I blame Eric.

💯
Eric probably graded the card himself
Ebay should go after Beckett for part of the 23 K - hey you guys screwed up here, we paid up, but it is really on you. Give us some of our money back. If they need a stick, they could threaten to ban Beckett slabs for 6 months from all ebay listings...
I agree that they should be pushing for Beckett to pay their share. The ban idea wouldn't go over since it would be the sellers that you'd actually be punishing.
Though it doesn't really impact me, the sellers I know like the ebay authenticity program because it concludes the sale. No more guys buying cards and trying to sell them for three weeks and then initiating a return when they can't sell for more money. Plus it removes any of the "my case got scuffed or the card isn't really a 5" type emails that used to exist from folks wanting partial refunds.
As for the PMG thing, a fool and his money....... Learn a little bit before throwing around that kind of change and you'll end up much happier in the long run.
Forgot to mention, if you didn't see the news - Fanatics is killing off the PWCC brand (about a year too late). Think they found no amount of polishing was ever going to remove the stench of Brent and gangs previous actions.
For giggles I looked up the seller most of the feedback was as a buyer.

Hey Carlos , first time listener, long time caller here. So this Beckett company made an enormous error and it greatly affected multiple people. Do you think there will be any consequences for them in the long run? Do you think they may lose customers due to this mistake and the others you alluded to? Thanks and keep up the adequate work.
I heard they fired their lead grader. Supposedly he was working remotely in Boston and got a grainy fax of the card which led to the misgrade.
@@davebolaton7639 That’s funny! 🤣
This is a moral hazard issue...by effectively rewarding the seller, you're encouraging more of this kind of behavior down the road.
I do like a good moral hazard reference.
Let the schadenfreude commence! :P
What does Eric think?
The last podcast episode from Tuesday covers a lot of that.
For the final resolution, we'll definitely hit on that for Friday's live.
I understand psa can’t authenticate every single card that’s in a slab, but they can certainly identify what’s egregiously NOT authentic. Let’s not lose common sense/the obvious in all of this.
