seems like it's been happening gradually over the years. My therapist told me it's related to my bad posture, slumping my shoulders too much over the years. Muscles around the shoulder blade become atrophyed. Hard to describe the specific exercises without showing you. One is lying on your stomach on the floor like you're going to do a push up. Instead of lifting your body up using your arms, you raise your shoulder blades up, like hunching your back. Sorry, it's hard to describe using text. This channel has some exercises for impingement.

Do you guys do phone consultations? I live in Massachusetts. You’re more knowledgeable than all my doctors put together. I pass these tests with pain but mine is a unique, complicated case. I’m having an MRI today on my left shoulder. Does it show soft tissue damage besides tears? It’s been ordered without contrast. Personally I think all my shoulder pain and ridiculous muscle wasting are coming from my rampant neck and scalene issues, but I think my doctors want it to be a torn labrum so it’s an “easy fix”. How can scalene issues affect your shoulder?
